    This video is to set the records straight and clear the confusion surrounding pH testing.
    Some self-acclaimed gurus are now claiming that the best way to check pH is by putting pH meter into the product directly without making 1% dilution.
    Well that is wrong.
    I took my time to explain the proper procedure for you in this video.

    Wow! There is another cosmetic school here on RUclips that teaches the exact opposite.

      Whoever is teaching the exact opposite lacks background education and work experience in Cosmetic Science. A lot of online school owners do not have Cosmetic Science education.
      I studied and mastered Cosmetic Science and also have over 10 years of experience working as a cosmetic chemist. I hope my little knowledge can help others out.

    sorry for bothering but can i have a scientific paper which says that we must dilute the cosmetic products in water (10%)? I know we must dilute it but i want to do this reference, its for my job.

    Thanks for making such a detailed video! I’ve been through three Ph meters, I’ll get the same Hanna one you have in your video.
    I went on your website to look for classes but I wasn’t sure where they were.
    Are you still taking students?

    Thank u so much. What about for the serums that is liquid but still has that slight viscosity. Direct or 1:9 ratio?

    Thank you ma’am for your teaching. This is exactly what I wanted to see!! Quick question: are we using distilled water or tap water to test your pH? I want to say distilled but I wanted to make sure.

    Which water to use while making cosmetics ? Distilled water or deionised water? Do we need to heat and cool the deionised water or distilled water before using in the cosmetics?

      any of them is ok. It depends on the type of product you are making.

    A couple of questions: is it best to use the .9/1.0 ratio of product to water or can you use any ratio to test ph? Does plastic containers affect ph reading (I think I saw somewhere that it does)? Do you need to use distilled water for measuring or will tap water be ok?

    • @greenbeautychemist.
      @greenbeautychemist.  2 года назад +2

      Yes 1% to 9% is the best percentage. I don't know about that but it is recommended to use glass beakers when working in the lab.
      Yes use distilled water or deionized water only when making products and when testing the pH

    Thank you for this video ma'am..... What if it's liquid product like a facial toner.. Can i dip the pH meter direct

    • @greenbeautychemist.
      @greenbeautychemist.  3 года назад +2

      For toner or liquid products like liquid serums etc, just take a little bit and check it directly with your pH meter. Do not dip your pH meter into your entire liquid product to prevent contamination. Throw away that portion after checking the pH.
