One thing that I consider to be a compelling "fact" in support of Toby being the Strangler is the relation between Toby's injury in Costa Rica and the particular body part targeted by the Strangler: the neck. It seems reasonable to me that Toby, having broken his neck at the start of his vacation, would be more sensitive/aware of his neck as a point of vulnerability, and therefore fixated on other's necks when he started his spree. Perhaps it helped him gain a sense of control over his own grievous injury, while also proving to himself that its not just his neck that is weak and vulnerable. Maybe he set out to break necks rather than strangle them, but lost his nerve and/or strength and settled for strangles as an alternative.
Also the fact he's such a good runner could be a factor to which he uses to run away from a crime scene as fast as he could and not leave traces behind @@Ging-55

The first mention in the newspaper is on the day of Cece's birth, so the stranglin was most likely the day prior. So it can't be Jim and/or Pam. Dwight was staying at Jim and Pams place, so he is also highly unlikely. Michael is also unlikely as he was completely emotionally engaged with the birth and probably stayed till late at the hospital. Toby was possibly very frustrated with Pam having Jim's child and Creed thought he might have had to die because of Cece's birth.
Love the real detective work! Though Jim the alibi master would surely be able to slip away for a few minutes while up all night during Pam’s labor, and what better time to commit a crime than that, when no one would suspect him?
I always thought maybe he was so stressed and had pent up anger because Pam wouldn't go to the hospital that he snapped on accident and strangled someone. Then ended up liking the feeling.
All of these are correct It's in the name: *scranton* strangler, it's the region of Scranton that did it, it originally started with an individual going on a small spree, which started copycats, who could very well have been everyone mentioned
Everybody got scared and started strangling each other to try and avoid getting murdered, but then would think “oh no, now I look like the strangler!” and let go before they die.
It's kind of a bad to shut down theories for your property because whether you like them or not, they could make up half of your audience depending on what you create.
@@bungiecrimes7247 I understand that from a producers perspective. If I were a writer, I wouldn’t fight with theorists, but I would definitely tell them that their theory wasn’t my intention for the story or character.
@caniborrowyourdog3681 I think even if it wasn't the writers intention I don't think that matters lol I believe it's not toby, but the theory that it's someone else in the office is plausible. They only confirmed it wasn't toby.
I never really take writers saying no to theories seriously. Obviously they know what it actually is but if the fans do solve it and the theory is correct, why would you say "yea, you guys are right, you can stop thinking about this now" like as a writer of a show you'd want those people who theorize about the show to keep talking about the show.
In a meta sense the strangler represents a boring small town’s grasp of relevance by latching onto any sense of media relevance, even if it’s a literal true crime case. Which in turn allows the fan base to preserve itself in the mystery
I don’t think Gabe could ever be a strangler. He said he couldn’t even be a gym teacher because he didn’t have the lung capacity to blow a whistle, I doubt he’s physically capable of strangling someone longer than three seconds
A missing part of the Toby theory that I really like is that his "zipline accident" where he broke his neck was actually a suicide attempt. It would make sense, given how horrible his life had been, especially if upon arriving in Costa Rica, he didn't find himself feeling any happier. It would explain why he was in the hospital for so long rather than being discharged (suicide watch) and could help to explain the stranglings. He survived a hanging, and his victims survive being nearly choked to death in a similar manner. This is less important imo, but his increased aggression could have been partly increased due to potential brain damage from a lack of oxygen traveling to his brain during the attempt, as well.
I first didn't understand how you could possibly say "David Wallace" anywhere before the end of the list, but as you finished the introduction a single sentence crept uninvited into my mind: "He imagines them with Michael's face". And then I was surprised you didn't mention him earlier 😂
I feel like someone strangling people only to unconsciousness is infinitely weirder than a serial killer who's MO is strangling. I wish they at least mentioned that offhandedly in a news report on the show if truly intended that way.
at around 18:25 you say that gabe was on the show from season 6-8 and was "never to be seen or heard from again" but he makes an appearance in season 9 when Andy rehired him to get back at Erin for dumping him
Here's another out there theory.... Phyllis likes drama, likes to get Bob involved. She challenges people, perhaps gets too drunk starts strangling people but can't finish. In true love fashion Bob finishes the job in true Manson family style?
Creed is the strangler. Its so apparent and obvious everyone just overlooks it. He is a mysterious and shady character, showed up with blood all over him on a Halloween episode and creed said it himself in an interview that they didn't catch the right guy
It's kinda funny that the central aspects of Creed's character at first was that of a weird, eccentric but kind-hearted old man who sometimes grappled with the fact that he peaked decades ago and now lives a washed up existence in some nothing office building only for him to suddenly be written as a maniac probably-murderer who sold drugs and was according to Ryan, incredibly unhinged in private.
I think the fact that the stranger never killed anyone is a good indicator that it’s Gabe, he would likely never be able to bring himself to kill someone, yet enjoy the power that came with knowing that he could.
I honestly thought somewhere around Gabe and Robert California would be Meredith as I've heard that mentioned a few times. She very impulsive, has a drinking problem and seems like a somewhat physically strong person. This isn't a 100% sound theory but I think it's important to consider that there are female characters that could have been the strangler. The Office also does not say the gender, age or anything about the victims of the strangler, so it's a bit of a jump to assume it could not have been any of the women in the office.
I genuinely think the Scranton strangler is Ryan, I remember in the show the news broadcaster talking about the chase said the strangler would take photos of his victims and I remember there was a scene of Ryan showing him trying to be photographer taking photos of Kelly naked (a weird and obtuse artist), also I think Ryan is sociopathic enough to commit the crimes, maybe taking out his rage from Kelly or anyone his “list”.
@@drewpeacock9087 personally I see it as perfect, he gives me big Patrick Bateman vibes after he gets promoted. His insanely fragile ego, him not being shy to get revenge even teaming with Dwight in an “diabolical plan”, his manipulation of Kelly and I remember it being mentioned that the Scranton strangler just strangles people and doesn’t kill his victims and I, with Ryan’s non existent work ethic, can just picture him in the middle of strangling someone thinking “man this is taking too long, oh god the amount of work needed to get away with murder is way too much, im a perfectionist I’d rather not do it than do a crappy version” and just giving up, very funny and fitting tbh.
@@acleanpairofsocks exactly, wouldn’t someone who wanted to avoid suspicion make sure he wasn’t the odd one out, and also he could be seeing if his framing on skub worked out.
No, Roy got a redemption arc, I don't think it makes any sense that he'd start strangling people. Also, during that time Roy was kinda unhinged. Seems unlikely he'd avoid killing if he was already choking someone out.
What if it’s none of them and it’s the. Camera crew or the audio guys. It was actually me the entire time, which came as a surprise to everyone except me, largely because I was never on the show. The writers are just that clever.
I always hated the "Toby is the strangler" theory. I think it misses the whole point of the character. Also, socially awkward does not equal serial killer. One of my best friends growing up was very awkward and he got bullied relentlessly by kids joking that he was gonna be a serial killer. Irl serial killers have been very charismatic and attractive. The whole point of Toby is that Michael is such an awful boss, the viewer would eventually ask, "how does he get away with it? They must have the least effective HR ever!" And Toby is the most timid, powerless guy who can never wrangle in Michael.
Thank you so much for saying this, I can’t say I’ve had the personal experience you have, but I have noticed a disturbing trend of people considered stereotypically abnormal being killers whenever Hollywood wants do “a mental health story”
"Irl serial killers have been charismatic and attractive". Very, VERY occasionally. In actual reality, the vast majority of serial killers are, in fact, fairly creepy and unattractive people on the surface as well as beneath it. They're good at convincing people that they aren't serial killers, but they do not tend to be mentally well, obviously, which in turn usually leads to a mostly highly dysfunctional life or lifestyle. Serial killers do not, by and large, present good social skills, when compared to the average person. They're not always the most obviously creepy person you've ever met, but they ARE, on average, much less socially skilled than non serial killers.
Wasnt there multiple writers throughout the strangler episodes? That automatically discredits any sort of appeal to authority fallacy, but even then, the fact the strangler strangled Toby makes it seem like it the real one was caught after all.
Kind of surprised I haven't seen anyone bringing up Dwight shoving Angela's cat into the freezer to die, cause that was pretty messed up. I don't think it's him tho. Gabe 100%
It’s so kind of you to put Toby in the first place to explain that I don’t even need to watch the other theories. The timing, the motivation. All perfectly matched.
Love this video, AND you said “Sob-Ray”! 😂👍🏻 I think Skub was the Strangler after all. Toby went to the prison to talk to him and Skub strangled him! He had a neck brace on, couldn’t talk and Nellie was driving him back home.
He got strangled because he went in there and told him that HE is the stranger, because he felt guilty about convicting a innocent man. OVVIOUSLY that guy wouldn't be happy. It's Toby. Its always been Toby.
Todd Packer, obviously. Traveling salesman, always has an alibi. Definitely a serial misogynist. Ends up in Florida, where what's her name who never comes back is his first full-on murder victim - resulting from him being fired by California.
I thought Toby was confirmed the Strangler when the official youtube channel of office made a video about "making the strangler" with Toby's face on the thumbnail.
There is a deleted scene in the "Did I Stutter?" episode that I always found overlooked about Toby's behaviour. At the very end of the episode, Michael is leaving the office building late and whilst walking towards his car, Toby pops out from nowhere to ask what happened to Stanley. More specifically, asking about Michael's decision to fire Stanley. It always made me think that Toby planned to strangle Stanley, if he had indeed been fired. "You are the silent killer" ... "You'll see"
It was Dwight. He killed two people in San Francisco that was only solved by the great Adrian Monk. Dwight escaped the police and moved to Scranton. That's right, the office is part of the Monk Universe.
It also can't be Robert California , his own son is Bruce Wayne, you think the Batman wouldn't figure out that his dad is a... a.. wait... a sec..*Batman: Telltale* flashbacks... *Flashpoint Batman* flashbacks... (ok ok, I was just extremely excited to finally recognize _David Mazouz_ as Bert California, the little smirk he does to the camera after pranking Toby blew my mind, BRUCE WAYNE???? I've been a Batman fan all my life, and *Gotham* is one of my main guilty-pleasure-shows)
There is a theory that if you have watched The Blackmail Webisode of The Office, if you haven’t I’ll give a quick rundown. Pretty much Creed digs up dirt on a bunch of people as blackmail so that they could pay him so he can buy a r.c helicopter and one of the people is Toby who got the file, Andy tried complaining but Toby didn’t take action because Creed gave Toby a green file which contains the blackmail information and the theory is that Creed knows that Toby is the Scranton Strangler and that is why Toby didn’t take action which is a really good supporting evidence on why Toby IS the Scranton stranger and why creed IS NOT the Scranton strangler
ABOSLUTLEY LOVE THE POSTERS IN THE BACKGROUND!!! I won the Seattle parks and rec and office trivia so seeing them both represented is absolutely amazing to me!
Creed asked Phyllis as Santa what would happen if someone were bad. When she replied with "a lump of coal," Creed said, "What if you were really, really bad, more evil than strictly wrong" and if those aren't serial killer words I don't know what is.
I never expected to get into this video - I usually have an errant thought during office stuff that maybe Gabe was the strangler, but I wouldn’t have thought about it if it weren’t for the conspiracy theories. You unpack all this really well
Ok, so here's something to ponder. Toby goes to Costa Rica, his escape from Michael and having to watch Pam be with Jim. But he breaks his neck. Immobilized, and we can theorize it's tied into why he comes back to Scranton. So he comes back. His neck never heals, a dull throbbing pain to further remind him of how he couldn't get away. So he stalks others around him, hating thier happiness in the place he hates. The place he feels alone. So he gives them the pain he feels, attacking thier neck, not killing them, but giving them a bit of what he feels, and he's no longer alone.
That’s such a good theory! It must have been torture for him to spend so long confined to a hospital bed with neck injuries, and that’s exactly what he gives his victims - long hospital stays for their injured necks
The problem with Gabe is the fact that the article says "Scranton Strangle Strikes Again" implying that this same thing has been done before. Gabe was already a Sabre employee so we can assume he worked in Florida before DM was bought which would make it impossible for him to be the Scranton Strangler unless he copied the original Strangler.
never watched an episode of the office in my life, am i really going to watch an hour long video about theories about a mystery in the show? yes. yes i am.
There was part of a creed thing you missed and idk how you did. It was the wuphf episode whete creed asked how long are Jim's arms then asking how long he can hold his breathe, I really think thag was a inside thing yhe writers and such made about such.
So here's how I see the Dwight theory. I don't see him being the strangler but I do see him being some kind of kingpin for a gang of stranglers, namely Mose, Rolf (his best friend), Nate and potentially Scub. Dwight craves power and rarely gets it so I could see him sending people to do the stranglings and then the press/police assuming they're all the same culprit. He seems to attract personalities similar to himself and there are instances of Dwight manipulating others (to various succes). Dwight's farm would offer a good hideout since it's more rural and would be further distance from any police station (making escapes easier and also potentially also goid hiding locations) and would also be a convenient place to hide/bury a body (we've seen him dig horse graves before), where having digging equipment wouldn't rasise suspicion. My theory is that he manipulates his friends (again Mose, Rolf and Nate) into doing the stranglings, giving them helpful info on police and avoiding capture. As police (who wrongfully think that the strangler is one person) start to investigate further. Dwight looks for a scapegoat, and sees Scub's car in the parking lot. Dwight befriends Scub and manipulates him into the last strangling. Dwight then tips the police off on Scub which starts the police chase. Why the gang I have highlighted? Firstly there's Mose, someone who seems to be both dedicated and reliant on Dwight. They both also exude strange behaviour. Dwight also seems to think he takes care of Mose. I don't think it would be hard for Dwight to manipulate him. Next is Rolf, although only briefly appearing in the show his personality is similar to Dwight but also appears to have no filter (when speaking), we can see Rolf helping Dwight out when Dwight starts renovating the Halpert's kitchen, showing some loyalty to Dwight. We first meet Nate when he's hired by Dwight to work as a labourer. He does not appear to be very bright and is known to have some kind of disability or disabilities (think of his hearing problem). The fact the stranglings aren't killings may suggest a "coming to their senses" after coercion (although this is unlikely due to them remaining loyal to Dwight). All three of the people (although not explicitly mentioned or alluded to in the show as) have the potential to be seen as social outcasts. If they are, then it would be far easier for Dwight to befriend them and manipulate them (it may be the reason why he initially befriended Rolf and hired Nate in the first place). Befriending social outcasts and/or emotionally vulnerable people is a common tactic used by cults and gangs for recruitment, which often try to manipulate them when they're fully involved. Although we don't see Scub, the other three fit similar physical descriptions, for instance, short, white, middle aged, slim to medium build men, two have facial hair and two have dark hair. Through witnesses, this may also aid in the police thinking it's a single culprit. Dwight's personality, and mental state fit the kingpin idea better, he strikes as the type to get others to do his dirty work and he's not afraid to go to crazy lengths and over prepare. This theory explains why Toby isn't sure Scub is the strangler, perhaps Scub's testimony in court alluded to the strangler gang. This also explains why Dwight cuts Toby off at Michael's last dundees because he is trying to "censor" him and cover his own involvement. This also explains Scub's police chase and the successful conviction, because he's not entirely innocent. He'd also strangle Toby in rage because Toby helped convict Scub on more crimes than he committed (those being the stranglings by the others in the gang). Although not entirely innocent, Scub may bear some resentment to the jury that convicted him of crimes he was innocent of. I think this works better than the Bob Vance mob connection theory for two reasons. One, we can name actual culprits, potential locations of interest and motivations. Second, I don't know anything about the mob, but I think that the mob would rather go for something more clean than strangling
a refrigeration company is actually a type of contractor that installs refrigeration systems, for cold storage warehouses, food processing facilities, that sort of thing. big money
The way you describe how the strangler would feel while strangling is very detailed and makes me think you are the strangler. Have you been to Scranton?
The bob one is a reach but there is a deleted scene where Phyllis states bob doesnt report his real income to the IRS or any pays his employees in cash or something like that
Refrigeration companies are still very profitable. If Vance has a monopoly on the Scranton area that very much explains how hes loaded. Repairs and new installations aren’t cheap for industrial fridges/freezers. If he also has a residential repair service on top of that, yeah bro is rich af😂
19:35 I...I'm sorry did you just call Suspiria 'obscure'? It's a well known film among fans of horror movies...It was a bit too weird and artsy for my tastes but yeah it is basically like he describes it... (EDIT: sorry if this comment came off as pretensious or something, I get how to the average person Suspiria isn't as well known as something like Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th, Child's Play, or It...but still it's not on the same level as say The Mutilator)
I think another point in the "Creed" column is the fact that Jim said what he said as Creed enters the room. He's noticeably late (perhaps due to setting up Skub for the fall) and the writers had Jim specifically say that to distract from the fact he's late. I honestly forgot Jim even points that out until your video!
Who was the character that worked in the warehouse? I forget his name always, but the kinda weird dude that Daryl had gifted the cashmere gloves to by accident the one time. He seems like the type.
This was always my theory, but I hadn't realized before that the strangler didn't finish victims. It was the chili. That 'brings people together'. His simple nature being a crafted facade. I don't know the timing of his losing girlfriend etc.
It pretty much can only be toby, he is the only one with clues inside of the show of it being him in key moments where the strangler was a hot topic. He is the only character that is fixated with necks and crime, more specifically the criminal, like you said. He went back to talk with the suppossed strangler cause he needed to feel something again, you dont get strangled in prison by accident.
Michael feeling so strongly about Toby is also an indication to me.. Michaels intuition lets us know how Toby has some creepy aspects to himself deep down. Michael just wants to love his office family, but with Toby it's impossible
I think everything that points to Toby are red herrings. It would sense if it was Gabe bc he wouldn't have the physical strength to actually kill someone.

@@tiffanyx1163the newspaper said “Scranton strangler strikes again” though
All of these are correct
It's in the name: *scranton* strangler, it's the region of Scranton that did it, it originally started with an individual going on a small spree, which started copycats, who could very well have been everyone mentioned
This is unironically my favorite theory
Just like the Ass Crack Bandit in Community.
Everybody got scared and started strangling each other to try and avoid getting murdered, but then would think “oh no, now I look like the strangler!” and let go before they die.
Why do you have to bring cats into this!?
@@acasualcactus5878cool theory
My trouble with so many conspiracy theories about show is that if the writer says “no, that’s bullshit”, then there’s no “what do you think?”
@caniborrowyourdog3681 I think even if it wasn't the writers intention I don't think that matters lol
I believe it's not toby,
but the theory that it's someone else in the office is plausible.
They only confirmed it wasn't toby.
@@ChrissaTodd did you watch the video? They said the guy who was convicted did it. Ruined any speculation
Unless he hired someone…
Unless he lied!
That's why none of them died
I first didn't understand how you could possibly say "David Wallace" anywhere before the end of the list, but as you finished the introduction a single sentence crept uninvited into my mind:
"He imagines them with Michael's face".
And then I was surprised you didn't mention him earlier 😂
I feel like someone strangling people only to unconsciousness is infinitely weirder than a serial killer who's MO is strangling. I wish they at least mentioned that offhandedly in a news report on the show if truly intended that way.
I can’t believe you took time from kidnapping Alvin and the Chipmunks to put together this comprehensive iceberg
You are a terrible person.
I laughed way too much at this comment.
That is a funny joke

Here's another out there theory.... Phyllis likes drama, likes to get Bob involved. She challenges people, perhaps gets too drunk starts strangling people but can't finish. In true love fashion Bob finishes the job in true Manson family style?

Creed is the strangler. Its so apparent and obvious everyone just overlooks it. He is a mysterious and shady character, showed up with blood all over him on a Halloween episode and creed said it himself in an interview that they didn't catch the right guy
Hey, no one accuses Creed Braton. The last person who tried was never heard from again. And his name... was Creed Braton.
I dont think so, just too easy
the strangler never killed anyone, he strangles
It's kinda funny that the central aspects of Creed's character at first was that of a weird, eccentric but kind-hearted old man who sometimes grappled with the fact that he peaked decades ago and now lives a washed up existence in some nothing office building only for him to suddenly be written as a maniac probably-murderer who sold drugs and was according to Ryan, incredibly unhinged in private.
There’s no blood when you strangle someone😂
I think the fact that the stranger never killed anyone is a good indicator that it’s Gabe, he would likely never be able to bring himself to kill someone, yet enjoy the power that came with knowing that he could.
I'm halfway through and I have to say the Toby theory is the best so far
love the theory that denis from IASIP is the scranton strangler
unrelated but man, I used to see your pfp all the time about 10 years ago but never thought about it recently, kinda nostalgic in a way.
The pfp goes hard.
I love this theory too

I honestly thought somewhere around Gabe and Robert California would be Meredith as I've heard that mentioned a few times. She very impulsive, has a drinking problem and seems like a somewhat physically strong person. This isn't a 100% sound theory but I think it's important to consider that there are female characters that could have been the strangler. The Office also does not say the gender, age or anything about the victims of the strangler, so it's a bit of a jump to assume it could not have been any of the women in the office.
Karen was the strangler. She hid out in Pawnee.
Her motivation was dealing with Jim.
I honestly just can't see it but I'm a diehard Ryan fan so maybe I'm biased. Creed, scub or Toby all seem so much more likely.
Wasn’t Ryan at the desk with everyone else watching the car chase though?
@@acleanpairofsocks exactly, wouldn’t someone who wanted to avoid suspicion make sure he wasn’t the odd one out, and also he could be seeing if his framing on skub worked out.
I think if Ryan ever snapped he’d actually kill people in the office or those who wronged him
i think toby is a lot cooler than most people gave him credit for. the only person that rlly didnt like him was michael
Yeah he was in that club with Pam and Oscar, I doubt they’d spend time with him if he wasn’t at least mildly interesting.
What about Roy? He lost Pam to Jim. And he went crazy when they had their Cece.
No, Roy got a redemption arc, I don't think it makes any sense that he'd start strangling people. Also, during that time Roy was kinda unhinged. Seems unlikely he'd avoid killing if he was already choking someone out.
bro the way you keep describing strangling sounds like YOURE the scranton strangler
What if it’s none of them and it’s the. Camera crew or the audio guys. We never see their faces or who they really are… They could always make us think it’s one of the guys from The Office. They can leave the scene and no one will know it’s them but will make us think it’s the people mentioned in the video.Than again I could just be yapping… 💀
Creed's insanity is more just cooky than violent
Brilliant Chris, truly some of your best work
amazing video amazing editing amazing analysis. thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
It's Dennis Reynolds.
It's Toby. Paul leberstien told me.
The Golden god
because of the implication
It’s still the most likely person out of the cast. You can be awkward and a serial killer IE Elliot Roger
But yeah tl;dr, this comment is a bit misleading. Ted Bundy was the charming and handsome exception that proved the rule, he was not himself the norm.
It just felt mean.
They'll see
In the surplus episode Michael calls Toby the “silent killer” and then Toby says “one day you’ll see”
Wasnt there multiple writers throughout the strangler episodes? That automatically discredits any sort of appeal to authority fallacy, but even then, the fact the strangler strangled Toby makes it seem like it the real one was caught after all.
I believe pam's reference of the death penalty referred to him pranking dwight and accidentally crossing a line.
Kind of surprised I haven't seen anyone bringing up Dwight shoving Angela's cat into the freezer to die, cause that was pretty messed up. I don't think it's him tho. Gabe 100%
He didnt tho, he thought he put down Sprinkles with pills and wanted to preserve her body. Sprinkles then threw up and froze to death by accident
Gabe physically can't he's a bitch
It’s so kind of you to put Toby in the first place to explain that I don’t even need to watch the other theories. The timing, the motivation. All perfectly matched.
Thanks!
Yeah but the theory is toby got strangled cause he admitted he was the strangler.
That could have been faked by Toby.
All good points! 👍🏻😃
Todd Packer, obviously. Traveling salesman, always has an alibi. Definitely a serial misogynist. Ends up in Florida, where what's her name who never comes back is his first full-on murder victim - resulting from him being fired by California.
The problem with Creed is that there is too much evidence that he is a killer, so why would he leave his victims alive.
I thought Toby was confirmed the Strangler when the official youtube channel of office made a video about "making the strangler" with Toby's face on the thumbnail.
It can't be Dwight. He is the closest thing the series has to a hero.
Maybe the Scranton Strangler is the friends we made along the way
Hour long video let’s go!
watched the whole thing while playing GTAO good video very well put together
There is a deleted scene in the "Did I Stutter?" episode that I always found overlooked about Toby's behaviour. At the very end of the episode, Michael is leaving the office building late and whilst walking towards his car, Toby pops out from nowhere to ask what happened to Stanley. More specifically, asking about Michael's decision to fire Stanley. It always made me think that Toby planned to strangle Stanley, if he had indeed been fired.
"You are the silent killer"
...
"You'll see"
I love how they made scranton look like it's not a complete shit hole
It was Dwight. He killed two people in San Francisco that was only solved by the great Adrian Monk. Dwight escaped the police and moved to Scranton. That's right, the office is part of the Monk Universe.
hold on 🤣im obsessed with this take
I love the idea that all of the classics from public television circa 2010 are all from the same universe 😂
Well in that case, Angela was definitely his accomplice. She also killed in San Francisco and that case was also solved by Adrian Monk.
I've been a Batman fan all my life, and *Gotham* is one of my main guilty-pleasure-shows)
My man
10K Bill!! Where's my Arrested Development ranking????????
Yes @10KProductions, where’s our Arrested Development Ranking???????
Mmmm I’ll never tell
This was cool to see it outlined in this way, great video as always!
You unpack all this really well
Gabe doesn't have the lung capacity to blow a whistle. How the heck is he going to strangle somebody, then make a quick getaway?
Thats a good point. Even tho toby seems too obvious he has all the credentials and physical capabilities.
I'm not saying it's Toby, - - but it's Toby.
You missed the most likely and most obscure explanation: it's Dennis Reynolds!
I knew it. It was him all along.
Creed doing the "smack, scream, run" is still one of my favorite bits in the whole show 😂😂😂😂
everyone, collectively, is the Scranton strangler, unknowingly.
maybe the scranton strangler was just the friends we made along the way…
I do like Jims "its not who i thought it was cause they walked in" then creeds appears with "sup weirdos" 🤣
Wasn't it Gabe who just walked in..?
@@sophia1533 Gabe does walk in later, but Jim specifically thought it was Creed.
never watched an episode of the office in my life, am i really going to watch an hour long video about theories about a mystery in the show? yes. yes i am.
I think Creed doesn’t have a chance. It’s plausible, but he’s not capable of “strangling but not killing”. He’s already capable of murder
FYI: The actor David Mazouz who plays Roberts Son also plays Bruce Wayne in Gotham.
Does that mean Professor Strange is the Scranton Strangler?
Bro what an amazing video. I love this bit 😂
If toby is the strangler, Michael should be charged also for pushing him
There was part of a creed thing you missed and idk how you did. It was the wuphf episode whete creed asked how long are Jim's arms then asking how long he can hold his breathe, I really think thag was a inside thing yhe writers and such made about such.
Oh boy an hour video about a subject I’ve never heard about
So here's how I see the Dwight theory.
I've also read other comments saying that Dwight has killed in the past so I guess that adds to the theory
a refrigeration company is actually a type of contractor that installs refrigeration systems, for cold storage warehouses, food processing facilities, that sort of thing. big money
Ryan might not be the Strangler, but he started the fire!
The way you describe how the strangler would feel while strangling is very detailed and makes me think you are the strangler. Have you been to Scranton?
Really appreciated the video, expecially for the effort you must've put in it to just writing it and finding all the theories/sources...congrats!
Interesting video, thanks. I always thought it could be Toby but it was fun to go through the list of suspicions.
The bob one is a reach but there is a deleted scene where Phyllis states bob doesnt report his real income to the IRS or any pays his employees in cash or something like that
He also beats up anyone who flirts with Phyllis
I love this idea. Subscribed.
I can’t imagine Toby being the strangler
Refrigeration companies are still very profitable. If Vance has a monopoly on the Scranton area that very much explains how hes loaded. Repairs and new installations aren’t cheap for industrial fridges/freezers. If he also has a residential repair service on top of that, yeah bro is rich af😂

I...I'm sorry did you just call Suspiria 'obscure'?
It's a well known film among fans of horror movies...It was a bit too weird and artsy for my tastes but yeah it is basically like he describes it...
(EDIT: sorry if this comment came off as pretensious or something, I get how to the average person Suspiria isn't as well known as something like Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th, Child's Play, or It...but still it's not on the same level as say The Mutilator)
That Wallace theory works way too well
I think another point in the "Creed" column is the fact that Jim said what he said as Creed enters the room.
No Kevin? Worries about his computer being gone through, and gets excited when eats tacos...crushing them...(the tacos are really his victims).
This was always my theory, but I hadn't realized before that the strangler didn't finish victims.
It was the chili. That 'brings people together'. His simple nature being a crafted facade. I don't know the timing of his losing girlfriend etc.
Oooh, I like the Bob Vance theory!
“Does some small part of you want something stronger” that was deep
