Listen to arabic songs or Algerian Chaabi song
Very good for capoeira!
This guy's ridiculously good! That type of drums from the middle east is hard to play!
A single instrumentalist achieving a simple instrument touch seems like a huge Arab party, it is for a few.

@ Sunt Romanca !! Baiatul cu tarabana e si el Roman ?
Usually like this tune in the east and arabic countries it need two doumbek players to do it but i see this guy is playing the both rhythms alone he is awesomely talented
Finally someone recognizes the talent in this video. That's extactly what I was trying to point out in my earlier comment.
I think he's bipolar
He actually is quite a talented player as most of these patterns or rhythms if you will, are played this rich usually by two or more player ensembles to have a more articulated and sonorous sound. He is in fact having a two (sometimes even three) player performance all by himself here without breaking sweat. Hats off!Playing darbuka is a whole lot more than meets the eye and the ear. Linear drumming at its finest with articulations that requires crazy practice to master.
thank you for the explanation
All darbuka players divides their right and left hands , it' s nothing special very random. Only difference he makes is he is using the " butterfly style". this style is very popular in Iran , if you are not familiar to drums it may sound to you very rich but actually it's a tricky n simple style, all he is doing is using his thumb behind his fingers for the tirrrrssss) it ' s same like buzzing tecnique on drum set , only thing you have to do loosing your wirst. The real musicians dont like this style because sound is not clear at all and it' s a piece of cake
Clearly you know a whole lot more than I do about darbuka playing. Just to be clear, I was not referring to his independence, but rather his way of linear rhythmic thinking like all darbuka players seem to have almost naturally as if they are born with, I suppose mainly because of the musical genre dictates it. Granted, it may be an easy trick as you have pointed out however, I can't say the sound is not clear if I can hear it. Also if you are referring to the "buzz roll" for the snare drums, though it may seem very basic or rudimentary, it is not as easy as it seems to play it clean and articulated. Believe me, I know a thing or two about drums. ;)
True. I'm from Kurdish Syria and we do butterfly technique often. I prefer split finger because you are correct it is clearer, but if you really work on the butterfly technique you can get it to sound very clean
Here is the guy knows more than one or two things about drums))) ( Krazas Awi)
How could there be no one that has started to dance to his drumming I know I wouldn't be standing still I'd be catching those beats as fast as I could wow he is incredible he is awesome what a musician.
Same. It probably means you have a deeper connection to ancient Egypt or even Mesopotamia. Maybe you should so some exploring. Maybe you even carry a warrior spirit.
because people are scared of what other people will think about them.
My thoughts exactly Charmaine, the darabouka dictates all the dance movements and tempo ❤️, he's fantastic

I was strolling the same street with my wife when suddenly I've heard this guy exploding near me so I've approached him in arabic thinking that he's from Middle East or something. He eye balled me like I was crazy and he answered to me in a plain good old Romanian: "look bro', I understood shit! I'm Romanian"… I've laughed my ass off and I told him that I'm half Romanian too so I gave him 20 Euros to beat the dust out of that Darbuka like there's no tomorrow. So he did…He's damn good

New York ya this guy is insanely good! I’ve been playing for a few months now and I’ve always had a natural talent for the Doumbek as I was raised in an environment filled with Arabic music. I would always play a rhythm on the table and now with my Doumbek I’m able to think of any rhythm in my mind then play it, which I later found a lot people can’t do but this guy is crazy! His hand movements and his fingers move very fast! I can only wish to one day play at his level
