Im so happy when i get to watch a realistic paycheck budget that i can relate to. Some budget videos pull out 10 plus binders and do 10 plus savings challenges. Those feel more like playing with money videos than budgeting.
I fully understand Sandy. I was feeling like that when I first started budgeting. I was like I going to record my little shovel because I’m not seeing anyone that don’t have a lot to work with
I’m a single mom who used to live in/manage income based housing. Hearing the words paying market rate in income based housing just took me down. It’s like you’re stuck with having just enough but never enough. I hope your family is blessed.
watching this making 16$ as a 19 year old thinking how i’ll ever get out my moms house. Your video gives me a lot of hope and encouragement for the future despite the amount i make. I plan on saving 5k in 4 months🎉🎉
It's possible. After I got done traveling at the age of 22, I went down and lived with my grandparents in Texas, and I saved over 3k in 3 months working at 7-11 for $9 an hour, just 40 hours a week, rarely any overtime. Use that time at your parents wisely, and don't forget to have fun too. I rode my bike everywhere and I still got to play music at an open mic at a bar every Tuesday. And they lived in a suburb of Austin so about once a month I would ride my bike the 25 miles to 6th Street and got to let loose. After everything was said and done, I was able to move back to Idaho (halfway across the country) with my friend and get into an apartment! You can do this
ALSO, after said friend bought a house up there in Idaho (before COVID) I moved back to Texas a few years after COVID and bought a house here in a college town with just 2500 down! If there's any houses in your area that are 200k or less and you think you can handle the responsibility, if you get 10-20k saved in a year you have everything you need for a down payment and closing costs on a 200k home. If you start talking to Mortgage lenders they'll tell you exactly what you need to do. I wish I had done it sooner but I'm glad I was finally able to buy an affordable home at 29

My son makes about what you make - and is a single dad - he bought a house 6 years ago for a very good price- his mortgage is low so that helps- nothing fancy but it works
@@angelarothbauer8096 Hi Angela. That is great for your son. He did the right thing. I wish I would have bought a house years ago. I’m price out of my area for my income now. I just wish I would have bought a home years ago when I had the money and less debt.
Thank you for posting such realistic videos! I love your content. Your budget is very similar to mine. I’m a single mom making $14 an hour with no extra help. All the other videos I see are cash stuffing these challenges that cost money to get and I don’t even have enough to pay my actual bills. You’re doing great things! ❤️
Thank you Larissa. I wish more people would share their budgets. In times like these we must get the most out our money and be mindful of our kids and our future. Keep on pushing mama you got this
Update: I got the job!! 👍 If I get the job I’m interviewing for, this is close to how much I will make. I’m so glad to find some information on this!!!!! Maybe make a video on the groceries specifically. Would love to see how you use what’s in your stock pile and what you buy to go with that, meal plans etc
I appreciate this so much. Sometimes I see people with a $4k budget. Or $6k a month budget. This is much more realistic for us folks in the same pay range / salary
love this simplistic style of budgeting. nothing fancy and cheap. i always laugh when i see people buy $50 budgeting diarys when they could of saved $50. keep it up
@@Ryanthefrugal thank you! I get what your saying. I could use that money towards something in my budget. I also understand people like what they like and it’s the pretty things that catch their eye. I guess it’s no better than me spending my money on things I like though. For me I just don’t want to spend a lot of money on budgeting things. I love me some paper and pen. It suits me well. Thank you so much
I have spectrum internet as well (WA State) not sure if you have done this yet. I called spectrum internet and try to negotiate a lower rate for internet. I did and went from $72 to $52 for a year. Whatever I can do to reduce my month expenses helps. Single mom, no child support, foods stamps or any help. I do it all alone, but God is faithful!
That comp time scheme of there’s doesn’t sound legal. I am pretty sure any hours over 40 in a week must be paid out at time and a half in that check. Sounds like they are cheating their employees out of over time pay and breaking the law unless I’m missing something.
Another thing w internet and phone bill is to negotiate it yearly. I always get on chat with an associate each year for both my bills and ask for any loyalty discounts. “Try to leave” their service for a retention price etc. this really really helped. Before some states used to have ACP program which covered a base wifi plan $30, sucks that they ended it but check also if they have any program similar in your state.
Im in a much better position than I used to and I can still feel the intense stress through the screen from you. You are an amazing mother. Things will get better. ❤
This is the problem when it comes to benefits and subsidies. You are a young, smart, hard working lady trying to better yourself. You make a little extra money whether it's getting promoted or getting a new job and then the government says you make too much and then all of the assistance and subsidies goes away. That's just wrong. There's no incentive for people in general to better themselves. What should be done is to assist you MORE. That would help get you in a direction where, in the future, you won't have to rely on government assistance programs. I wish you the best of luck!! ❤Keep up the great work and you'll get there!! 😊
It seems the government wants to keep ppl poor. It truly isn’t adding up yet when you’re wealthy you are very wealthy with little to no taxes needed to pay in. It’s all just sick and so sad. No single mother should be making such low wages. I pray and pray I change my ways and pray some more . I’m beginning to think this is hell. I’m losing any kind of hope I had left and can’t seem to make goals anymore since it always fails can’t afford hobbies/friends/life/time away/anything that brings joy and fulfillment I’m truly at my breaking point. How does the government get away with this?
Thank you for sharing this !!! ❤ GOD BLESS YOU!! Single mom with zero child support since day 1 here !! This is so much more realistic. So simple. Thank you for sharing!!
This is the first video I've seen of yours. We are a low income family of 4 (almost 5). My husband works full time and I work a few hours a week. This was inspiring and very relatable. I pulled out my paper to budget with you. 😊
@@oliviarucker5013 thank you Olivia. I hope it helps you get your budget in order. I know everyone’s needs are different but sitting down and planning and mapping where your money goes will help you to understand if you need more income or need to cut spending so much on wants. By the way great name. My daughter middle name is Olivia and her cousin has the same middle name as well.
I’ve recently started budgeting. I’m 21, almost finished a bachelors, but still living with parents and have no car. It’s tough coming from a low income household. I just got a job at my local vape shop, praying I also get a job at a library nearby. Been planning like crazy to see if I can make it on my own, since I have no significant other to help nor do I want one anyways. And home is not a safe space unfortunately. It’s gonna be tough when I start my masters cause I still have to work at the same time. But I’m determined. You inspire me. If you can do this as a single mom, surely I can. Prayers to you both ❤
You’re an awesome mother. I’ve been on the same budget raising two boys with no child support or government assistance. 🧡🍂🙏🏽 keep strong and you are setting up for a great future 🧡🍂🙏🏽
You are smart, hard working, and exercise great self-control. Also you daughter is so blessed to have such a great mom. I brought tears to my eyes to think that a vacation and death in the family could end up setting you back. Even though you have had another set back with the trip to urgent care, you have a great attitude and show trust in God.
I just found your channel and you seem like such a sweetheart!!! You inspire me, single moms are heroes!!! ❤❤❤ I am working through debt myself and on low income, but you are amazing to me, I do not have a child myself (though I would love children someday), but I can understand money struggles at least somewhat. I look forward to seeing more videos from you, I can tell you are a kind soul and God bless you! Also, it’s kind of refreshing to see someone do a cash stuffing/ budgeting video without blinged out nails- it just always felt odd to me when someone did that!!! Nothing wrong at all with manicures, I just thought it was funny if someone was doing a budgeting video with fancy nails 😂 Your nails look lovely all natural! Mine break all the time, so I just paint mine myself LOL but when I’m debt free I’m hoping to have room in my budget again to get them done in the salon. Blessings to you! ❤
Thank you so much for your sweet words! I appreciate you!. I use to get my nails done but they aren’t in the budget anymore. When I think about how much I use to spend it makes me cringe. I love nails but I’m going the press on way now whenever I get the time to do them.
This is so encouraging, I work for a community college and drug store and bring in about this much with a child. Watching you definitely will give me some ideas.
Thank you Alycia. I hope this helps. Do you mind me asking. Do you live alone as well? I’m trying to see if other people with lower incomes live alone with kids as well. I’ve had someone tell me it can’t be done.
I love how transparent you are with your income and finances. Your content is extremely relatable and shines a light on the importance/possibility of budgeting regardless of income.
I hate that you are paying market level rent in subsidized housing!!! They need to evaluate those percentages because at $16/hour single income is so crazy that you don’t qualify. I was a low income single mother for many years, you are doing it right. My saving grace was being able to buy a home at 22. It provided stability and affordability for 15 years until I married my husband. You are really doing a great informed job and I hope this channel continues to thrive!
Thank you Amelia. Thank you for your testimony as well. I’m planning to move soon. I’m working on paying off debt and hope to buy a house for my daughter and I. I want to be able to leave something for her when I pass. Thank you so much for your blessings
@@07ikkin this was in 2008 right before the subprime housing bust. I live in a lower cost of living area- in the Midwest, I had a full time job, had recently graduated college and had a good (but not great) credit score at that time, and bought a house that was 60K. I only had to put 5% down, and my realtor advised to have the seller pay closing costs to keep what I had to put down to less than $3K. I had a very manageable mortgage payment on that loan, and refinanced several years later to a lower interest rate. My mortgage payment including taxes and escrow was around $575 average.
@@amorous_critic oh WOW. Do you have it paid off now? And thank you for sharing. I stress so much about the cost of housing. I am doing okay but unless something changes, I'll be paycheck to paycheck in a few years
you're doing an incredible job. seriously. 90% of ppl in your position struggle so much worse because they don't have a realistic budgeting process. and it's so nice that you provide this knowledge and process to the wider internet.
Thank you miss custodian. I appreciate what you do. I worked in schools for at least 35 years. I am retired. I was not a teacher, but started as a cafeteria lady, moved on to work in the district in various capacities. I have a great retirement because I worked in a school district. I started as a single mother in the district when i was a young single mother. So stay where you’re at, and keep doing what you do. It isn’t easy i know that for sure. But when your a OG like me.70 years, you will be glad you did. If you can when you can. Pay at least one of those monthly utility bill for 1 year. I know it’s hard, but………you will be surprised how that annual payment helps you save , because it helps you purchase things like. A nice little outing with you and your kids, frees up money for Christmas. Or, put that money in an emergency account. Oh and working for a school district. Get yourself a small side hustle. If you can sew, let be known . Advertise, that you do Hems ( as it in skirts and pants) . You will be surprised once that word gets out……you will make some money. I did that for years. And worked, and raised boys. If you can’t sew…..RUclips is your best friend and will help you. If you need a sewing machine. Buy from estatesales and garage sales to find one. Cheap and cheerful 🎉
Thank you! You’re right, it isn’t easy. I’m glad you were able to have a great retirement after your hard work in the school district. Thank you for the suggestions and tips.
I really appreciate your vulnerability and honesty in sharing your finances. I grew up very sheltered as my parents didn’t often talk about finances because they didn’t want me & my sister to ever worry, and I’m so grateful to have such good parents but now I’m almost 22 without much knowledge about finances or how to budget! You’re such a big help and I wish you the best
Thank you! I grew up in a household where we didn’t have a lot. My dad was a better money manager before he let his schizophrenia take over. My mom made sure all her bills were paid but she was a spender. Never saved a dime and still don’t to this day. She’s 70 and still working two jobs. She just started a 401k two years ago. She receives social security already but still isn’t looking out for her future.
Budget is always the key. Found out what comes in and what goes out. But another key is try to lower some of that stuff you have to pay every month or bi-monthly bills. Look how to lower things or alternatives or can live without. Try to hustle on the side to make some extra money but the same time cutting costs when it's possible to do.
New to your channel , thank you for sharing a * realistic * budget video -$950 still seems high for low income housing . Times are so tough . I feel like I'm always robbing Peter to pay Paul so to speak
Thank you! Yes! My income is higher therefore my rent has increased. I started out paying 46 dollars now I’m up to 950. I barley had any income when I paid $46
I’m so glad I found your channel!! I love the cash stuffing videos, but I get so discouraged because most of them stuff $1,000 at a time. I also get $16 an hour and get paid twice a month. Also a single mom. I’ve been trying to cash stuff for a few years with no success.
You got this! It took me a few tries to get a system that works. Keep at it. Are you making it off $16 an hour? Is it hard where you live? I wish more people with our income would come and budget because it gives me idea if others are making it on a low income
I just found your channel, and want to thank you for your honesty and showing us what a real budget for low income family. I also want to make a suggestion on your food budget, many churches and food banks give out foods for people in needs . I do this at my own church once a month God Blessed you and continue to work on your budget.
Thank you TNDee. It’s be bad couple of days but I’m getting through it. I couldn’t shake the sickness so I had to go get into more debt and go to the er and urgent care.
When I say I clicked and subscribed so fast when I saw Duke Energy on your list!!! Im new to SC and the difference in income is nuts and I've been feeling overwhelmed and exhausted with my circumstances. Im not bad off by far I know in others eyes the stress is real. I thank you for being open, honest and willing to show what you deal with on a regular basis.
God bless you and baby! You are an inspiration to so many women! He is using you for your strength and to show others how strong they are. Stay blessed! 🖤✌🏾

@@hmongusa664 fully understand. I started out at this company making $10 an hour. I budget then as well. I didn’t work as many hours and my pay wasn’t as much . My bills wasn’t as much then either. Either way you can do it.

I started having to write out bills to help me budget as well. Right now, my wife has been healing from surgery the past few months. So Ive been covering the bills. Main thing I do is split the rent out of both checks during the month, it definitely helped me out. But you are doing a good job budgeting with what you have.

Thank you for the kind words and the offer to donate. I appreciate it! Yes! I just had two larger amounts of money I just place in my high yield savings account.
Thank you so much for your videos. Im trying to make it out here and just started doing a weekly budget since i get paid weekly. I appreciate you being so open about this topic. It helps me for 1
I’m 18 and make the same, but I work at a theme park so not full time. I remember feeling like I have nothing, but now I see that I am much blessed compared to others
And that you are. People want us to feel bad and the enemy want us to feel bad but we are still blessed. If we woke up with a roof and food in our stomach we are blessed. Do we want a little more? Yes we do but let us be thankful for what we have now. Blessings
Yes! It’s definitely going to save me in my future. They way things are going with the economy might not be no social security in the future. Thank you for the Covid care package. I should be showing the items in the next coming videos. Im going attach my happy mail to one of those. Thank you so much.

Hello Emily! So nice to have found your channel. That's an excellent job as a custodian for the school district BUT I would leave the moment you qualify for a pension. My husband is a Painting Contractor. I worked with him at 3 schools we had a contract with over the summer. I met about 6 custodians and 3 have cancer due to the chemicals? they used daily. Cleaners can cause cancer. My son's school had 4 people who developed cancer just from the building itself, including the principal. She died too. I would get out ASAP, maybe after a decade (if that's when you qualify for a pension). Now a guy I grew up with has cancer, he is retiring after 25 yrs of being a Custodian.

Keep on pushing mama you got this
You are so responsible with your income. You will be blessed for that. I’m sorry for the passing of your gramma. They are so special❤
Way to go, i a the wife that comments. You are doing great.
Update: I got the job!! 👍
If I get the job I’m interviewing for, this is close to how much I will make. I’m so glad to find some information on this!!!!! Maybe make a video on the groceries specifically. Would love to see how you use what’s in your stock pile and what you buy to go with that, meal plans etc
@@cassiebozeman2599 hi Cassie. Yes! 16 an hour may not be much for so many but you can survive on it with strategic planning and budgeting.

Thank you! Would love to see a video on how you do the grocery thing!!
Same here. Have an interview tomorrow for a $16/hr job. Hoping it goes well!

I appreciate this so much. Sometimes I see people with a $4k budget. Or $6k a month budget. This is much more realistic for us folks in the same pay range / salary
I’m glad you’re monetized now; I’m sorry for your loss!!
Thank you Daniel❤️
It’s so nice that someone has a realistic pay check!! This makes it seem doable so thank you!!
Thank you!
love this simplistic style of budgeting. nothing fancy and cheap. i always laugh when i see people buy $50 budgeting diarys when they could of saved $50. keep it up
@@Ryanthefrugal thank you!
Same here!
Yes. $72 seems high. I pay $50 in my area for decent service. ❤
Thank you! Yes! It’s hard but God is really giving me strength and providing for me and Ashton. Yes I believe things will get better for me.
Thanks
Thank you so much
This is the problem when it comes to benefits and subsidies.
It’s my first time watching too ❤

Thank you so much. Blessings to you as well.
One of the few very realistic budget on RUclips I can truly appreciate it and can relate too ❤
Thank you! I try to show how I live hoping that it may help someone that’s living just like me.
Hey, nice video. I dropped cable 9 years ago. I just have internet and firesticks. I save a lot doing this. You are doing great.
I'm from the UK but I thoughly enjoy these bi weekly budgets as well as your cashstuffing videos ❤ keep being fabulous hun ❤
Thank you Jamie❤️
I'm from the UK too and I'm so glad we have the NHS
I can relate so much. I write down all my expenses using Google sheets.
Hi!
How were you able to get a house at 22? Taking notes ✍️📄
I am doing okay but unless something changes, I'll be paycheck to paycheck in a few years
you're doing an incredible job. seriously. 90% of ppl in your position struggle so much worse because they don't have a realistic budgeting process. and it's so nice that you provide this knowledge and process to the wider internet.
and no matter what anyone thinks, 16/hr is NOT ENOUGH in what is supposed to be "the greatest country on earth"
I'm trying my best to show everyone that it can be done. Thank you!
I feel you when you thanked to the gift card provider.
Thank you
Thank you miss custodian.
Youre doing great. Your kids will look back on these videos one day and see how much their mom loved them.

Thank you so much Brittany
A loving and hardworking mom. You deserve all the success in the world. ♥️ Hope you reach your goals and dreams in this world
Thank you so much Dana. Much Blessings to you as well.
It’s good that you’re thinking about your future now. Please don’t wait to long.
I saved your latest videos to my watch later list. 😊 I hope everything starts looking up for you financially. You deserve it.
Thank you I agree with all your tips.
I do this at my own church once a month
God Blessed you and continue to work on your budget.
Emily, I'm glad you're feeling better. Good Job focusing on getting caught up.
Thank you TNDee. It’s be bad couple of days but I’m getting through it. I couldn’t shake the sickness so I had to go get into more debt and go to the er and urgent care.
