Man, this sounded great! You played it really well! I’m pretty new to drumming at 52 years old, but I’m going to try to learn this song from your video. The camera angles are excellent. Good job!
As Rocky would say,"Yo Paulie." You did this very well. I'm an off and on again drummer for more than 55 years{ we had to raise a family} so I ALWAYS notice the little nuances of drumming styles. What I noticed about you is how totally relaxed you are. And THAT is the big secret to top shelf drummers. On RUclips I've seen slightly tense, a little tense and full blown straight arm leg tense. You have it mastered. Therefore you made your performance look effortless. And that's how veteran drummers perform. So very well done. One of the best I've seen.
Criminally underrated drummer and equally criminally underrated album. I was 14 When I picked up The Warning, Ride the Lightning and Piece of Mind way back in 84, Lars, Scott and Nicko were my metal mentors, I had to play like them. So I saved my paper route and lawn mowing money and bought myself a second hand 5 piece drum kit from the local pawn shop and drove my neighbours and parents nuts for the next 5 years. then I got my own place and drove my new neighbours nuts... But Scott Rockenfield never gets mentioned when people discuss great rock drummers...
That's better by far than the last time I saw Scott himself play it--he (over)simplified it so much! It's disheartening to see skilled drummers like him take the easy way out when they're no longer trying to "make it" or stand out. Great job man! I admit I've never taken the time to learn this one. I may be too old to do it now lol
That was really good. I just covered the same song a few weeks ago and it's cool to see where other people had their own spin on the same song etc!!! Very cool!!!
Great performance. Althought I'm not much of a hard hitter myself, I like this song so much, I don't know how you could refrain from really pounding those drums, haha! But, not an ounce of energy wasted on this otherwise suprisingly complex song. A+!
... I have not yet been able to play a song of this Band and I agree with what you said about the drummer - tremendously complex and, as always, you transform such complexity into something apparently simple ... Impressive, Paul!👌🏻👋🏻✨🙏🏻🥁^_^
Omg man. This was so awesome. Amazing performance like always and some dang good editing my friend. Love the dynamics of your playing on this song. Pretty powerful bro. Drums sound amazing as well.
Nice one mate. Rockenfield is quite a hard drummer to copy. You don’t actually realise how technical he is until you start to play his stuff. Well done. Cheers Paul.
Actually, I need to reach you for a possible collaboration so I messaged a Paul Nehls on facebook 🙂 You may have missed it as we're not FB friends. Could you please check your message requests on FB?
Well done! VERY well done! As a guitarist, I take "cues" from my drummer more than most people do and I certainly appreciate this version for sure. Too bad they pulled a "Beatles" and broke up over personalities and fought in court. One hell of a band and many others couldn't put together what Rockenfeld, Tate, DeGarmo, et. al could ever have dreamed of...
One I'd my top-3 favorite songs off my favorite Queensrÿche album. Shane that the guitars are mixed to low-but done so dies a mysterious nuance to the sound. U live Scott Rockeld's drumming. You puked it off to a "T"...!!
Very nice bro but only one little criticism for you and it's not taken away from your drum drumming.Your simplicity is very nice and s*** but in order to play that song right you got to f****** rock that s*** man you got to slam that b****** man. I know you don't want to hurt your drums and I know you're a professional drummer prefer to play out more of a studio and a format and proper way drum level But if you want me to do this😮😮😮you got to throw slam them* pieces of sticks with a little more authority f you want to play that song, . You hurt my feelings. Just kidding, that's one of my favorite songs. That's a bad m*********** it's a nice tight. It's tight and loud like f****** rock and roll this man. But by the way I love your drumming. You're very good though,.. far better than me..
