Old friends that you really miss. A proper laugh for the first time in ages. The 70s were a strange time - but they were great to grow up in; innocent enough for us to still see the world through uncynical eyes; but naughty enough to be fun.
Cor! Finding a woman that can sup pints like this is a great drinking buddy! The great Molly lives on in great clips like these and our loveable Dick Emery too xxx
Sometimes when you watch old comedy shows it's a bit disapointing - never lives up to the memories - but I really enjoyed these clips - ta muchly for the posting :)
An interesting clip of three of my favourite comedians - sadly, now gone. There is no comedians today that can compare with the ones of the 1950's & 1960's. Particularly the late Eric Sykes.
There is no such thing as a British comedian, they are extinct. The phoney brainless political crap that the phoney political 18-35 year olds watch and for some totally unfathomable reason think are funny says everything about the german style of so called humour that is prevalent in the UK these days.
I watched them film the guest house scene. It was when Dick was appearing on stage for the season also Molly Sugden with are you being served, total sell outs. That was when Blackpool was tops. Most of it was filmed in the Norbreck area of Blackpools north shore.
Damn you, I was just going to say that. No, but it's great to see something truly funny rather than the crude embarrassment that masquerades as comedy these days.
Where has the wonderful British comedian gone too !!!!!. We had Dick Emery, Tommy cooper, Benny Hill, Morecombe and Wise to name a few. I met Mr Emery a number of times in the early 70's. He lived nr Petersfield ( England) and would ride his motorbikes around the area and would stop and chat to other motorbikers in Petersfield Square &always a gent. A wonderful time and the comedians didn't use other peoples misfortunes to poke fun at .... just observations on life. Molly Sugden. Fantastic.
Roy Kinnear was usually the dad. If i'm not mistaken that's Chic Murray, a rather eccentric scottish comedian when I was a boy, quite famous in Scotland. he used to appear with his wife, Chic murray and Maidie, Big Maidie.....lol
@sluggs51 You should have said that in your opinion Emery wasn't funny. Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but that is all it is as humour is inherently subjective. After all, you can't reasonably claim that millions of people who laughed at Emery's performances were wrong to do so!
Fantastic memories of a truly fantastic all round entertainer........
The good old days when my dad and grandad sunbathed in a three-piece suit with a knotted hanky on their heads! Heaven. xxx
Reflects a truly wonderful time...
Absolutely brilliant, WTF has happened to life now

Fantastic to see this again as I am the little girl buying an ice cream with my brother, cousin and uncle :-)

I remember those square ice creams..delicious.
I liked Roy Kinnear as Dad. Burning the garden shed down was a gem of a sketch.
Superb! Not chuckled so much in a while.
EXCELLENT! !
Thank you for putting this up!

He was great too. Strange that his final act was the film The Others with the fiercely contemporary Nicole Kidman.

That's Mrs. Slocombe from Are You Being Served. She was a brilliant actress.

Haven’t seen that for a long time!👍😊😂
"Pour soul, she's only three weeks to live" At that point, I almost died through laughing!
Damn you, I was just going to say that.
No, but it's great to see something truly funny rather than the crude embarrassment that masquerades as comedy these days.
I was born in the 60s, kids today would not understand this type of humour.
Well someone does above your post - aged 15 and says old comedy is 'awesome".
@TheMrgaztop im 15, and i love this humor!! i even own all the benny hill dvds, as well as the dick emery ones.
Old comedy is awesome!!
My dear goodies guy - you have just opened up a treasure chest - from someone who was 15 when this stuff was being made - enjoy!
At 0:33, Mollie Sugden, best known from "Are You Being Served?" as Mrs Slocumbe.
Kids liked humor it in the 1960s and the 1860s, they will always like it.
Brilliant, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for posting jimmy :) ..
Good ol' funny days , 😂

Play exile
Pilot as well, believe he crashed his tiger moth. Said on Parky that if he did go into comedy probably would have liked to be airline pilot.
Chick Murray playing Dad. A fine comedian in his own right. A shame we didn't see more of him on English TV.
Mrs Slocombe
And Capt. Peacock. Where's Mr. Humphries and Mr. Lucas?
At 4:14 Is that not Frank Thornton, best known as Captain Peacock in "Are You Being Served?"?
Yes, and Mrs Slocombe was there too, Molly Sugdon.
Come on blackpool you can be the paris of Britain
Chic Murray was brilliant also
A good tip on how to deal with men in suits picking bones with your advertisements!! xxx
@mistofoles This sketch is from 1976.
Roy Kinnear was usually the dad. If i'm not mistaken that's Chic Murray, a rather eccentric scottish comedian when I was a boy, quite famous in Scotland. he used to appear with his wife, Chic murray and Maidie, Big Maidie.....lol
Have you the Punch & Judy clip of a summer session?
The snowflakes would have a fit if this was shown on TV today. 😕
Very funny.
I believe Arthur English and Chic Murray also played the part of "dad" to Gaylord in the Series.
Claasic British comedy. Lol
were you one of them!?
Thanks for uploading this, jimmyjimmyad. Have you got any more? It's wonderful.
'Tis different seeing Sugden with a natural hair color..almost didn't recognize her...
I've done it again Dad. 😂
they certainly left something behind.
Classic Max Miller joke,"Use of the cruet"
Mrs Slocom
You just have to attract people and filter your sea water and replace the sand
You have the tower etc

@mistofoles It was deliberate! As he was loving her to death! Despite the make up, he was still in fine form when he made this!
Victoria woods
Love this. DE was hilarious. And he had a number of ex-pat Are You Being Served people on the show. Funny, he never guested on it.
Mollie Sugden and the OBS cast were fabulous!
