John Seymours books are always great. I am still looking for "the good life" and "the fat of the land" they are not in print anymore and rather expensive as used. I totally understand, who would want to give up their copies?

That scene where the pig escapes while loading.. I feel that at a cellular level.. trying to load full grown mangelitsa hogs who were terrified of crossing the gate where there used to be a hot wire was straight traumatizing 😆

Oh wow, great question. I honestly just eye ball it after doing it several times. I know that’s not helpful.
But it really does depend on what is on the ground. Grass, Acorns, forest floor, bare dirt, etc.
Main thing is to watch the paddock closely and be ready to move them.
My Sow is about 600 pounds
