Check Engine Light Code P1349 Fix for Lexus IS300. VVTi Solenoid.

  • Here is the part you will need to fix the check engine light: amzn.to/2FjztHj
    and this is the link for the little oil filter on the valve as well. I recommend replacing them both: amzn.to/2FsFjJQ. And here is the link to purchase the OBD2 adapter I used to read and clear the code: amzn.to/2GHHpV1
    In this video I show you guys how to fix error code P1349 on my 2001 Lexus IS300. This should be the same procedure for most Toyota vehicles, and all 2JZ engines. Remember to clean out the little metal screen under the union bolt before replacing the whole solenoid as sometimes if the filter is clogged it will also throw error code P1349. The check engine light was on and the trac off light was blinking when I had this problem. The car would have a hard time idling after warming up and would sometimes stall too. It drove fine above 2000 rpm, but under that, it would stumble and miss hard. It also threw some other codes for misfires in random cylinders because the timing was off since vvti was not working properly.

    Hey man, I just got done taking apart my engine and drove an hour away from home when this code popped up. Am I good to wait til I get home to deal with this? Or should I get it fixed ASAP before I drive back home for an hour. My engine was smoking once I finished driving and like you said, it has trouble at low rpm where I can barely accelerate.
    I just worked with my timing belt so you think it could have anything to do with that? I also was messing with that solenoid too and I’m just thinking what the hell are the chances of that thing breaking while I’m doing all this other stuff

    • @RacecarAndChill
      @RacecarAndChill  2 года назад

      Check the wiring going going to it. The clips on the connectors get brittle and snap. Also make sure there isn't any debris in the connector preventing it from seating all the way in. You should be able to get this part from any auto parts store. I would do everything you can before you drive it that far.

    I have a lexus is 200, this error happend to me as well but the thing is that It doesn't always stay here, it pops up sometimes.
    My car wasn't running well. When the car was stopped, the motor would be like unstable and 1500-1800 rpm. Hard to start etc. Felt like the vvti was always triggered. By the time the car reached the mechanic with the tow truck, the issue wasn't here anymore and the car looked fine. Can this still be a solenoid issue or might be another problem?
