Brought back Memories Playing this at my Elementary School, Hoover St. School in Los Angeles. In Later years at Hollywood High School Played the Sport but Much Smaller Ball and much more Faster. in 60s and 70s.
In my school they have all this extra stuff to the game like rainbows where you duck under the ball, and magics where you just wave your hand over the ball, and more
for me, we have trickys double bounce overhead newschool oldschool linepegs antipegs savees line savees softees hardys bullet pop elimination twos, threes, fours, royales and king's battle double bounce double hit first serve second serve and so on blackouts sliciees low cuts (basically slicies but a bit higher) line self inner if u have any questions about any of these then just reply and ill explain it.
We had watermelons, waterfalls, rainbows, black Magic’s, white magics, bear claws, babies, mega-babies, and Water bottles, which I think was unique to my school. Water-Bottles could only be preformed by a server, the server would bounce it directly downward and go under it, the people next in line would also go under. Getting hit by the ball while trying to go under it would make you get out. If the ball goes over the boundary, the person last to go under would have to hit it to the person next in line, the person next in line would have to be in the court and bounce the ball once and hit the wall. If this person fails, they’ll be out, not the person that was last in the water-bottle.
Ok…what’s the game with a hand-sized bouncy ball where you hit the wall FIRST with the ball and then it is allowed to bounce once before smacking it with your hand?
First of all this is not handball .. we used to call this slugs... And we used a much smaller ball in handball you have to hit the ball and it cannot touch the ground until it bounces off the wall... And I should know because I played on a pro level competing in the Bronx and Brooklyn... Just saying...😊
You've never felt the thrill, the rush of hitting the perfect slice, getting your opponent to one side of the wall and hitting a perfect power shot that you know is completely impossible for your opponent to return. And then being told by a teacher that you're being "too hard," and that you "gotta play nice" when someone can't keep up with you. Now that's a thrill.
No you are talking about hand soccer. This is elementary school handball. Don't be confusing that euro trash so called handball with real American handball. Get that shit out of here.
Bro everybody in 5th grade took this so seriously, you’d have people power hitting, and pros doing slicies. Then people just babying.
i’m in 5th rn and you are very correct. This kid named miles can do a 360 and hardy and hit it backwards doing a slicy if he wanted to.
@@flack2998 holy- how do u even do that?
My favorite shot was to hit it with my wrist, very low. Ahhh elementary school memories
@@flack2998 I'm boutta be a senior and still play this 💀 I use the small blue ball from the original American handball tho
Is this like a Californian thing because I heard it was, I used to play this in elementary school in south cali.
I miss playing this as a kid
This should've been an Olympic sport.

What about the polies, the poppies, rainbow, black magic, baby serves! I don’t play with out of courts at my school.
Dang I remember this I used to be really good I was even able to hit a super sonic every once Ian a while
Finally. Soft ball but the wall is tooo short
Don't be so picky. When I was a kid we called it handball at Broad Ave. Elementary School.
This is my son’s school haha
I'm pretty sure this is Dulles Elementary school in the neighborhood where i grew up
You cant forget those lopsided balls that made the game harder...All because kids would kick them and make them egg shaped.
Ok…what’s the game with a hand-sized bouncy ball where you hit the wall FIRST with the ball and then it is allowed to bounce once before smacking it with your hand?
Forgot about scratchies no scratchies lol
There is another boundary rule: The ball goes over the handball wall
Ya a overhead is what everyone at my school called it
We called it overboards.
This is so tiny compared to mine
ooh, at our school, we had three people. I think it was cuz there were to many people lining up
I played this so much during reeses. I even played against the whole school because I kept beating them. I lost after the 8th person to challenge me
As a 5th grader, i can see how we can’t stop playing this
In my school we have gummy rats rainbow tosses magics and more
Man I was the champion at this game in elementary school
sliders, black magic, mega ,baby were the things i did
My court rules: outhouses treetops 3 bounces underdogs (under the ball)

I’m a 5th grader right and the whole school since it’s our last year we had a championship and whoever won got 100$ and I already spent the money
scrapie
Nowhere near as enjoyable as Aussie rules handball

I thought you play with four people? not two??

Goofy ah
What...
THIS ISNT HANDBALL, THIS IS WALLBALL, HANDBALL IS A DIFFERENT GAME

It's handball here in America. In the UK handball is different just like measurements and laws.
No you are talking about hand soccer. This is elementary school handball. Don't be confusing that euro trash so called handball with real American handball. Get that shit out of here.
BRUH AT MY SCOOL THEY HIT THAT SHIT *HARD* and it went over and we were in 4th grade and hit over the 12ft wall
Same but it is easy now
Im in 5th grade but I look 9-8 I hit hard
Same
Over board is what we called that move
the fact that the players are purposely losing is funny
Thats not handball
That's not hand ball That's slugs.
Right now I'm in 4tj grade I play handball I play really good but the 5th graders are better than me
