    You can't starve out N. Korea as the elite and the military will always be well fed. The villagers will die in the fields by the tens of thousands with no effect on the ruling regime.

      Fatima: You misapprehend my comment. I merely pointed out that Judge Nap is not some traitor that we should cast off to CNN, rather, he is simply falling back on his philosophical beliefs. That should not be construed as taking one side or the other on the issue at hand. But I understand that populist comments are currently in trend so carry on.

      Napolitano stated that we can't go in and take out innocent North Koreans. What he doesn't realize is that after years of brainwashing to hate America and that we are evil, there is no such thing as an innocent North Korean. They will be just like the Japanese in WW2. They will fight to the death.

    @JohnSmith-il7jn 7 лет назад +1

    Judge, we respect you, but this is not your issue. Diplomacy is not the answer at this time. If Hillary Clinton were the President, we would indeed enter into years of fruitless negotiations with North Korea and by then their nuclear capabilities would have been perfected and we would lose several million American lives. This is a Munich moment and Trump is right to threaten North Korea with complete destruction. There is no time for appeasement.

      @Ryan-by8ui 7 лет назад +11

      A gun to our head? We can intercept their missiles with our technology and if they happen to be the aggressor then we have actual justification to use military force.
      What's your genius idea? Pre-emptively nuke a city filled with innocents, because "'Murica!"? Yeah that's a good idea, then we can be the only country to ever actually use nuclear weapons in war. And we'll have done it not once, not twice, but three times!

      Patrick Hostis It's funny that you ignored Ryan's legit points. But what what do I know? I'm just triggered, not like the man panicking about an irrelevant nation like North Korea while completely ignoring the real threat arising from a defensive nuclear equipped China.
      If you must fight, fight smart. It makes the big booms do better if you actually know what target you're supposed to hit. However, the most righteous of victories is one where no fighting happened. It means that you achieved the goal of war (ostensibly peace) without wasting the life of a good soldier or spending a necessary dollar. Isn't that what we all want? Or do some of us here value feeling good about ourselves over the lives of others?
      I do not mind war, but I loathe a _senseless_ war. Ask the veterans amongst you, ask the ones who served in Korea before. Ask them if what they want is even more bloodshed on that land or if they want the people to be free from the worry that they will be killed by either the regime they despair under or the Americans they have been taught would be happy would to slaughter them. I am saddened to say in this very comment section, not under this poster but certainly on other's, many have shown themselves all too eager to fulfill the role that the Communist propagandists wrote out for them. Eager to ignore civilian casualties in pursuit of empty glory.
      I say we must ignore our baser instincts, and act on our higher logic, and on our stronger morality. If we strike, let us strike with mercy. But for now, it is a time for an art as ancient as warfare but is the less famous of the two brothers: diplomacy. Sun Tzu included it in the Art of War for a reason, and it sure as hell weren't for legal reasons.

    Those who fail to remember the past, are forced to relive it. Hitler was ignored by most of Europe as he built a huge army, and ranted and raved about how he'd strike out at the World and Conquer it. If Europe would have stuck Hitler early on, he could have been stopped easier, and a lot fewer people would have died. I say the unchecked lunatic always does far more damage, when allowed to muscle up, then go full bore. We may have to strike them, and some lives may be lost in North Korea. But compared to allowing him to actually launch Nuclear Weapons, at the USA, Japan, South Korea, or Guam, it's the more sane option.

    Why the bleep does anyone worry about Trump being bellicose. There has been a notable absence of deterrence to this point thanks to Obama and predecessors. It should be apparent to anyone that diplomacy has not worked. At this point he needs to understand that the threat of our military intervention is real. I would argue that the rhetoric is the only thing that might deter that Korean nut ball and prevent a military response. Talking sweet nothings won't do it. Judge Nap should stick to court rooms where language can have consequences that can be controlled.

      I really have no idea just what President Trump meant and neither do you. It may be bluster; it may not. But my point is that the Judge shouldn't make such assumptions, and certainly not make them such that they fuel the insanity of the Left. The prudent thing to do is to wait to see what NK does; it's not like they're going to catch us sleeping on this one.

  • @johnclark7406
    @johnclark7406 7 лет назад

    A couple of things.
    No 1: The only reason why we give a damn about NK is because we have provided SK and and to some extent Japan our guarantee to defend them from an attack by NK. NK is correct to be scared because of what the US did in Libya and Iraq. This is all about deterrence. China/Russia both have deterrence when it comes to the US. NK wants that as well.
    No 2: China wouldn't mind if NK pushed into SK.
    No 3: China does not want a refugee crisis coming from NK so they will never support a large military strike from the US.
    No 4: China does not want US troops on its border so it will defend NK or at least create another border somewhere inside NK while they simultaneously secure NK nuclear weapons
    No 5: Chinese leadership is up for re-election so NK picked a perfect time to act like a buffoon knowing that China will have support it's communist brother.
    Message to China : If you want to act like one of the big boys it's time to put your NK dog down.
