- At this point in my life, I have been investing in the stock market for a full decade or 10 years. While that is a relatively short amount of time in the grand scheme of things, it is nearly my entire adult life. I have learned A LOT in those 10 years, and I wanted to share some of the most important lessons that I have learned while investing myself.

Great info as always Zach.
Thank You!
Needed these reminders today with the way my portfolio looks right now. Thanks as always Z!!
Hang in there! I know it looks bleak, but it's really only short term noise! “In the short run, the market is a voting machine but in the long run, it is a weighing machine.” -Benjamin Graham
Thanks I have felt those on several occasions.
Good to know that I'm not the only one! :)
Great content as always! Lessons many of us have learned along the way for sure.
Thank you! Many more lessons to learn as the years come!
I learned the phrase "don't let perfect be the enemy of good" from your videos and use it about every day. For me I had debilitating indecision about Roth vs taxable vs 403b and Charles Schwab vs vanguard ect.. would take no action because I didn't have the perfect answer. Then I just started. No it's not Vanguard total stock market but Scwaabs version but it's good enough!
Absolutely! I'm so glad that you took positive action! Your comments really keep me going, Niki! :)
I learned consistently investing in index funds is a winning strategy over decades. It may be boring for some, but when you wake up one day in retirement a millionaire, you'd realize it was worth it.
Absolutely! It is "boring" but boring is good in this case! You actually will most likely end up with better investment returns than most other investors.
What user-friendly/low cost platform do you recommend using to buy ETFs for long term investing?
I personally use and recommend M1. Please watch my video on why I switched to M1 from Fidelity (although Fidelity is great as well).

What is the difference between VXUS (Vanguard Total Intl Stock Idx Fund) & VT (Vanguard Total World Stock Index Fund) why would you chose VXUS over VT?
The difference is that VT is both U.S. and International Stock with an allocation that is meant to mimic the global asset allocation. VT is currently about 61% U.S. and 39% International Stock. I would prefer more U.S. stock allocation to international allocation (I choose 80% U.S. and 20% International). So, I use a Total U.S. Stock Market Index Fund (VTSAX) and a Total International Stock Market Index Fund (VXUS) to accomplish that.
Well, actually I use the ETF versions of those funds, but its same/same.
Thank you for clearing that up for me. Maybe that’s an idea for a future video explaining the differences between them, you do a good job of simplifying things in your video.
Thank you! I'm happy to help!@@keithnick7156
