- Introduction of my valve seat cutting machine
+ the whole process of cutting the valve seats on a used cylinder head.
Attention!
Titanium valves must not be lapped !!!
They have a special coating.
Therefore the valve seats must be machined very precisely.

Wish i have such a good equipment ...
Paul, you are grate mechanic! Thanks for another one video!
Thanks for watching
I need this machine
everyone's an expert, don't listen to the doubters, you do great work, keep it up.
Thanks for watching.
Add the tools to your custom bench for lapping too! Then its complete hahaha
Great work!
Please never lapping titanium valves.
Thanks.
@@PaulXchannel I wasn't saying for the ones you just put in, but to make the tool set complete :)
Fantastic. Good work.
Oh man. You just took custom machine building to a whole new level. That's inspiring !
I was very critical to few of your old videos and repairs you have done. But this machine is amazing I can see how wrong I was and how great machinist you are. All the best !
Thanks for watching.
Excellent machine . Any shop doing head work would want this right next to the flow bench. They always say the horse power is made in the heads.
Парень , ты один из лучших ! 👍👍👍
If we lived in the same town, i would have so much work for you!!
Amazing machine, and work!, Thanks Paul!
Thanks for watching.
Beautiful tool, a touch over the top but a thing of envy.👍
Wow, very innovative design using the electromagnet brake and the air lock spindle. Very cool, thanks for the video :)
Thanks for watching
Very nice machine, would be interesting to see more details on the build, mainly the air locking spindle! This puts some of the store bough pro seat cutting benches to shame!
Thanks. I will show in future videos.
Beautifully made machine. Congratulations
The head is moving around while cutting...need something there.
Good invention
It's really amazing you do it, a round of applause Master!!!!👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks for watching
Insane! Absolutely insane.. and to say it's all hand made 👏
Thanks
I really like your machine, very good idea and job. Thanks for show us.
Thanks for watching
Beautiful work as always, please keep up the good work.
Thanks
It's awesome that you added an air brake what an awesome machine. I wonder how much faster it would be on this machine compared to a milling machine? Good stuff I love your videos.
Everything is so cool and solid and technological but... To affort that you need to do A LOT of valves repairing ☺️
Thanks
This is a nice piece of design and engineering, I like the magnetic lock up (bit of a problem for ferrous heads)Many Serdi design cues used here though.
Thanks
Very impressive! Love your work
Thank you very much
Fantastic job, wish I had one as easy to use as that
Thanks
Amazing machine. I had a Serdi 3.0 and this is such a similar machine. Great build!!! Any chance of sharing how you made the spherical head? I am looking at making a machine like this myself.
Thanks.
I will show in future videos.
So like this tool will work on any kind of engine block to cut an reseat the valves
Wow۔۔i love it my future wish this machine
Wow,what a piece of kit,top job as always,👍👍
An absolute pleasure to watch
Thanks for watching
Amazing and correct way of working
pretty interesting.....i think they use a nearly identical machine for doing stereotactic craniotomies
During cutting, there is no visible indicator showing the deviation of the spindle from the cutting force. The console is in action.
Ive cut seats like this on my mill and you need to put a sponge under the cutter to prevent chips from going down the guide to prevent galling with that rotating pilot.
Very impressive machine you built👍
Thanks
nice project and such a cool video bro! thumbs up! keep it up!👍👍👍💪💪
Thanks for watching.
I would like build a machine like this. Exists some way for get your help? Thanks.
Nice nice stuff man... u are a genious... with a lot of nice machines... u are good... damn good at what u do
Thank you very much
I don't understand the function of the "adjuster nut for cutting". Shouldn't there be a spring inside to take the spindle back up again after cutting? Nicely made machine, though! ;)
Чудо машина!
Hi super nstrumento..This project has a price, I would like to have one of those for my workshop ... I'm from Peru, I loved the project you did ...
Not for sale.
Thanks for watching.
Amazing bench stand would you makeone for me I'd buy it off you I own a Mira valve seat cutter machine but the head stand is rubbish
So you are telling me that you designed and built this thing, including the air lock swivel tool holder? The R&D put into this machine must be enormous
Yes. I will show in future videos.
I wants this machine. But where l contract.
Nice 2 speed wiper motor to drive it.
Honestly that thing is Ridiculously expensive to make or buy. I’ve been using a Bridgeport with my own tooling for years. And I can make 4 or 5 Bridgeport Fixtures for the price of that. Plus I can do more than just a four-cylinder or lawnmower head
Excellent observation. (wiper motor) Thanks.
good work man all the best to you
Thanks.
You too.
Is this machine something you developed?, really interested in learning more about it.

Great! Cool machine! Done accurate. Curious, how it works - airlock spindle bearing?
Very simply .
I will show in future videos.
great, greetings from Indonesia
Now valve seats are lowered, and valve stem might be to long to set proper valve clearance.. how do you fix this issue - would you grind valve stem to the length ? Great machine - you inspired me to make one...
smaller size shim under buckets?
@@chem6269 Not every engine use such great invention like a shims :( I had this issue many times - last time with Ford's 2.0 Duratec... :(
smaller size shim
@@PaulXchannel Ift there is a shim - ok, but like I said - there is no such option. What will you advice then? stem grinding, or replace a whole set of buckets??
@@RemontidEalny I don't know of any valvetrain that doesn't have some form of lash adjustment. He's only changing the height by .001" or so.
From where to buy it...🤔
I had a VGS 20 for 25 years ..all I do is Harley heads using serdi full radius cutters ..also cutters to open valve seats
Cutters I dont think your head design
Can hold concentric.
Your cutters are 3 angel and one angel cut into aluminum.
A valve job made easy this time.
Great design effort though.
Thanks
Really nice machine, great work!
Thanks
Hello, what is the problem when they breathe oil from the engine's breathing. It is a Yamaha yfz450r
Looks a very well thought out machine. Do you sell these ?
Not. I only have one.
@@PaulXchannel you should think about marketing these there would be a market for them.
👍
very cool!
Very slick setup! Can you use this to cut the seat completely out and replace them?
Working on it.
More in future videos.
Man I love the machine how much would it cost for you to build me one
Not for sale
Hi Paul. You are a very talented engineer. I really enjoyed your video. I think you are a great video editor too. I have a small question for you...What is the power /CFM of your vacuum pump you use to lock the boring head?
Thanks.
8atm.
@@PaulXchannel Do you happen to know the HP of the electric motor that drives the pump?
No
Hello sir how to grand this tool make avideo
Very very good job 👍👌
Thanks for watching.
Is there a valve seat pocket cutter?
That is a really cool tool!!
This is very, VERY cool!
Thanks for watching.
show, otima maquina , ela sera comercializada?
Nice pice of equipment. In a world of the throw away vehicle. Would of ben nice to have 40 to 60 years ago when engines were a normal repair routine
👍
Do you lap the valve after seat cut?
Clean work!
That looks like a Mira style valve job machine
How are you checking heights? Do you have to remove your cutter, pilot, and spindle each time to check with a valve and dial indicator? I think this is the first time I've seen a pilot that spins in a guide vs. the cutter spinning on the pilot.
I cut the valve seat only minimally.
To make the right angles.
@@PaulXchannel So you're not checking to make sure that the each exhaust seat and intake seat height match? I didn't pay attention to the top of the cylinder head to see it it has rocker arms or overhead cams. If it's overhead cam what are you going to do to match installed heights? Just shim the springs and grind the tip of the valves? But aren't you running titanium valves? Then grinding the valve stem tips wouldn't be possible right?
I use valve shims.
See this video.

I think today most of the VGS machines are live pilot unlike the Sunnen VGS20 for instance.
Que máquina!!!! Felicitaciones
Very good machine!!!!
Thanks
Nice vídeo, perfect job!
Thanks
Good job,accuration and precission.
Thanks for watching
any chanse of fixing my xt600 top head?
凄い❗装置も全部、自分で作ったんですか。
Very impressive!!
I want this machine
Plz reply
Thanks
Awesome Job!
Thanks
Gostaria de saber se vcs enviam para o Brasil ?? E qual valor da máquina ??
You did leakage test with vacuum, but in our countries guys usually do test with kerosene. Because it is very fluid or fluent.
What is better in your opinion?
I think vacuum equipment is used in the factory.
It's fast with the value on the display.
Kerosene is used when there is no vacuum pump - it is also good.
It just takes longer.
A vacuum is the most sensitive test of all .
👍
Man where did you get that air brake head?
Neat, but no provision to indicate depth of cut? A Serdi, for example, makes it EASY to cut every seat equally, so that shimming for valvelash or spring installed height is extremely consistent across the board.
Edit: I guess if you keep your depth-of-cut adjuster nut the same for all exhaust valves the same - the results should be really close to one another, pending parallelism of your spindle head magnetic plate and your cylinder head mounting plate...
I cut only the minimum.
Just to keep the saddle clean and the right angles.
Man that is awesome! What is that air locking swivel called? First time I’ve ever seen one. You do great machine work 👍
Thanks.
I will show in future videos.
So this video shows how to make a bigger valve?
Qual valor de uma máquina dessa
Where I can buy it? And how much is price?
fantastic piece of kit you have made just love this channel
Thanks for watching.
Does it really need this level of complexity ? There's already a valve guide. Why not use that ?
The accuracy of the valve seat machining is very important.
Hi Where are you from? I think you are from Deutschland!
The air brake on the spindle is pretty cool... did you make it and is it ridged?
Not. It's just machined
Good job Paul x bro
Thanks
Amazing.
All most the same as a series 100 or 80.i like the one you use what the price on it
It's not bought.
Amigo seus vídeos é muito bom e essa máquina| um sonho pra mecânico vc poderia dar o valor de uma dessa? Forte abraço da júnior motos ba
How much whole machine?
Excelente
wow! how i wish that there is something like that here.
Wow! Awesome 👍👍👍
Thanks
Hey Paul, amazing job! Where did you get the seal adapter for your vacuum pump to test the manifold?
Thanks.
