- Kenny and Renny return to the airwaves to break down the Winnipeg Jets offseason, which included a blockbuster deal of prospects Brayden Yager and Rutger McGroarty that went down on Thursday. Sportsnet analyst Jason Bukala will join the show as well.
Sorry for your loss Sean and thank you for sharing your memories and message.
Thank you once again for a great pop-up show. Thanks Kenny & Renny & Jason Bukala 👏👏👏
Thank you for the pop up show! Ken, hope you are enjoying a few Peroni’s right now. Sean, thanks for sharing your Bowie story. Sorry for your loss. I’m a dog lover too.
Rutger McGroarty's career is more of a group project than a solo mission-Jets dodged a bullet by not getting stuck with the entire McGroarty entourage.
Rutger McGroarty is going to be stud in this league, and gets the chance to play and learn from Sid and Geno. The Jets get another prospect who won't be joining the team for another 3-4 years while they expect a soft top 6 to magically improve in the playoffs.
Sounds like there are a lot of people in his ear.
@@pomerlain8924 3-4 years?
@@larshader9265 Yes, 3-4 years. That's generally how long the Jets bury prospects on the Moose. The only draft pick that's become a regular in the last 6 years has been Dylan Samberg.
@@pomerlain8924 Cole perfetti.
Schiefle and Trouba never went to the Moose. Conner was moose 1 year and 4 games the next before being called up. Ehlers 1 year with the mooseheads.
So sorry about your loss Renny, made me sad too remembering our lab who left us too at 13 yrs 6 months. But also remember all the happy times you had with him.
Thank you KnR. A quite summer until the swap. I thought the buffet would be stale but you guys would be refeshing and a little spicey. Fantastic guest and insights. I understand your balanced viewpoints on Laine, I hope he finds what and whom he is looking for. The fans in Montreal will turn him into a Swartzes bagel if he can't show up all over on and off the ice. I hit the like with the force of a September snowstorm in Calgary.
What I haven’t heard from the experts is the fact that time and again Chevy is able to pull a rabbit out of his hat when his back is against the wall. Trouba, Copp, Dubois, Liane, etc.
I’m so sorry for your loss, Sean. Dogs are amazing. God speed, Bowie.
Thx for the insight on Yager/McGroarty trade 👍
I LOVE the McGroarty for Yager trade, so excited to bring this guy into the lineup. 🎉🎉😎😎
Rutger’s skating will limit him to being a mid 6 winger
Rutger's skating will improve over time. All rookies have deficiencies. The difference is physicality and his skill will make-up for his skating. You all want to dump on him, claiming he's not that good, but he's was the forward the Jets top 6 needed. Scheifele is not scaring anyone. Connor is not scaring anyone. Ehlers is not scaring anyone. Namestnikov surely isn't scaring anyone.
@@pomerlain8924 the thing is skating this bad doesn’t just “improve over time”. It limits a player to being a middle 6 winger. Even Perfetti’s skating has barely improved and he was drafted in 2020. Not to mention rut’s far heavier and plays a heavy game
@@pomerlain8924 you can buy his mold in free agency, especially considering how bad he skates. I would much rather have a guy like Nino in my middle 6 and Yager on the way
Tacy & I send you hugs Sean. Sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss Rennie..pets are the best!
Ruthger is the player who has the pressure!
Can’t help but feel Jets are in tough in the Central this year. Nashville, Utah and St.Louis and even Minnesota are all improved from last year. Jets have IMO a weaker D than last year having lost Dillon. I just don’t see any D prospect stepping in that would maintain status quo ( which was marginal)
When are we getting Sidney Crosby?
Very sorry Sean, we had to put our Dog down last fall, and I still expect to see him, in his rest spots around the house to this day. Dogs become a special part of the family
I ❤ my dog too!! RIP
God Bless Bowie- thanks for the bitter sweet tears Renny. 🙏🏻
Remember the good times with Bowie
kenny staying hydrated....some things never change.
Thank you for the great show. Sorry about your dog, Sean
RIP Bowie. I am sorry for your loss Sean
Rip Bowie
GOOD HEARING U BACK
TWO DIFFERENT PLAYERS N FOR AS MUCH AS JETS COULD USE A PLAYER OF RUTGERS STYLE NUTHIN WRONG WIT A SKILLED RH CENTER SASK BOY
GD LUCK PADDY
N MAN DISSAPOINTIN NECAS DONT SEEM INTERESTED IN WPG
SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF BOWIE RENNY
LOSS MY BIG BOY T COUPL YRS BACK, ANOTHER BIG LAB N ANOTHER HAM, SIMPLY THE BEST RENNY
I want Scheifele,Morrissey,Lowry retire jets here's how young guys introgated even when Lowrys in mid/late 30s on 4th line.
Connor Scheifele Villardi
Chibrikov Lambert Perfetti
Nino Yager Barlow
Lowry
Jets should start targeting WHL guys happy with Yager deal
It be cool see Barlow/Yager play together WJC this year.
As for Rutger
I don't see him better then on jets
Connor,Ehlers,Perfetti,Villardi,Nino,Appleton, even a guy like iafallo or up and commercial like Lambert/Chibrikov
Where as penguins
Rakell Crosby Rust
Bunting Malkin Mcgroarty
Glass Hayes OConnor
Acciari Eller Lizotte
He will get top 6 time right away or at least top 9 and pad his numbers having Karlsson,Letang on D and 5 centers penguins have since Eller/Acciari can play center as well.
I don't see it as a Mcgroarty is better than Yager but needs Pittsburgh needs a Winger since they really lack in that department prospect pool is kind of empty from years to cups and prospects not hitting. They have Pickering from Manitoba
Jets need some grit in their Top 6 - and McGroarty had the potential to provide that. I’m disappointed it didn’t workout; though I don’t know that Chevy & the Jets org could’ve done anything to prevent this situation.
Meh you can get grit to sprinkle in the middle 6, look at Nino. Would rather have players that can actually skate in my top 6
@@chazlucifer I'd rather have players that can actually play physical in the top 6. Name a Jets forward that can do that? We saw how little they looked against Colorado in the playoffs. That was McGroarty. But you know, the likes of Namestnikov and Appleton will lead the Jets to promised land.
@@pomerlain8924 you think Mcgroaty is keeping up with the avs 🤣🤣🤣. Dude roll his game tape. He couldn’t finish games at Michigan down the stretch. That’s with a 45 game season. He was a ghost the entire playoffs
@@pomerlain8924 mason and Vlad are gone after this season and I gotta say Rutger Mcgroaty ain’t leading anybody to the promised land lol. He’s a middle 6 physical winger, that’s it. He’ll be a 45 point guy his entire career
@@chazlucifer Who on the Jets top 6 is keeping up with the Avs, or any physical team in the playoffs. Scheifele? Connor? Ehlers? Vilardi? Perfetti? Oh, and by the way Perfetti can't skate either, but yet you all want to call out how McGroarty is not a good skater and that will hold him back.
And you hope McGroarty will only be a 45-point per season player. All because you all are so butthurt that a young player had the temerity to take charge of his own career and want to play in a system that gave him a realistic chance to succeed, instead of staying in an organization where it's outdated development model has only produced one regular player in the past 6 seasons. An organization that buried young players on the Moose and kills their trade value while paying deference to veterans.
McGroarty will be scoring 40 goals and 80-100 points a season, while the Jets will be continue to be a bubble playoff team and not make it out of the first round. True North will still be begging fans to pay higher prices to come to games and you all will still be saying how great a GM Cheveldayoff is.
Rutger always gave me phony and cocky vibes . Not sure how people didn’t see through it. Called it last year . Good riddance entitled spoiled brat! Rutger better be ready for October. The “doesn’t feel right” chant will be in full force. Welcome Brayden!
sorry tough losing your dogie - he,s family
Rutger is immature
Bradon Yager looks very good.
Rutger is ready to play, and now he gets to learn from Crosby and Malkin and will likely be given the reigns in a few years when they retire. And when he's tearing it up on the Penguins, and the Jets still can't make it out of the first round, be happy. It's what you wanted.
Laine is a head case benched by 4 coaches , traded by two organizations .
great he gets a pp goal while giving up 16 chances in a losing game.
BUST
Thank you so much. Your back! With the exception of Rutger and Laine the buffet is tired but you two are fresh, funny and informative. Bang that like fellow followers.
