I think the 1st time Murry Lightburn preformed in front of a big crowd was 1988 at our high School end of year show in our band called The Untouchables... I think we did a u2 and a Morrissey song ect.... I knew back then he was on a mission..... I'm real proud of you my friend!!! I'll catch you guys when you hit Montreal!!! stay safe and keep on rocking!. your friend J.P
Remember the warm up bands are sometimes just as good if not better than the main act, from the black velvet band tied up by the dock of the bay looking at the Drifters on the high plains and Boney M swinging on the banks of the Babylon alongside Rasputin while the men behind the wire are waiting for their time to move and Groove whilst ElO hold on tight and the PLO bring the house down with the Isralites. Now pray tell me again, who said the divil was dead? Who knows for he was all a figment of the imagination, and John Lennon was right and good dreamers are better than bad schemers now for Petes sake play it again Sam.
The sheer number of songs I like from this band is amazing. And I have been around the block several times with Beatles, Floyd, Smiths, Clash. Something very monumental, artistic and emotional about this band.
I commented on this same video 5 months ago? Damn... time flies. Again. This band is great. Great! Hehe, I wish they'd get over here to Hawaii. (fat chance for now...)
They have in fact gone to QC... first time I ever saw them was back in '00 they opened for Sloan at the Kashmir... It's still the top ranking show on my "have seen" list!!
This is one of my favorite songs. Its a redux I think of a tune from the past, I just can't figure out which one. I love this this song though. Songs these days don't use enough simple classic cord progressions which I think this song does.
Song is great, video is great and Gang of Losers is a brilliant album. Only question: If Murray is the "Black Morrisey" does that make Krief the 'white Johnny Marr'? ... Wait...hmm..
My favourite song off of Gang of Losers. I can't wait 'til they put the '08 tour dates on their site. Natalia Yanchak is so pretty too. Her hair's so cool!
@cavetemptor i don't understand why you wrote this to me but, since you had, I'll reply that I'd rather put my son at the awful risk of living in this strange days than have him exposed to untolerance, racism, facism, and pleasant ignorance. But, you can always ironically smile and think that being a south american with jewish blood what else could I hope for but tolerance.
JUST to mention..cuban blacks are considered black..so to say he is cuban or black is like the same question, unless u meant a non-black cuban...second he is candian.and have the same kind of voice as morissey..but in no way is copying or mimics morissey..
@javierahumada Thank goodness we don't live back in those terrible days when crime was minimal, welfare wasn't a matter of "right", your children could ride the bus downtown without being assaulted or molested, people had to work for their money, there was a low rate of unwed mothers, people had respect for authority and each other. Yes, isn't it wonderful we live in modern times where the old days are gone.
I see the rest of their songs as anti racist as it doesn't bother to recognize or raise the topic of "race" at all. song that raises the subject of race, whether racist or not, only serves to emphasize the fact that there are different races and raises the awareness of these differences. To not recognize or give attention to the race subject is ultimately to not be racist.
Still in my head in 2024

One of the swingiest, most satisfying tunes of modern times, it is hard to remain still whilst listening!
This is giving me goose pimples. Great sound, great performance.
I have to come back to this pretty frequently. Every time I think of the shame Morrissey brought upon Manchester for example.
I commented on this same video 5 months ago? Damn... time flies. Again. This band is great. Great! Hehe, I wish they'd get over here to Hawaii. (fat chance for now...)
Very much agree with you. The sound is fanatic and the way they mix in the instruments is just a wow factor.
Montreal just pumps out the incredible musicians, i am jealous
Great song i love it!

This sounds really good!!!
thats too bad they have never came to Quebec City yet, they are one of my favorites!
I found this band from a mini game on new grounds lol.
Rock n' Roll Babeeeee!~
My favourite song off of Gang of Losers. I can't wait 'til they put the '08 tour dates on their site.

Cool song
@Badger100260 They are on the same record label after all
I'm Mexican and I can also sing this song
wow, observation is your forte
I like it.
Who's that black lady they focus on in the beginning and the end? Is there a story linked to her?
This song's a miracle
I agree with all of the above :-) truly.
oh my fucking god yes, the first thing i thought of!!! fuck yra rock on!!!
Classic. Why don't we hear this more often??

does anyone have the tabs for this?
They sound a lot like The Smiths. Very cool.
patrick krief is the greatest guitarist in the world right now. I challenge anyone to refute this statement.
Now all we need is a cover of "The Queen is Dead", by them.
for me they are the canadien radiohead.they should be more popular
mozzers voice twin. cool.
Lightburn is Canadian not English :P

Montreal is a Canadian city...at least for now it is..
"The Black Morrissey" indeed!

Wtf
The Smiths re done. In a very positive way.
I thought Morrissey was a white woman. Did Morrissey become a black man?

10 racists hate this song...
The lead singer looks half black or cuban or something...
woooo separatists wooooooo good luck with that one eh! he he

That would be true if there were no racial inequality in the world. But there is, and ignoring it is stupid and harmful.
Good tune!
Too bad the lyrics and video promote the same old anti-white propaganda. It's really getting lame. Oh well....
