I remember watching this video when the fund raising was on TV here in South Africa. I nearly fell off my chair seeing it now again after these few short years. Excellent John and Fred
incredible tribute...sounds great , i remember seein it live that day..too bad there are so many jealous haters here... industry wide this is considered a classic moment
It's so weird, the idea of John Rzeznik and Fred Durst doing a duet doesn't sound right on paper but after seeing this, I can't deny that they do harmonize well. Well done!
Pink Floyd were a great band, one of my favourite, but you have to realise, of the millions of people that liked them, a few had to have their own tribute, not trying to "top" them so get your head out your arse and realise that this is a great cover in tribute to the lives lost on 9/11 and a great tribute to a once almighty band!
lmao, I love when people hate Fred....it's such a passionate, fiery hate. I don't care about him either way, but they did an okay job with the song here.
wow...i guess u guys all have had more hits an done more ..what are the top ten hits u have put out ? just curious... an yes..it is considered huge.. can u prove otherwise...it was talked about for years...just cuz u dont like it..doesnt mean its bad....hate an jealousy...so what do u thnk is so great ?
i am not the judge..this is regarded as a huge moment..noy my judgement..its reality , im sorry if cant deal with it..what job do u have in the industry ?
WHY DOESENT ANYONE UNDERSTAND THAT THEY CHANGED THE LYRICS FOR THAT SPECIFIC CONCERT BCUZ IT SOUNDED MORE PATRIOTIC!?!?!? WHERE TF R UR BRAINS PPL???? Awesome cover!
@midinerd I'm not going to argue with anything, except your opinions on the hat. It's a benefit performance after 9/11. Of course he's going to where a NY hat. EVERYONE was wearing NY stuff to show how much they loved it.
@KaylDK It was the same way for decades for a reason. This is also a cover of it as well. With Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst. You've.. you gotta be kidding.
@Randyrhoads4lyfe u are right about how if not for randy, ozzys solo carer would never have been what it was, he did create ALOT of masterpeases, though, black sabbath, they were a great band, when ozzy was with them, ozzy is still, in my opinion, the greatest metal singer, he created metal, ozzy is what made sabbath who they were, they would not have been anything with out him, randy was the greatest guitarist there has ever, or ever will be, u seem like a cool dude though, i respect ur view
It's not all about the music, in fact, bands make much more on tours than CD's. So most would rather have someone who wanted to rock out and put on a show instead of standing in one spot and focusing too hard on their guitar. And on a side-note, I find it very hard to believe one of the best guitarists in the world would audition for Limp Bizkit.
I have to stand upon my blood sister. It's OK to have your own opinion and you may not like him or his productions. Gotta admit that they made couple of covers, but it doesn't mean they made them to pop their bank accounts. I think, they show great respect and appreciation to musicans, by spreading they words. Just in a different style which you may not like, other may have different opinion. Ohhh and btw... You sound like a resentful kid who didn't have a chance to get an autograph =)
yo ThomasD1980 limp are workin on new album i know this cos i bought their new DVD- 'ROCK IM PARK' an in the case is a booklet that has a bio of limp ect. anyway at the end there is a message that says THE UNQUESTIONABLE TRUTH PART 2(work in progress) limp rock on
Totally agreed. My ears are bleeding. It seems everyone that talks shit about this video gets a thumbs down. Fuck that, this song should get thumbs down. I understand this is a tribute to 9/11 and my heart goes out to all those souls. This song though, probably isn't the best choice. Just my view on that.....but yes, I love this song, but this cover makes my ears bleed.
I'm loving all the Fred hate here, especially when it was a tribute song for those who lost their lives on 9/11. Yeah, Fred doing something for the families of those who lost loved ones totally makes him a prick. -_-
I'm not being funny but people who try to suggest that Durst can not sing are hearing something completely different to what I (and hopefully others) hear. Too many fuckers accustomed to watching X-Factor/American Idol/Other Shit Talent Show.
@Randyrhoads4lyfe if not for ozzy, randy would not even be known, ozzy discovered him, and ozzy is also a god of music, my opinion though, randy was very good, he was the best guitarist there ever was or ever will be, but, really, to tell the truth, music is about more then just shreding, it is about the lyrics also, if i like the way they blend lyrics with the rest of the music, and i like the lyrics, its a good song, if it is just one or 2 songs, then they cannot be a good band, honestly
@Randyrhoads4lyfe ok, first, who said limp was death metal, they are punk, and death metal??? really??? just so u know, Randy Rhoads was not death metal guitar, he played hard rock/heavy metal, so what do u like, death metal, or hard rock/heavy metal??? not trying to start a fight or anything, just saying
I remember watching this video when the fund raising was on TV here in South Africa. I nearly fell off my chair seeing it now again after these few short years. Excellent John and Fred
I think it's great. The dual vocal adds some power. After hearing a song the same way for decades, this is a refreshing take.
incredible tribute...sounds great , i remember seein it live that day..too bad there are so many jealous haters here... industry wide this is considered a classic moment
It's so weird, the idea of John Rzeznik and Fred Durst doing a duet doesn't sound right on paper but after seeing this, I can't deny that they do harmonize well. Well done!
This was by far the best song they did that night!

Wish you were here...don't think so. Wish they hadn't sang it this way.
actually if you listen very carefully. fred durst isn't really singing. Its just the echoe of john's voice.
@jarosikzero Thank you and everyone else who gave my comment a thumbs up.
he does it all for the nookie guys.... the nookie...
massive attack teardrop was supposed to among one of the songs used for 911 but it was removed as it was too sad due to what happened
Buenisimo
i am not the judge..this is regarded as a huge moment..noy my judgement..its reality , im sorry if cant deal with it..what job do u have in the industry ?
I think he is realy good:P
Hell yeah Fred durst is awesome and the man I made a short vid of me saying fred durs is da man its on my profile
I realised, the girls (LeeAnn Rhimes and Avril) couldn't sing with Johnny, but Fred did it well!! Isn't it strange?
WHY DOESENT ANYONE UNDERSTAND THAT THEY CHANGED THE LYRICS FOR THAT SPECIFIC CONCERT BCUZ IT SOUNDED MORE PATRIOTIC!?!?!?
WHERE TF R UR BRAINS PPL????
Awesome cover!

alpha blondi is an awesome song writer (H)

The event that spawned the term "audio terrorism." Little did we know, but September 11th was only the beginning.
@Serjery15 Just because it was for a good cause doesn't give him the right to suck!
this was after september 11th...
Great cover...fuck haters just appreciate music...
fred=dust

NOBODY adds/subtracts/alters Floyd lyrics in any way. Period.

What do you think Syd Barrett would say to you now?

i thought limp bizkit is on ice?
yo ThomasD1980 limp are workin on new album

I never liked boring bands like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. The only reason to hear this song is Fred.Talentless?Stop living in 70-s and 80-s.
I'm not being funny but people who try to suggest that Durst can not sing are hearing something completely different to what I (and hopefully others) hear. Too many fuckers accustomed to watching X-Factor/American Idol/Other Shit Talent Show.
Diamond Dust he can't sing. His voice is just effects. He sucks
@0912Jacko What about you !!!?

Noooooooooooooo Limp Bizkit Yeahhhhhhh !!!!
Considering it's a tribute I don't think it was intended to be better then the original.
look i know its a tribute for the ppl who died but this is after completly ruining wish u were here for me.
