Who would expect that in the oldest wow version there are quests that take you in a cross continental journey at level 20 and reward you with an amazing weapon? This is actually epic and I can't imagine how it'd feel to finish this. I don't play alliance but I might go ret pala in classic, or night elf priest (shadow meld mind controlling people for fun)
that's the thing, unpolished games are often much more fun to explore. This is similar to many other products. In the early days, when the creators are still figuring things out, the most memorable things happen. Then later when everything is streamlined, it's less magical but more usable. That's why you have people who love modern WoW and others who love Classic, and I am glad Blizz is finally getting the hint that those two groups are very different and shouldn't be forced into one game.
I did it back in the day. The feeling was so good. I remember not changing it for a long time. Still have it in my bank along with Mallet of Zul'Farrak :)

me at level 20 with the help of my level 20 warrior friend made the trip from stormwind all the way to shadowfang keep on foot. we were not aware of the tram at the time so at level 20 we walked into the burning steppes, did the ironforgevthing there and after finding arathi highland was too high level for us, we jumped into the water by Stromgrade and swam along the coast until we got to shore near undercity. We did this on a pvp server. my friend sacrifice himself in shadowfang keep as a distraction for me to quickly grab the ore while horde pvpers was waiting for us outside shadow fang entrance.

This quest I think is the first quest that forces paladin to explore higher level zones, different continent and lots and lots of walking :) But still I very fondly remember the first day I completed my Verigan's Fist quest line. I think I used it till like level ~33~35 ?? It is very powerful OP blue quality weapon really for it's level.
Just completed this quest at 24 and I have a great sense of satisfaction receiving this weapon. The hardest part is getting a group to SFK but I am fortunate enough to find an awesome party. The quest is worth all the trouble guys!
This is a very well produced guide. Big Well done to that! I'm annoyed I didn't see this video regarding this quest until after several others as this surpasses them. I just finished Soloing this. Jordan's Smithing Hammer is the toughest but most fun part to solo. It took 30 minutes from the beginning of the dungeon. If you plan to solo this, I advise kiting with as much space as possible (gets easier as you clear more space). When you have to fight 2 mobs, kill one and exit the dungeon & reenter so then only one is left. Rinse & repeat. You can open the cage for the Alliance NPC (middle door) using Divine Protection when close & speak to him & he will open the door that leads to the courtyard where you'll clear the rest of the mobs until the hammer. My only suggestion for this guide would be some screenshots perhaps to more clearly familiarise the viewer with the scenario they will be facing. Good job~ *Edit* I was level 23 with some green/blue from Deadmines/Stockades & a Green lvl 20 2H Hammer.

Really appreciate these guides and your love for vanilla, your channel has been instrumental to my enjoyment of vanilla, and will continue to be once classic drops!
I distinctly remember completing this quest during vanilla wow on my paladin at level 22. It was an unbelievable adventure full of challenges. The rewarding feeling of receiving Verigan's Fist for the first time rivals almost anything I've done in wow. After equipping the mace i returned to Westfall and started whomping on some gnolls to test it out and vividly remember being in holy shock when i white crit for over 200 damage!
I legit did this quest in vanilla on my pala that still is my main to this day. I had to get allot of help to complete this, the sense adventure was so awesome in this quest chain. The item in the cave near bfd was brutal to get with tons of horde around. Eventually getting the weapon and seal of command was do awesome!!
Man I can't frickin wait to play a paladin and do this quest. Just imagining 5 paladins running across the world on an epic quest to get a big hammer makes me hype!

Don’t bop at the last wave of the daphne quest, you drop aggro and they all jump on her, just health pot/heal, or Lay on Hands and mana pot. If you need to bop, do it when there’s no more than 3 left to kill, it’s better than having all 5 on her and it gives you enough time to heal both you and her.
Yeah I can't wait for classic to drop. Back when I played wow from classic to WOTLK I only played Horde. So this time around I'm rolling Alliance to get a different experience. I'm definitely making a paladin and this guide will definitely help with obtaining this weapon. Great job on making this video. Please keep them coming. You guys ROCK!!!
I'd say with bag space at a premium, leave the soloable part (ore shipment in Loch Modan) for last. That way you'll keep that valuable extra space for the three dungeon runs. You don't want to get the ore early and have it take up space for a long time if you can't find a group. When you finally have the dungeon items, grab the easy ore and get that Verigan's Fist!
I finished this at level 21 but that was because I leveled due to beating all of Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep on the same day. Good the running on foot was long and arduous but it felt good getting that hammer. I'm still using it at level 26 and it feels great. You can probably use the weapon until level 29.
oh man i totally forgot about this quest! my first character was a paladin and i remember this really opened my eyes to how much of an adventure WoW could be! edit: oh man that ogre part was brutal i remember a bunch of strangers helped me out
i remember getting this weapon back in vanilla for the first time. It felt really good and I felt really powerful using this weapon. I've always kept this weapon in my bank when ever I make a new pally toon because this weapon is very nostalgic for me.
Since this is for new players, I would suggest telling them what the Coordinates are and how to use them. You need an addon and there are various ones that tell you the coordinates of where you're standing. I never downloaded any, so I can't suggest any. I just found things the hard way lol but this also made me very good at remember where things are in the game.
Not to long, but long enough to explain it all, where, when and what to do. And extra nice with the pictures and video to show where and what quests, soloable or not, and strategy for doing it. If only all vids u find on yt regarding how to/guides etc was like this. Thx :)
I'm going to be trying to accomplish this on my classic era hardcore paladin. It's going to be interesting, because if I die, I delete my character. I can't group for any open world quests and can only do each dungeon at the appropriate level once with fellow hardcore players. Thanks for the guide.

It's actually surprisingly not that hard to get an SFK group as Alliance. Not only do Paladins need it for their quest, the excellent drops from SFK will always attract any class but especially casters as both the Robe and the Belt that drop from Arugal are both amazing pieces that will last them at least 10 levels.
did all the items except the hammer. keep getting ganked by horde :( annnd haven't found any other paladin's willing to do the quest. UPDATE: got one of my warrior friends and escorted him to shadowfang as he doesnt have any of the gryphons there yet. Found a random mage and he agreed to help me up to the first boss. and done!! thanks for guide!
thanks so much :D Im level 23 and started this today, solod getting the ore shipment fine, got the lumber in a deadmines group, and small step but I walked all the way to hillsbrad foolhills for the flight path haha. Just need to find a crazy enough group to want to do shadowfang keep
@@miguelangelherrerab9655 I've got the rest of the parts, but sadly no. theres just lots of people saying WTB/WTS dungeon boosts in the cities and no actual dungeon groups anymore. When I suggest shadowfang keep no one wants to do it, people even laughing it off just saying its a bad method for getting to max level. Here I thought the levelling mattered in classic but no its just turned into a rush to max level as well :/ I kind of lost steam with playing classic, all I was doing was logging in, spamming in chat for a while and trying to whisper lots of people with no luck.
The part of the Naga I was lucky I could solo it in the entrance of the cave, I got it after my 3rd or 4th Naga. Level 23 paladin, my gear was the average mail greens with stamina, spirit, and strength, plus one ring with intellect. I pulled the mobs one by one to a corner. I used concentration, redoubt, blessing of wisdom, improved seal of righteousness, flash heal, patience, profit.
Why is it again that you want your weapon to be slow? is it because of the synergizing with Seal of Righteousness or is it something to do with Seal of Command or what is it? I never learned it
Slow weapons (>3.5) work beter with Seal of Command because of the higher weapon dmg (SoC proc deals 70% weapon damage). faster weapons (3.5 speed use SoC and use SoR for weapons with
I'll save you 15 min and a few days' time... get a 60 to power you through the quest... All kidding aside, such a fun quest and not nearly as punishing or as much of a letdown as the warrior armor quest.
How to play paladin in Classic WoW : do this quest , be happy, shelf your paladin, because this is as good as it gets. Then wait until TBC comes out, when the class is fixed.
forgot about this quest and then noticed at lvl 29 it rewarded this awesome weapon.. while still walking around with 18.6 dmg/second mace... feelsbadman
As you can get boosted in stockade, well past the level req for this weapon i found this quest a bit waste of time to be honest as i can get a better mace after lvl 27...
I started this quest but died in the Daphne Stillwell part, it said quest failed and Duthorian won't let me get the quest again. Is there any way to get the quest again from Duthorian or am I fucked?

Another good strat is using the Flash Bundles you get from an early Duskwood quest, I've found! :) The aoe chunks their health

Purified Kor Gem has a 2% drop chance, doesn't drop on the first couple of elites, or the first 10...

You can group up not only with paladins - warlocks also have a quest which leads them to both SFK and BFD

I'm lvl 21. And a fellow lvl 23 helped me with DM and BFD. And for SFK I asked a random lvl 60 who said yes! Sh to them. Real legends!

He is a friend of Jordan, who dies in battle. Jordan told whole story when you will done this questline.

yes but the bosses increase in level, if you want this right at 20 you really dont wanna / cant do the whole dungeon, it may be a huge time sink

I had a grp for DM, the rest of it I did solo at lvl 26
I started this quest but died in the Daphne Stillwell part, it said quest failed and Duthorian won't let me get the quest again. Is there any way to get the quest again from Duthorian or am I fucked?

This weapon is totally worth the trouble. It lasts well into the 30s.
