  • Continued working on the sidewalk reveal. Worked 5 more hours in the hot sun making it safe for Wheelchairs and Strollers. Talked to homeowner of part of the sidewalk and got permission to continue working.
    ---------
    This is a sidewalk in a small town near me. The town is unincorporated, so it has no government services to take care of the common areas. Mostly they are taken care of by the local businesses. This area that I am working on has not been tended to except when the county comes through a couple times a year and bush hogs it down. The sidewalk is never edged. Part of the sidewalk was impassable. I wasn't able to put all the finishing touches but at least I was able to make it passable.
    I am planning to work my way on around the walkways. Subscribe so you won't miss any of the progress.

    The businesses in your area should be giving you a good citizenship award for caring enough about the situation to actually put some muscle, sweat and time into it. Not just strollers; think of folks on crutches trying to navigate that mess to say nothing of snakes! You do your community proud, sir!

      The DOT did some road work in the area and have left it there. It is not being serviced/emptied. I wonder how long they will leave it there.

    Very well done 👏 Great job and looking really well. Keep up the good work and no doubt will inspire others . Have always thought that jobs like this would be of great benefit to young offenders to do to help out local communities and give something back and take pride in their work and maybe learn a trade or give them an idea for a start up business themselves.

      Yeah, I often think that the people that are passing by are thinking that I am having to do this for some community service work from a DUI or something. LOL

    I've mentioned this this a few weeks ago... try using your "trimmer with the blade attachments, to run flat on the ground to tear up the overgrown cracks in the sidewalks and street areas, it should create less shoveling for you. (I'm sending a link to your email for another idea)

    You need to get a Power Brush to save your back on jobs like this. I watch Fills Lawn Care here on RUclips and he has one and it fast better for your back. Nice clean up 👍🏾

    Don't most high schools require community service hours to graduate? Maybe you could bring a high schooler with you to do the shoveling :)

    What do the city workers do in that town??? Looks like your tax dollars aren't very well spent. That should be their job to maintain that sidewalk.

    • @GrasshopperLawncareGA
      @GrasshopperLawncareGA  Год назад +1

      The county bush hogs the road edges. There is no "town" per se. It is an unincorporated community. It was a town at one time but not for years now. There are no taxes paid.
