The oldest Yeti has 3 condenser capsules and the Yeti X has 4. Dynamic mics will always have a bit less character, but it also rejects a lot of background noise.
Only thing i hate about the GX is that it doesnt have a headphone jack. The the Yeti X and Wave 3, Shure MV7 all have headphone jacks and are all known quality usb mics. Even tho the Shure MV7 is also a XRL mic and a lil bit more expensive. Other then that with the Blue Software you can get the GX to sound like the Yeti X very easily. I also own the Shure SM7B but for some reason i like the presence of these usb mics as well.
$150 for a usb mic with no unique features? That seems like a not so good choice. You can get the Razer Seiren V2 X for $100. I would like to see an XLR option for the Yeti GX. That way you get the best of both worlds.
I know the HyperX Solocast microphone is a little bit older, but I would love to see/hear a comparison between that and the new Logitech ORB! Just an idea for a future comparison.
This is the first mic review I've seen literally move to different positions to test what it picks up. Why is this not more common lol. I feel like I've only seen that on explanation videos to show what each type is. For the yeti gx if I didn't crank my volume I wouldn't have heard you when you left the room. The sound quality is nice for each though knowing how much each picks up in the background is great for a comparison.
My pre-logitech Blue Yeti (which G Hub tells me I need to update but updating hasn't worked for years lmao) has much better sound than these. I keep it on my desk below my monitor. It only ever picks up my voice, never my cats or my keyboard and it sounds clear and crisp. I basically just talk like a normal conversation. I don't need RGB on my microphone. I need a mic that works and has zero upkeep.
Just ordered one of Amazon, I did have a shure sm7b and a rodecaster duo which was amazing but honestly for how much i used it i ended up selling it as it was just overkill and wasting money just sitting so I pulled my original yeti out and been using that but cant get away with the cardiod mics after using a dynamic so this is perfect 😀
Have they? The Sona is quite solid. Also, the original Blue Yeti is a product that pre-dates Logitech by quite a bit and is considered to be not very good by professional audio people. So ... basically their most popular product always was pretty bad.
@@dynastes4938 they have. And yes the yeti was overrated, but let’s not be disingenuous and pretend it was their only product. The bluebird, baby bottle, spark, etc were all excellent mics. Point is, Logitech just killed the brand because now “blue” microphones won’t release anymore. It’ll just be “Logitech G”
Questions techne are the Blackshark v2 pros the 2023 edition durable? Because I was about to get them after watching your whole video on them but then someone commented they are not durable was it just a razer hater?
Sadly there are multiple posts on reddit regarding this, with some plastic pieces popping off from cracked screw holes. Might want to do more research before picking one up
The same issues occured to me when I was deciding to buy the Blackshark V2 Pros last month. Unless you plan to throw the headset like a maniac from time to time, durability will always be in question. Same goes for every other headset. If I would make a month review of using the headset, everything is going smooth. I also got them because of techne! :D
The new GX mic sounds bad and looks bad. Just like they created all the RGB bling just for podcast/streamers. The orb sounds pretty good though. Elgoto wins no surprise. I still have a yeti X btw do a great mic if you have that mic just stick with it 😂
ps5 only supports 1 usb audio device at once. if you want a dedicated mic for ps5, need one with a headphone passthrough. else you would have to use speakers with a standalone mic, which is stupid, please dont do that
My Elgato Wav 3 picks up EVERYTHING. If I don't have the AI noise suppression turned on, it even picks up my PC fan like crazy. I'm surprised yours didn't pickup your neighbors and your dog's breathing from your living room. I still like it though (with the software and filters).
...SM57 with light EQ = SM7B on a budget, that doesnt need as much gain and that isnt as big and more versatile. SM7B is probably the most overvalued mic there is these days and it shows in the amount of fakes circling around.

Yeti X sounded best to me and was most flexible positioning-wise... not a bad option!
The old yeti sounds way better than any of those new mics. It picks up the voice better and the sound profile is lot better

Still couldn't buy one of these, had a snowball and yeti and they just pick up everything going on anywhere in your house.

For me, Fifine for its price is stupidly out of competition
Watching the video for the first time. It helped me out a lot. I'll be going for the Yeti GX s8nce I can find it for around 70 bucks now. Thank you!!
Did logitech just put a G403/G703 scroll wheel on the yeti gx? Nice mics tho

Bro that was the best review I've ever seen
What mic stand is that at 11:22? It looks so much better than the standard boom arm stand.
The Orb picked up the maximum amount of unwanted noise, the Wave 3 was next & the Yeti GX picked up the least amount of unwanted noise.
But no 1/8th plug for live filtering like most Shure mics have? They look gorgeous, but that's a must have feature IMO for anyone doing voice-over.
I know the HyperX Solocast microphone is a little bit older, but I would love to see/hear a comparison between that and the new Logitech ORB! Just an idea for a future comparison.
coming in hot as soon as i see the notification, i was looking a for good reviewer to bring this products on

When the mic peaks on the gx the wheel blinks red
Great review!!
Can you share the arm are you mentioned? 12:42

Using the rgb to let you know if you are blowing out the mic is super clever.

That was a Doggone good review bro 👍😎
Review the new Nacon revolution pro 5 Playstation 5 controller?
Thanks once again for a nice one 🇸🇪😉👍🏻
Logitech just casually killed off Blue Microphones and its extremely sad to see. Unfortunately, I think Astro may be next.
it's foolish really, they had some well-respected microphones for professional audio recording usage.

Kinda crazy blue went broke...
We know why now
Well, tell the rest of us how!

What ever happened to the Blue Sona, it doesn’t seem to be available anywhere to buy, in Australia at least

noise gate
@@xWaxxy what is that?
its not designed to block out noise, do some research before you buy a mic!
I’ve been using my wave for years now, love that thing. I don’t use any software with it either.
