      Ive had a combination party animal, drinker, drug weed smoker and problem child (18 years old) roommate and it was not fun. He drove me crazy with the fights with his boyfriend (who also slep with him in his bedroom for weeks). They had tons of fights, they ate all my food in the fridge, used all my plates en absolutely didn't clean it and the worst had 2 times a bloodbath, left both times for about 2 weeks and me and the other roommate downstairs had to clean the shit up. Also my downstairs roommate was a rlly strange person, i think mega autistic, played daily an hour piano and sinds corona twice a day an hour (piano your hear through the whole house). Further he was pretty to himself but his stories were always like everywhere in every house are cameras, the government is watching, Russia is spying on me... Rlly weird (to me nonsense) stories. Hard to really find out what he really did for work in the past. I probably never should have rented that room. Now i live on my own with my lovely kitty and i love her and love my appartment.

    I have ADHD and everything is relatively tidy and organised until you open the cupboards, out of sight, out of mind :D

      I’m the exact same way! I HAVE to live in structure or it’s chaotic and stressful for me. But open the closet and everything falls out 😂

    I get hyped focused on washing dishes or cutting up food I’m very very specific and don’t realize how long I take

    thank you for explaining why i have such trouble keeping my room clean! I often get demoralizing comments about it and people who insist they want to help me keep it neat. it was hard to explain why upkeep is just not possible for me but this is a great way of putting it.

    • @lethe.archive
      @lethe.archive 3 года назад +2

      the only thing i would say is ocd is a complicated disorder and conflating it with ‘just being neat’ is pretty inappropriate and dismissive.

    organized chaos ts so relatable to me that makes me feel understood

  • @natzblazin

    haahah very well put, love it! definatly the introverted ADD type. The only thing that doesn't apply to me is being straight forward/confronting. I avoid conflict more often or not until I blow up LOL but totally 100% agree the passive aggression type kills me, will completely overthink the smallest of situations... haha! good to laugh at now though.

    Huh, I like big tasks, but it's just a pain in the ass when you can't finish it in one go, so my sink is full, so I can't do dishes from my desk, I can't dust it because of the dishes, I can't hoover because dusting goes before that, I can't throw the rug into the washing machine because it's dusty, so that yogurt stain is there for at least six months and I'm starting to think of it as a person. Given that it's not really a yogurt stain, it very well could have been.

    I'm the crazy clean person, I use an organized environment as a coping mechanism for my adhd. It helps a lot because my environment can't distract me so easily.

      @@blakeperdue3706 I forgot I wrote this comment! We are all seniors in high school now, and right now it looks like we're going to be doing different things for college. Two of us are staying home to do community college, and the other two are looking for 4-year schools! Thanks for your reply :)

    I had a roommate last year that was sooo messy, the kitchen was always a tip and the worst of all: they used my dishes and didn’t wash them. And because like you I prefer to do things in bulk, it’d be a real nightmare to live with them

    I've once lived in a shared house with 7 people including myself and there was 2 persons I had a lot of sympathy with. The issue was, that there was a passive agressiveness among all other 5 shared house members - not against me, but against one of the two persons I had sympathy with - and I always got like "she's not guilty of every little crumb on the floor, don't expect that ... is her fault without knowing anything, how dare you" and confronted them in some sort of agressive, impulsive and direct way again and again - very exhausting!

    The passive aggressive that I avoided at all costs, then strangled me because I tried to get laundry when she was in there.

    having this roommate is like being in a circus I can't get out of

    • @naeberli9120
      @naeberli9120 2 года назад +1

      I have one now, and honestly, I'm looking forward to the day we move and she gets her own place. She's considerably younger than my spouse and I so we have much empathy for the situation, but ffs, the mess left in the kitchen everyday and me going in everyday and asking for a clean up . I am over it. I have read all about ADHD, spoke to my own therapist about how to best encourage our roomie to get help, for 18 months i've asked her to seek help. How much more time and friendly encouragement do I need to give before I blow the F up at her? I'm at my wits end with it. I will never purposely live with someone who has this condition ever again. IT is exhausting.

    Hi I've just been diagnosed with adhd and my roommate is a self proclaimed OCD/anxiecty AND passive aggressive girl. I am in Melbourne witch is in Stage 4 Lockdown. The word Nightmare does come to mind. We try to stay nice but she and I are at the end of our ropes. Thanks for the video, at least I understand why now !

    A type of roommate I will be is talkative and if there nice I would like to be there friend and I got dignosed with adhd when I was 9, I wouldn’t be a clean freak because I would forget to clean it anyway and I would have emotional outbursts and would be a party animal if I go to parties so if you are roommates with me in the furture then I’m sorry and I hope I have an adhd roommate so we can have BFFS because stuff in common and even my best friend who just has ADD even understands my adhd and she was
    My first friend also most or every person is adhd isn’t popular, they ether have a few friends or no friends because people who don’t understand will see them as annoying and there also more likey to get bullied and be rejected by peers and I know this because I dealt with all of the stuff I said and still do and I looked it up
