Hi! Whenever I play in the higher register loudly I spit a little and you can hear a little in my sound. Is there anyway I can combat this or am I doing something wrong with my embouchure?
I would need to see & hear you play to know for sure. It’s possible that your embouchure is too tight. If you want to send a short video to me by Facebook messenger, I might be able to take a better guess.
Sorry for the late reply. I was on vacation and didn't have internet access. I assume the audition on Saturday was for region orchestra, so hopefully you are still going to be auditioning for region band in early December. When high notes don't respond after a lower note, it's because we are waiting too late to increase the airspeed. If you speed up the air right on the high note, sometimes it's too late. I try to speed up the air, or crescendo, during the lower note, and then the high note just pops out of that. Let me know if that makes sense. Basically, speed up your air/crescendo before you get to the high note, not after.
I always look forward to your performance of the annual etudes. Beautiful as always!

Typically when I play an F above the staff is when I start to hear it

@luellyndollard Oh ok I had a feeling, thank you. I don't have Facebook/messenger...
@sofiaperez2689, if you'd like to email it to austinflutesociety@gmail.com with Attn: Luellyn in the subject line, I can get it there.
