Actually, the developers behind rFactor games made the game! That's how I got here in 2024, 2AM. EA did publish, and already was in the "let's buy all the promising developers and milk them" stage, but wasn't that bad, it was the latter half of the decade the awesome studios crumbled under the release pressure and got minced up. Another corporate shitshow fun-fact, if you remember the licensing drama about Unity (game engine) a few years back, trying to pass a license change that retroactively makes developers pay per-install fee to the parent company? How does this connect? CEO is the same guy, after ruining countless great studios at EA, guy went on to continue his record. Gotta love CEOs!

I started simracing back in around 2007 on cheap plastic Logitech wheel in F1 2002 and later F1 99-02. Then the road lead me to the iteration of game engine used in those F1 games - rFactor. Today, rF2 is the king of sim racing IMHO in terms of FFB and the road feel.

Question: how do u setup the car? I use the default setup (each circuit has it own 2 default: the circuit name and the grip), the car only got 6 gear and it barely pass 290kph. Only in monza and indy it got 7 gear and 310kph for indy and 330 for monza. Other circuit the car slow af. I play against 100% cpu strength and got smoked

To avoid spinning without aids on you either need a steering wheel or on a gamepad don't set throttle on a face button like an X on a PS2 style pad. Use either the right anologue stick, pushing forward for the accelerator. Or if on an Xbox style pad you can also use the lower right side trigger. Forgot it's technical pad name. That way on both configures you can feed throttle in gently. You can also set in controller options the sensitivity of your pad or wheel axis for throttle, steering breaking etc.
I know you can set throttle as a face button and reduce its sensitive (so you don't wheelspin) in the settings and digital rates and dead zones. I prefer though to use a axis because of its realistic pedal like travel.

I'm trying to play this game with a gamepad but it seems very sensitive. I have the speed sensitivity at full and every other sensetivity setting at the minimum and yet the game still feels overly sensitive. Does anyone know what the heck is going on and what can I do to make it better?
At the top where it says driver name James Graham, I have a Stig picture instead of the real driver photo. Makes it more authentic. Also EA made a mistake on the GB flag. They didn't put the union Jack in. You can get a file somewhere? (On my hard drive) and just drop the Union Jack into the game files, so you can pick that flag at the start of your career. If you've already started a career you'll have to restart from the beginning to accept the Union Jack flag. Why you say the UJ flag. Because we know in Motorsport and F1 that drivers who are English, Scottish, Welsh or Irish are usually shown as British drivers with a UJ flag. You can though go with nationalist pride and go with your area flag like Scotland. If anybody wants the Stig and UJ flag. Give me a nod and I'll try upload them somewhere and provide a link.
