Where in Western Colorado were you? I'm in Paonia myself and considering buying one of these for hunting season. Also how warm would you say you were you able to get it inside through the night?
I was a few miles south of Gypsum, saw temperatures in the single digits most nights and we kept it easily in the 80s. A lot of that depends on what size wood stove you use and how much wood you want to burn. I used the tent again this November in VA and it worked like a charm! I’m still very happy with my purchase.
Add a tent fly ! I use a 16x 20 , I cut and glued a stove jack into fly , it has grommets all around so you can tie front , Back and sides down, keeps stable even in high winds
That’s a good idea. So the fly rested on top of the tent and there was an over hang all the way around? I’ll be using the tent for a week long trip at the beginning of May. There will be four adults so I plan to have the tent strictly for sleeping and the stove. And purchase a small pop up carport (you can view them on Amazon their basically this exact tent without the sides) to hangout in and cook under.
Mine was toast 3 days into a trip ,corners broke 3rd day in and now there's no replacement parts to be found. Wish the frame was better made than it is , right now the way it is ,is cheap thin pipe

For the money, I’ve been very satisfied with the tent!
Yes the overhang works well as you can also store gear under it

How about that! My instructions showed it the way I had it laid out. Very interesting, I’ll look into that. Thanks!
