Beautiful video! A little helpful hint with the GoPro when its daytime is to turn your exposure down a bit so the video doesnt get whitewashed from the bright sun. Glad to see a 1080p60fps upload! Your video really shows some killer aspects of mammoth.
I love this trail...I wish it was an hour long.I use your videos by setting up my stationary bike in front of my computer and pedal my ass off...keep'em coming :)
man this is a nice video i mostly enjoyed it because of how we can see the track infront but at the same time we can see how you are manovering your front wheel and the impact that it gets
Nice run! none of my friends wanted to do those runs when we were up there this summer... but now I know what I am doing next year for sure. Love that mountain!
This has made me more excited to use my new mountain bike, I got a Trek Marlin 5 yesterday and I can't wait to go on the trail this afternoon. Great video!
+petestrat07 Get a solid "Enduro" all mountain bike unless you live close to ski lift assisted parks. Most all are fully capable of world class downhill trails.
That is some good riding and a nice, smooth track. What is actually the use of a visor, only to block direct sunlight? I guess yours has an opening for extra bike perspective? :)
Man, that bright sun must had given you a really hard time deciding where to go next or, how you should take a turn! Just by watching this video, I got really confused at some points of the trail.
Yaaah mon! Recoil and Twilight Zone are tasty. I love making tracks there. Hopefully by August my leg is all fully healed and ready to rip. I got my downhill bike set up on a kinetic machine because my Orthopedist said to do that first, looked at me serious but with a laugh "Not one to fall off of right now" haha. But I have not been on my bike since the end of November and I am jonsing. Maybe our paths will cross on the trails in Mammoth one day. Sick vid!!
Healing vibes your way man, almost there. That first berm is going to feel so good! See you in the park soon (but don't forget to change that rear trainer tire before hitting the trails!)
Funny you say that, I took this picture just last week on that trail: imgur.com/5pUZg9Z It's going to take a while until that trail opens! The ramps are stored nearby, they move them as needed.
i always wondered, do u haveto pay something to goto those bike parks? u pay for each descent? how does that work i dont know cuz there is no bike parks near me ;(
+defToZzz Typically, you pay for a lift ticket which is accessible to all of the ski lifts, similar to how it works when skiing/snowboarding. Most of the time the park will also rent out bikes, gear, equipment etc. As far as I know, it's primarily the lift ticket, aside from lunch, etc.
Although I've never been to a park with lift access for MTB, (I have for snowboarding), I would assume it is the same price. It totally depends on where you go, but I would expect a Mammotj ticket to be anywhere from $50-$100. I'd check on their website.
+defToZzz I was there over Father's Day. The lift ticket was about $27 for the whole day. As many runs as you can/want to make. Also includes bus connection from Mammoth Village to the lifts. They've got a great couple of trails from the lifts down to the village so you can leave your car parked.
Yes, the Nomad is a more capable downhill machine while still in the 'enduro' range. I've never ridden one but it would be a sick bike for Mammoth for sure.
+Ben Goyette I rented one in Whistler about a month ago and I absolutly fell in love with the bike. I rented many other bikes and the Santa Cruz Nomad felt the best. Im going to get one the second I have enough money too (:
looks like a real thrill! do the wood bridges and ramp sections get all slick and nasty over time though? most of the ones I've seen are good to a point but need some sand paper material to keep them grippy
+vincent gaines I know what you mean, I come from the muddy North. But surprisingly in California we don't see much sandpaper or poultry netting on wooden bridges and they stay dry and grippy.
OMG, that was awesome, not crazy extreme on a professional level but it looks like something I could possibly do some day. How do I not know about these bike parks? Was that the most difficult line they have, and I assume they have beginner lines to build your way up to that??
They have plenty of beginner and intermediate runs, Mammoth is a great place for progression. And yeah, it also gets much gnarlier than this on the pro lines
I saw the double black diamond at the start. What makes this one? Is it the speed you were travailing at, or was there some obstacle I missed? I ask because I want ti get into this kind of riding
+nate mansur I don't think this trail was properly rated since it doesn't look like any Double Black I've been on, more of an easy black or hard blue. They get ratings for the obstacles and jumps. Most Blue runs have small jump and obstacles and ways to avoid each of them if you find them to big. Blue are also not very steep. Blacks Have bigger obstacles and they are steeper and sometimes they have ways to avoid hitting the obstacles or jumps. Double blacks are the steepest most technical trails and have jumps or obstacles that are unavoidable. If you want to start this kind of riding I recommend going to the GMBN channel on RUclips.
I live near Mont Sainte-Anne and went for a couple rides but man I wish we had more trails. I want to go there someday. I rented bikes 3 times (caus I cant afford a DH bike right now) and passed some guys with season passes on the world cup track :) I'm pretty sure I could ride this one! Nice video man!
MisterZhivago WheelieMaster but mt saint anne is like one of the best parks in the world! Also, you quebecois got vaillee bras du nord. Heard its pretty rad. Over here in new england, we got highland and kingdom trails... Still better than most of the east coast though ;)
I'm surprised they classify that trail as a double black. Its fast and somewhat technical but not a lot of nasty rock gardens, drop off's etc.... Nice video though!!
Theres something about this that makes it very satisfying to watch
+Zonda probably the smoothness of 60fps
+Zonda probably the fact they is no music also.
+Zonda and also the awesome wide angle and the daylight colour
I was gonna say the same exact thing
+Assertive Biker. Damn, that's exactly what I'm doing right now 😂
I love the cheese graters they place on ramps and curves to ensure proper exfoliation should you dismount.
grinds um to dust, they turn into fresh trail, cycles complete
High Alpine LOL @ "fresh trail".
If you've rode MTB at mammoth you'd understand that you're on "kitty litter", "Moon dirt"... shit is so loose
Mammoth is the best place to throw roost and look like a badass lol.
I love how he says sorry for the bad audio but it makes it way more satisfying to watch
The trail looks fun and not so bad.. Except for the thin ass little bridges in the beginning.
Mijail Jones I think balancing is one of the easier parts personally
Mijail Jones you can bypass them
This video got me into MTB back in 2016 lol. Tks for the inspiration!
Beautiful video! A little helpful hint with the GoPro when its daytime is to turn your exposure down a bit so the video doesnt get whitewashed from the bright sun. Glad to see a 1080p60fps upload! Your video really shows some killer aspects of mammoth.
thanks for the video. it's a bit refreshing that there's no sound. just you riding the trail. nice bike handling, by the way. 👏👍👍👍
Ive never seen mammoth without any snow. Its so weird seeing mccoys station like that
Those are my two favorite trails at this bike park, it's simply an amazing run! Stokes me for this upcoming year. Great vid, thanx!
Ah Mammoth, such a beautiful place in the winter and summer. Great place for fishing trout too.
I love this trail...I wish it was an hour long.I use your videos by setting up my stationary bike in front of my computer and pedal my ass off...keep'em coming :)
Really fun to watch. The Twilight Zone looks really fast with crazy fast switchbacks.
man this is a nice video i mostly enjoyed it because of how we can see the track infront but at the same time we can see how you are manovering your front wheel and the impact that it gets
wow what an amazing and long ride
Nice run! none of my friends wanted to do those runs when we were up there this summer... but now I know what I am doing next year for sure. Love that mountain!
This has made me more excited to use my new mountain bike, I got a Trek Marlin 5 yesterday and I can't wait to go on the trail this afternoon. Great video!
oh yeah! Have fun riding that sweet new bike!

looks like a super fun trail!
I'm hooked on this already and I haven't even got my first bike yet. Looks like sooo much fun!
+petestrat07 do downhill, heaps of fun
+petestrat07 Get a solid "Enduro" all mountain bike unless you live close to ski lift assisted parks. Most all are fully capable of world class downhill trails.
Looks like a lot of fun!
Looks like a nice trail and a good ride.
Twilight Zone looked like a sweet run. Nice Ride!
keep it up. pleasure to watch. almost therapeutic.
That looks like fun. That's kind of my trail. No big jumps, just go fast down hill. lol.I would like to try it some day.
So quiet. Wheres the WOOO!!!!? YEAH!!!!? Lol
Cam Shaft i dont think you need this at this trail
That is some good riding and a nice, smooth track. What is actually the use of a visor, only to block direct sunlight? I guess yours has an opening for extra bike perspective? :)
+olivierhacking Sun block, style and some face plant protection. Mostly style.
oh damn! what a smooth run ! wish there be tracks like that near where i live :(
nice Idea with the shot at the start and ending. like that.
Looks like a great ride.
awesome bike park...
almost going to buy my cube aim sl 29. using my gopro im the woods here on the trial. will soon upload some stuff! MTB Rulezz
Finally, someone in Cali with me!
This looks like an awesome trail to ride! If I've ever in California, I'm gonna make it a mission of mine to ride it! :D
My kind of riding bro, I'm getting to old to ride up hill to much and the ground is getting harder to fall on.Great video 👍🏻
one of the best vids I've seen
Man, that bright sun must had given you a really hard time deciding where to go next or, how you should take a turn! Just by watching this video, I got really confused at some points of the trail.

Thanks man! I dream about that first berm. Haha I definitely won't forget that. See you there!
great run and video nice control. not sure about the double diamond rating though.
Great job, Mother Nature :D and Your builders, great job too ;)
I like how you ride. You jusz know your and your bikes limits. I like it.
This is awesome ! Makes me wanna ride
Mammoth is always a fun place to ride.
Missed that jump at 6:27! Huffy can't take it?
Do they rebuild all the wooden stuff after winter or does it just stay there? They probably get some snow there.
Funny you say that, I took this picture just last week on that trail: imgur.com/5pUZg9Z
It's going to take a while until that trail opens! The ramps are stored nearby, they move them as needed.
I was thinking it would cost a small fortune to maintain those wooden bridges and berms.
Sweet place Ben 👌 I just finished putting a film together MTB in Tas (hurt in tree accident) nice place.! loved your footage a must go place 👍👍
Jim
6:28 you missed the ramp :(
I don't think he had enough speed
he had easily enough speed for the ramp but maybe hes a kind of person that dont like ramps.
No way he had enough speed to hit it, he cased the three tables leading up to it.
No, he didn't have enough speed for that big of a jump. He cased the three tables before it, and that slowed him down a LOT.
That was awesome. How are ppl able to see the path and know where to turn when moving that fast
Your videos are awesome. What would be your most recommended Santa Monica trail for journeyman rider?
I would have smashed into every tree by now😂
This looks like fun
Very clean run!
that wood part is terrifying
Nice. I love it. Good Recording, good ride, good track. would like to test it.
good thing he sees the track and does a good job staying on it - with my poor eyesight all I see is dust, dirt and more dust lol
Fun video. Great job!
i always wondered, do u haveto pay something to goto those bike parks? u pay for each descent? how does that work i dont know cuz there is no bike parks near me

hm makes sence, do u know what is the range of the price? something like 5 dollars per lift? 10/15/20...

thats nothing for the fun u can have imho...
I know my opinion is probably biased since I don't mountain bike. but that doesn't seem to hard. just maybe on the narrow wood parts
What bike are you riding? This is somehow a very satisfying video
Santa Cruz Bronson
+Ben Goyette Santa Cruz Nomad better?
Yes, the Nomad is a more capable downhill machine while still in the 'enduro' range. I've never ridden one but it would be a sick bike for Mammoth for sure.
+Ben Goyette I rented one in Whistler about a month ago and I absolutly fell in love with the bike. I rented many other bikes and the Santa Cruz Nomad felt the best. Im going to get one the second I have enough money too (:
Kenny Hobson YEEE BOI WHISTLER u from around ther??
still trying to figure out what makes it a double black diamond... looks fun tho
cool vid.....nice smooth riding
The real 4K video ever
looks like a real thrill! do the wood bridges and ramp sections get all slick and nasty over time though? most of the ones I've seen are good to a point but need some sand paper material to keep them grippy
+vincent gaines I know what you mean, I come from the muddy North. But surprisingly in California we don't see much sandpaper or poultry netting on wooden bridges and they stay dry and grippy.
looks sandy, all the berms had to be armored to keep them together. Maybe not the best location for this style of trail
smooth ride
me gusta esa ruta, ¿donde queda?
Is this place a ski slope in the Winter?
Yes
mercedbread yep
mercedbread
thanks people. happy trails
Amazing riding !
THAT was AMAZING!

They have plenty of beginner and intermediate runs, Mammoth is a great place for progression. And yeah, it also gets much gnarlier than this on the pro lines
How did you get the footage to look this good??!!!
What the crap, Those wood features at the beginning were not there when I went a few weeks ago.
What! No garish spasmodic headbanger music? Thank you.
Nice BIG round
Awesome video
yeah man, nice place, nice run

The Recoil didn't look as "Pro level needed" as the sign said. I think an intermediate could ride that trail, but I'm a beginner, so what do I know?
I live near Mont Sainte-Anne and went for a couple rides but man I wish we had more trails. I want to go there someday. I rented bikes 3 times (caus I cant afford a DH bike right now) and passed some guys with season passes on the world cup track :) I'm pretty sure I could ride this one! Nice video man!
You could for sure. If you ride trails like the WC and la Vietnam at MSA then this one would be a piece of cake.
MisterZhivago WheelieMaster but mt saint anne is like one of the best parks in the world! Also, you quebecois got vaillee bras du nord. Heard its pretty rad. Over here in new england, we got highland and kingdom trails... Still better than most of the east coast though ;)
The first section on recoil looks like a terrain park
I'm surprised they classify that trail as a double black. Its fast and somewhat technical but not a lot of nasty rock gardens, drop off's etc.... Nice video though!!
Damn i wish they had this where i live
helmet is so sick for gorpo with that gap in the visor
Nice run dude! How high are some of the drops off the wooden structures near the start?
Van LaPointe max is probably 4-5 feet
is this a double black cause this looks like a blue in what i do but still looks like a really cool ride
Great video dude!
There were so many turns and trails, it'd be so confusing to navigate!
great video, what helmet do you use, I really like it!
+Cameron Clark Giro Cipher
how where you able to get the battery to last 7 minutes?
SICK CLIP!
thanks for the audio...
Sweet video man!
Wow, I wanna ride here!
u are weird
Isn't this supposed to be a double black? It seemed like a green diamond
apart from the twilight bit thats a bit tricky
Only thing this video needs is some sick ass tunes mate
