Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

with the new impact damage I'd like to see how powerful the cube launcher is now as a weapon, especially if you add stacked pistons to boost its velocity

@johnderat2652 I believe they are referring to the metal crate dispenser, which when launched with piston acceleration in the previous update, was ridiculously overpowered

Even though it is from Robot Wars and not Battlebots, the only correct starting phrase is:
"Roboteers, stand by. 3, 2, 1... Activate!"
The startup phrase for battle bots is, “Battlebots! Activate!”

1 - Make 2 bots and have 2 people in each bot, 1 to drive while 1 controlls whatever weapon system you build.
2 - Make 2 giant bots that split apart into 2 mini bots for team battles (1 giant bot per 2 person team).

And how you tally the points can br the last man standing + the number of kills and the one with the most points wins
Hybrid Battlebots. Everyone gets a minigun or maybe a blaster but, thanks to the ammo system Scrapman developed with logic, they only get 2 clips. Outside of that they are stuck with melee.
Whenever someone gets KO'd, the survivors get to reset their ammo counter.
That would mean they would restore all damaged body parts
@@muhammadkaram-fz1qoNo, the ammo is made with logic so the guns actually have infinite ammo. It’s just that you can code in an ammo system (it’ll be rechargeable)

I kinda want someone to make a scorpion bot with the gun in the tail and 2 melee claws, but that might be too much to ask on a block limit.
@@FuelDropforthewin Also, the Tail would likely need loads of Hinges to construct it and Hinges are OP.
The devs did an awesome job with the new damage mechanics. They made the game more entertaining for sure.
At 7:23 the tagline for Battlebots is, “Battlebots, ACTIVATE!”
You can tell someone is a die hard gamer when they describe rl battlebots as "they start hitting each other and go flying across the map."
Battle bot but all with projectiles, it will be fun throwing things to your enemy, make it limited thou, to make the melee more useful
Bot evolution: Everybody has to modify the winning bot each round.
Balloon pop: Each player has a single balloon attached to them. You must pop the others' balloon. You cannot destroy the vehicle, only pop the balloon. (aside:would physics allow balloons to be dragged behind a plane somehow for a ribbon slice dogfight?)
Twisted Metal style race: Repairing means Xseconds of "wait" before taking off again penalizing reckless driving/ramming. After each round, the person in first place AND last place get advantage of some sort. e.g. Swap creations with someone, pick a player to remove a single (non-critical) piece from their creation, spend Xseconds modifying your creation. Up to you.
Figure 8 race: Focus creations on racing (not demo. derby). Same first and last conditions as above.
Make creations to race on the Multi-Track World Racing world on Steam workshop.
I just remembered an old toy called "crush gear" which was basically jousting with toy cars and trying to make bits fall off.
No controls, just head on collision.

I recently thought about battleships in a similar way to these. A battle developing only melee weapons or tipping mechanisms like hooking and tipping or something. Regulations should at least be: should float, no underwater seat, no gyros

MM scrap mechanic idea:
Snake! Build long articulating snake cars with a sensor on the front, if you drive into something/someone you are out.
I bet the devs did this to see what chaos the RUclipsrs could theoretically cause, and were not let down at all
Battle bots is 3, 2, 1, let the bot battle begin. One of my favorite shows.
Idea: Battlebot Evolution Golf.
Any time someone loses, they MUST add 10 more parts to their machine. The winner of a round, if there is a winner, does NOT add any parts. The winner at the end is whoever has the bot with the fewest parts.
This episode is a instant classic! The pure chaos and authentic fun, made this post very fun to watch. I wish it was longer 🥺😮💨
2 people in 1 battlebot, tank steering, one person controls left side, the other right side 200 block limit, 4 people 4 creations, make teams by random, build in teams

It'd be cool to see a flipper only video, I think it'd be funny to see bots flying everywhere, falling into the traps, it'd be chaos.
It was cool see the bot variations, we had a vertical and horizontal spinners, a classic wedge, and umm balloons! Other bot variations that'd be cool to see, Flippers, Drum Spinners, Hammer Bots, Grabbers, Full Body(or Shell) Spinners, but more than anything could some one please recreate the battlebot "HUGEEEEE" and use it in one of these competitions for the lols.

Maybe huge bots with explosives placed around the exterior? Or a flipper only wrestling match, who can design the best flipper and knock the other out of one of the arenas, maybe the beyblade arena.
I love how you all just went double down on the battlebot theme for the builds.
4:20 You should really do some videos testing how damage propagates through blocks and how different blocks take damage. I know in some games, like From the Depths, larger blocks get bonus HP and/or armor specifically to encourage their use over spamming lots of little blocks. It would be interesting to see if Trail Makers does something similar.

Always do it with size classes like they do irl where it has to fit within a set part limit or size limit like x amount of blocks squared

You should do some multi-player races now
You should make battle bots with a limit of 500 blocks, and then every time someone wins, everyone takes the winning vehicle and takes blocks away by 100 every time. And or add things with the limit of removing 100 blocks

I paused right after the presentation of everyone’s battlebot to write this comment. All you guys are great. This is destined to be some good fun. Thank you. I wish you could make a monkey bar challenge in Trail Makers. I really liked that video in Scrape Mechanic. Have a good one Scrap.
You should try and do a derby where everyone has a pusher facing down into the ground. But you and your opponent have EMP so when to the pushers get activated you get rocketed in to the air by the pistons. Though there would be the issue of when the pusher breaks there is no threat, but maybe you can run with idea and see what happens.
Maybe try... A whip or something like that? It'd be a cool new test with the new damage to see how a whip will work, maybe one with hinges...

All I’m remembering while watching this is pawsitively hilarious in NHRL and how funny that would be in trailmakers to see
this new damage update has made the game way more fun and funny
Set up a bridge battle. Whoever gets to the other side. Destroy or knock off your oppponent, or if you both get by, first one to the end.
Omg i love this video!! Yall should set up leagues, like 100 max blocks, 200 max, 300, 400, 500. Thats at least another 4 video ideas! Same rules as this video, just more blocks for more creative melee weapons
I would love to see BattleBots but with much bigger vehicles, like a 300 block limit or even more

For the next one of these you do, you should make a PINCHING bot. like a big pair of tweezers / two hands ready to clap on someone else's bot.

scrapman, always when you make all wheel steering, there is one flaw - you cannot steer when there is half of the wheels are gone. it's better make only outter wheels steer and middle ones make static

I think a great Battlebots weapon would be a bangstick, have a dynamite on a stick triggered when a min-distance sensor on front triggers. In order to avoid any false positives while on your side, you could hook up an AND gate linked to a distance sensor on the bottom of your battlebot too.
Should do a weekly battle bot video, this is great.
build a giant spinner with a car inside of the spinner using power couplers to show which way is forward. use the space rockets to spin at like 9000 mph

Some advice for multi wheeled builds, if you have 6 or more wheels then you want to have at least one set in the middle as non steering with steering in front and behind them to increase the variations of wheels that can be lost before effective steering control is lost. To steer properly you need a difference in angle between two sets of wheels, therefore a straight and turning set fulfills that. Also for 8+ wheel builds, having varying steering angle between sets of wheels that turn in the same direction can still allow turning better than equal steering angle in the case that they are the only remaining two sets of wheels.

Build a vehicle that can fight swim and drive so you could do a land race, water race and a battle. (Maybe do the battle in an arena partly submerged)

Hey Scrap, hope you see my comment. So, everytime you do a melee fight, or, even this battlebot, I always remember the power couplers... and I think, maybe they could be used as a weapon spinning really fast with something solid on the tip... Dunno, but might be a good idea! Love the vids! Thanks for the content!
I think it would be cool to do a science video where you explore the dmg model and how dmg propagates through out the build so you can better optimize your battel bot. Then with this knowledge passed along do a 200 block battle bot build challenge.
