Alexa, at first I was creeped out…then bless you for what you do. I grew up around cemeteries, where every year around the Day of the Dead the whole family would congregate in the cemeteries. With other families gathering the whole day. While the grown ups would clean, repair and maintain the graves of loved ones, the kids would play around, playing hide and seek among the tombs, crypts and mausoleum. We were too young and the place was not scary to us kids. As night fell the family would rest and have dinner, inviting the departed ones to join us. I’d look around and there were families everywhere doing the same. We would say prayers before we went home. All the kids would collect souvenirs of melted candles we would roll into balls to take home. This would last us several weeks of playtime. When we left mom would always say to leave things as they were as a sign of respect. “Don’t touch the VASE.”

I have never seen or heard of this movie. Thank you for putting this on my radar. Found it and finished watching it in a streaming channel (thanks Tubi).
And after watching Cementery Man I went down a rabbit hole. This is based on a novel by Tiziano Sclavi. I know him as the creator of Italian comic book character, Dylan Dog. These stories have the same vibe as this movie/story. So if you like this movie I would suggest his Dylan Dog stories. There is selection of stories that have been translated into English here in th US.
Once again thank you for reacting this movie. It was a very nice surprise watching this movie :)

The best films make you question things, I believe, Alexa.

This is such a beautiful film, one of my favorites. The Cemetery is easily the star of the film.

I have a question about "drawings of cemeteries." Are you talking plan views/site maps or artistic landscapes?

Mine are inspired by the feeling I get when I am there. Yes, I also incorporate specific markers, but I do shift them in locations. It is more about capturing the personality of the place - is it fun and bubbly? Is it “LEAVE ME ALONE” what is that feeling.

Alexa! You simply must react to the film "Salome's Last Dance" 1988
