Hey Mr. 101, this is my entry comment , I’m 17 and think that this knife would make a great addition to my supplies. I love your videos and you gave me a lot of advice on how to prep, I’m learning a lot at age 17. I’ve been watching you for 2 years now, keep up the work that you do, you make a difference in peoples lives.
Thanks for the opportunity to win that super awesome Ron Hood designed Tops brand Anaconda survival knife! Glad you got hooked up with this company, Chris. I also own and love several OKC knives so I look forward to those review videos. Thanks again Chris for this opportunity.Tennessee
I like the look of the knife and the length of the blade with the notches to remove pots and stuff from the fire keeps the hands farther away from the fire and thanks for the chance to win and again awesome video!
Good to hear ron getting a mention. I was gutted when he died. This knife is testament to his unique way of thinking and understanding of survival and woodlore. Great ergonomic and functional looking tool. Please count me in for the give a way.
Anything TOPS is a grail knife for me and as a single father their out of the budget most of the time. I want go out and buy the budget closest comparison so I'll wait and buy a used TOPS instead. This is not pity talk just reality in my case.
Outdoor Life RC most of us can't afford tops knives. America has 140 million people living in poverty and 40 million living in extreme poverty and most of us work. So you ain't the only one
@@jeremiahshine My situation doesn't compare to that since my kids mom just left but stills sees them. I wouldn't want to tell my kids something happened to their mom.
Outdoor Life RC They keep asking me to find a new "mommy". They even loudly comment at the grocery in the aisles: "Daddy look! How about SHE be our new mommy?". Sometimes I answer "Now THAT would be nice!". It hasn't worked yet. Lol.
@@jeremiahshine It's crazy you say that cause my kids say and do the same thing at the park. They don't say it loudly but they talk amongst each other and then they say Daddy go talk to her or Daddy what about her.
dharmamoose so the anaconda is basicly a hood design? For you usa guys its knowledge. We german guys dont know that infos. Greetings from cologne, germany Arthur
Ummm. Yeah. That's what I said in the video. This was out YEARS before the Buck Hoodlum. Both based on the same design. His logo is right there on the blade.
PREPAREDMIND101 same maker... same design. However: rin is missed bald in the survival World. Thank you for remembering ron Greetings from cologne, germany arthur .
I like the notch saw at the front of the knife. Not only could it be used for notching but also for removing cooking pots from fires. Looks like an awesome knife count me in for the giveaway. Thanks Chris
I am commenting to enter the GAW because Jessica told me to... She's a nice lady! Thanks for introducing me to her! I remember this knife from when I was a kid and I always wanted one and never ended up getting it. Awesome design by an awesome person.
Definitely commenting to enter the GAW, Chris. I really like the handle angle of that knife and would love to try chopping with it. Also, I love your new "Knife Connection". I'm really looking forward to you reviewing more knives of the brands you mentioned in this video....thanks!
Hope I'm not too late to enter for that knife. Thank you Chris for making it possible and for not dinging up the knife too much. This is one of those things that the owner wants to give it their own patina.
I am getting this knife. I saw Ron Hood at the Blade show video and he referred to a knife that he designed at Tops and mentioned it was still being produced but he was marketing the Hoodlum. SO I went out and bought two Hoodlums but can not see this Tops version is much better as far as construction. Great video. Great also that you hooked up with another sponsor on behalf of your viewers even though I know that would have been an issue with your other sponsors. Glad they cooperated. Keep up the great work.'
Count me in on this Awesome GAW! It would be an Honor to win a Hoods Woods design...and your right.! A picture doesn't do this blade justice...but now that I see you handle this monster...it is definitely appealing! A large tooth pick that works and has a history! Thanks for giving us all an opportunity ...very cool Chris!
I have held this knife at the Tops booth at shot 4 years in a row and have never pulled the trigger on buying one. I want to test one out thought. Like the design. Thanks for the opportunity to win this.
Thanks Chris for your continued generosity! Think this is a wonderful knife and I will grow to be very attached to it also. Please be careful with it and don't get blood on my Anaconda!!! As an 'old timer' myself, I love the old school style of the sheath! A girl got to have a place for her ferro rod and her lip stick! If your separation anxiety gets too bad, I will send pictures to you of me and my knife occasionally! Thanks for the great opportunity!
My comment: this is about as close as i will be able to get to a Jess-X. As i dont have my "big chopper" yet, this would be a great addition to my preps. Thank you for the look and i hope to be able to check it out for myself. Keep up the good work!
Definitely a great looking large blade with function. I agree about the 2D mislead. I've looked at pictures of this before and thought "blade looks too long" after seeing it's proportions in the vid I've changed my mind...
That knife is perfect for survival and as a camp knife. The length is just right, not to long nor too big. The notches is a great idea for removing hot pots on fire during camping for it renders your hand away from the fire. In all, I want to win,
I'm in! I'd definitely love owning that knife. Five seconds on a grinding wheel puts a nice, bare 90 degree patch on the back of the blade for ferro rods and bark scraping, although I know not everyone has access to a grinding wheel (get one). ;-) I love the classics, especially by Ron Hood...
Comment for entry: I am at the moment pursuing the medium length chopper concept and this would fit the bill nicely. It won't fell a tree in a hurry, but it might just be the ticket for limbing green wood, gathering saplings, quickly pointing sticks for tent stakes and the occasional batoning. So yeah, I'd like to try that. Also, I need to try the micro-saw that Ron Hood was so fond of for scoring bones.
The knife is an early demonstration of ergonomics and innovation that has been adjusted throughout many newer popular models by many different makers. I would love to have this in my lineup!
This looks like a pretty good knife. The differential heat treat makes a big difference in usefulness and as long as the spine isn’t below a 40 Rockwell it should work well on a fire steel.
I am a fan of large knives and own a Tops TFK and love it. The Anaconda looks like it would be even better at lots of tasks and to win one well now you can't go wrong, thanks Chris!
Formerly owned the Buck hoodlum, loved it, never had a breakage. Unfortunately, it got stolen on new years of 2015, used it for a bonfire and someone walked off with it. I would love to win this one! Count me in!
Oh dang almost forgot, I like the size of the blade I have many 3-5in blades and mostly carry a hatchet but been thinking of a larger knife/chopper. This one fits the bill and not so much $$. Thanks Chris
Thanks for the gaw. First really awesome looking Ron hood I saw was a buck punk at a local fish and game store. I looked into him and his designs more. And wow, what an impressive guy. This model does look to be better than the hoodlum though.
I love the giveaway!!!! The blade length, geometry, thickness are all great. I love the forward angle that lends it to be such a nice chopper. It needs to be in my collection!!!!!
Glad to hear you are affiliated with The Knife Connection folks. Their custom scales for ESEE’s are just awesome, and I used their knife builder tool to create a custom ESEE 6 with kydex sheath. I would love to win the Anaconda they sent you for this giveaway; it would pair up perfectly with my TOPS BOB. P.S. The TOPS whistle may not work great on birds, but it sure gets the attention of my kids!
Pretty cool knife! I like the thickness of the blade, and the full tang. Believe it or not, I don't mind the sheath!! Definitely want to be in on the GAW! Thanks for sharing! :-)
I love Tops knives. I only have 2 since price can be an issue. But when I can I get one . I love their out of the box designs. And appreciate that real survival and military people have been the influence for these blades. Winning this knife would be very cool . And I would actually use it !
I like the shape of the tip on this blade, I also like the straight edge that will make it easy for sharping, honing, using, and I'm commenting to win this knife! Thx Cris for all the videos
I love the arch of the handle in regard to the spine! The knife looks incredibly balanced and the grip looks exceptionally comfortable. An AWSOME CHOPPER, it no doubt would wreak havoc on a truckload of sawmill slabs, too!
Now that definitely looks like a survival knife. The idea of the hook on the spine is really cool too. The blade shape reminds me of the super low quality survival knives we had growing up in the late 80's. But this thing looks like it would destroy them. Would be so cool to add to my collection. Thanks for the giveaway!!!
I really like the big knife versatility. I really like Tops knives, the ones I have had the chance to use from them have really impressed me. I would really like to be the new owner of this blade. thank you for the chance.
Chris, I would definitely love to win this blade! I like the old-school style, the size (I love big blades), and the double finger choil(sp) is an added bonus. It just make a knife so much more comfortable and adds a lot more control during use.
that is a sweet knife, its a must have. it reminds me a bit of the tops condor alert, they discontinued it before i could get one. this would be a nice replacement for that, great video like always.
Pretty cool looking knife. That would be an awesome addition to the collection. I need more big choppers like that. Especially one designed by a legend like Ron Hood.
I like the length that the knife gives you as well as a very simple design. Nothing crazy just a workable edge. Hope I'm the lucky dude who gets to own it
My father had one of those years ago and he lost it during a move. Now that he’s much older and on a fixed income I would love to be able to give it to him as a gift.
Giveaway entry: I like the size of it. It's a great candidate for a larger knife to be paired with a smaller companion knife. And it would be a huge upgrade to the cold steel 25 dollar kukri I have.
Since I was bitten by the knife bug. I’ve always wanted a Buck Hoodlum. Since they’re discontinued and I see Tops makes the big twin brother, I would love to get my grubby hands on that sharpened implement of 1095.
Very "useful" knife! Lots of well thought out features - lots of built-in features. I like the sheath - very functional for a survival knife. Not meant to awe your neighbors, but function in an adverse environment.
The Tops Anaconda looks like a great forward weighted bush knife -- who needs an axe? With this beautiful knife hopefully not me. Looking capable of handling any task thrown its way. Ron Hood was a genius ahead of his time; and those notches in the spine for pot handles inspired urges in me to go camping and bush cooking immediately! Great channel, great content and an especially awesome knife... keep up the good work! - Greg from AZ
I have one of the older Tanto versions of the Anaconda and love it. It needs some company so I'd love to win this one to go along with the one I already have. Thanks!
TOPS knives have surprised me with their balance and feel for years. Doesn't surprise me Anaconda feels great and balanced. I've always wondered about the Anaconda, too, but didn't pull trigger. Glad you did the review.
I had some VHS tapes too. He was my first into to wilderness survival. So funny you posted this I just bought the complete collection on DVD about 2 weeks ago, half off. Hoping to view them with my rugrats. This is a bit bigger than j usually go to for a woods knife but I might have to pick one up, assuming I dont win. Will be cool to have one when I watch the vids with my kids
The fact they ashed you to do this giveaway is quite a feather in your cap, IMO, as they obviously recognize the reach your channel has. Very glad to hear you'll be doing more mid- price ranged knives, particularly Ontario, as I am a fan of theirs, and of that sort of price, too. I see several advantages to having a knife with its grip angled as the Tops Anaconda has. More delivered force in a chopping motion being at the top of the list. I would really like to add one to my gear, so, please, add my name to those seeking to win the giveaway drawing, thanks.
There's nothing better than returning to the hood once in a while to keep everything real. I remember watching some of Ron Hood videos back in the 80's. I'm in to win and represent Hood in the woods.
Classics never die often times we move on the newer but knives like this still perform as designed would be happy to add it to my tops collection and use it as well
Commenting to enter giveaway. It's always good to take a look at some of the older standbys. They can get lost in all the flash and glamor of the "latest and greatest", but classic design and craftsmanship never go out of style.
