I'm proud of you for displaying your products and letting people know they can buy them on your website. Please keep pushing your products, and don't let anyone detour you from doing that. Also, you should push your swag and let them know how cheap they can buy your t-shirts for. I own at least 8-10 of the shirts and they are awesome. Always ask for the sale!
I appreciate you friend. I’m actually gonna work on that trying to let folks know we sell all this cool stuff. I’ve never liked being a sales type guy. Guess I need to step up my game on that.
Your property is so nice! It looks like a desert all around you. You would think your neighbors would buy your guide and watch your videos. Curb appeal is increasing your bottom line. Thank you Pete for showing me how to have a beautiful stand of grass. I enjoy it more than anything on the property. Once you get started it really isn’t very hard. You can get alot of product down every spray. Mixing liquids is the way to go for me. This year I have done another soil test to fine tune things. This is a great hobby for anyone wanting a new one!
Maaaaaan! I am ready to go!!. We got 3 50+ degrees in Upstate NY so I will do some yard cleaning. Just ordered GCI Fert, 5-0-5, and Calcium. Got my prodiamine, Quinclorac, Speed Zone and Triad too. Got lots of Greene County stuff left over. All I need is that Blue Heat. Excuse me......that BLUE TAG Blue Heat! 😃 Just took the blades off and you should be getting them soon. Found out Honda is not making mowers for the US anymore. They will still be making engines. So I am looking forward to the mower review as I will most likely give my Honda away and looking purchase something that I know will be manufactured and supported going forward. LETS Go!!! 🤩

Hey Pete, long time viewer of GCI Turf here, hows everything going on the business side of things? Wife and I have been talking pretty seriously about me leaving my job to start up a landscape business but I really can’t wrap my head around how good of an idea it is. It seems like every other house around here a guy has a pickup truck with a lawn care sign on it but we really lack a very professional and serious business in my area from what I can tell. Thoughts on this? Hope all is well.

Pete, off topic question. It has been a really mild/warm winter in the Midwest (Iowa). Been in the 50’s and 60’s lately. Should a person put down insecticide/grub killer earlier since the ground never really froze? We are already seeing insects out and the news are saying it’s going to be a strong year with insects because of the weather. I usually put it down around April/ May. Your thoughts?
Mowing is ok even in the winter, if the reason is lawn health not lawn look. If the grass is too tall you can and you should cut it in the winter so that the blades do not stand on the ground and get disease. I would cut my lawn 2 times in the winter(cool season lawn)
Look up Allyn Hane lawn care nut hes your guy. I can grow st augustine easily its simple ..... i dont have any physical turf to show you so i dont "teach" it.
Anyone out there tell me what black patches of grass in my lawn could be. It's not the whole lawn but a section. I've let it get pretty long this winter without mowing, I did finally take a little off over weekend . It has been raining a lot this winter and it's gotten pretty saturated, but not sure. Maybe some kind of fungus?

I live in NC as well when do you like to first mow for the season?
Maybe next week.
Pete what do you think about mulching the leaves into the grass, iv always seen you blow them out of the yard. Why not mulch them up?

Pete, can you maintain a part of your KBG at 4"+ this year?

does the 20gal spray buddy have a drain port on the bottom
No. It’s not required. Money wasted I’d added. You disconnect the QD from the pump suction side to drain.

When you’re done spraying? Do you rinse your hose? After it’s all wrapped up?
Not during the growing season never have in 20 years as long as I’m spraying the same type of turf
Edit: after each spray I do put a little water in the tank but not for flushing reasons. I do it to get all the mix on the yard.
