Hey Ron, long time customer that's still referencing this video years later haha. I think you missed mentioning the cold start injector connector and on 89+ harnesses the progressive power steering connector. Thanks for the 7M love!
Hi, Ron! I have troubble with the harness of my project car. The previous owner have done a lot of wiring himself, and thing is not working proppably. What I could really use some help to figure out is the right way to wire the CEL and diagnostic connector. My CEL seems to get power all the time. So I can't get code out...Thank you very much for this awesome video !
Dude you the man I need to talk too my car won't start someone said it is the idle air control valve, it turns over but won't run change the fuel pump and filter about to change the injectors any thoughts
If that AC 3pin connector for the AC coolant thermisters are deleted, do you know if the AC controller ('89) will have any issues regulating the AC properly?
Hi Ron I cant identify the wires for starter from harness and or the 2 ground I just got this car and i reedoo head gasket on my own but it head a puch swich on and i dont remember how it was connected Can u help ..is a 7mgte non tubo Ps im not a mecanic !
Hey there, i know this video is about the 7m wiring but i was hoping you might be able to give me some help with a little issue im having. Im new to the 7mgte so i dont know much, basically there is a ticking sound that seems to tick faster the higher i rev. The sound seems to be coming from the cylinder head. I just wanted to know if you can help out with this & maybe let me know about some common problems this motor has( besides the bhg as i already learnt that the hard way.) btw this was a very informative video & look forward to seeing more.
iiAzT3Cii it could be injector clicking or valve shims out of spec, there is an old school of way of finding noises, take a piece of wood you can put your ear against and place the other end on the engine in various places when its running. You will hear the vibrations coming through the wood and you can narrow down what is clicking
Ron damn! That was fast lol. Thanks for the fast reply & the pointers I really do appreciate it. Ill give this old school way a go on my next off day from work. Once again thank you Ron, have a goodnight.
Hi I just did a hg job on my 88 turbo and I’m having a lean condition at idle (17-18) afr but not while driving. Any idea where i should start troubleshooting?
Check for exhaust leaks, any pre wbo2 leak will cause the afrs to read lean due to fresh air intake from an exhaust leak. Can also use an IR laser temp gun to check each exhaust port to determine if you have a lean running cylinder, that will point you to which cylinder is suspect. From there you can check or fuel injector functionality or spark plug gap and spark quality of that plug. Factory spec of 7mgte head bolts was 54ftlbs, it’s recommended after a head gasket job to torque head bolts to 72-75ftlbs to prevent head gasket failure common to 7mgte’s.
I got a 87 turbo targa with a rebuilt cps but im not getting any signals from the cps wiring in the harness. (no tach movement nor coilpacks firing). So I plan to buy a new cps rewire kit, but dont know where G1, G2, NE, G- run into on the harness to the ECU and where the Shielded ground bolts onto. Because I looks like the ECU in this vid is behind the glovebox. But mine is run down to the passenger kick panel.
It's nice to find someone who know these toyota Ron need to you having problems with my build car
I ordered from your site multiple times. You have great prices, parts and service. Thanks for supporting the mk3 Supra.
used this video to completely rebuild my harness, and the website with all the connectors is fantastic!

Can you use a 7mge wiring harnesson on a 7mgte engine?
Short answer is no. The GTE vs GE uses a few diferent sensors, different ignition systems being the biggest difference
Do you have contact info ? I can’t access your website want to build a 7mgte harness
i need a camshaft distributor 3.0 7mgte
On God
