I lived so much time without a decent Internet connection, and outside of the milsim community. It's amazing to be catching up with the games that we have today and the ones we will have in the future.
Depends on the price, but I'd be willing to check it out. Nothing shown so far really stands out as being very unique. We've gotten a dozen or so tactical shooters in the last 4-6 years, all with varying levels of "milsim" features. Let's see some prioritization of mod support and I'm much more interested.
@@GG_SpaceGhost You’re not wrong! Though knowing the caliber of development team I’d say this one will stand out amongst the crowd. It may not be balls to the wall at launch but it might be close. I believe he said something about mod support in future but right now they’re focusing on nailing the core gameplay.
no singleplayer makes it irrelevant. we already have a surfeit of realistic high quality multiplayer tactical military games. ground branch, ready or not, grayzone, arma reforger, squad, etc to name a few. what sets this apart?
Sometimes if they just get them to work would be amazing how long Tarkov been around and after update you still can't play that shit I'm excited and ready for a group of men that actually know what the hell they are doing.
The guys developing it all use tons of mods in the other games they play. I have no doubt they will bring in a ton of modders once they've got the base game sorted out.
Many of us would like to see: - Wild animals and predators that can interfere the events and outcome of a mission. - Human tracking capacity: leaving footprints, wheelprints, blood stains, altered vegetation and environment due to human presence. - Mission editor. - Standard price for an indie game.
warthunder like armor models not full detail but armor thickness and how shells effect the crews health specific to hit area, along with engine track and armorment being able to be disabeld
no talk about single player content and AI companions. If there is not im gonna play ARMA and old school Tom Clancy than another multiplayer reliant game.
The issue is that this can just be a mod in Arma and maps can be made in the new infusion engine. So I see the potential but at the same time it's tough. ARMA also has AI Reforger AI has improved a lot(still needs a lot of work) but no vehicles ? No helis ?
So my issue is this: it will be easier to do this in Arma 4. It will literaly take 100x less hours and we'll have the same result but also millions of assets on top of that. And hey, I love Karmakut but his perspective on what's fun and not fun is really skewed by the fact he's a streamer. A specific type of streamer. I just have hard time believing it will translate to a product that will be liked by more people.
That’s a fair assessment, and I feel that’s where the rest of his team is there to course correct and provide that internal feedback should it get off the rails. We’ll see how it turns out!
This looks pretty sick. Personally, I do prefer sim gameplay on all levels. My old unit had a few real world first responders and veteran medical personnel, so we went pretty hard with our implementation of ACE Medical, KAT and Pharmacy mods, which I thought was fun. I like when TCCC actually feels like it's a high stakes pursuit that is extremely time sensitive. But that's Arma; this is clearly geared more toward more typical tactical FPS gameplay, which I also enjoy. Having played a bit of all of the other devs games mentioned and feeling like all of them were sort of incomplete in one way or another, I'm excited to see what these guys produce together. That ATAK UI looks pretty freakin' awesome.
@@JesseArt I hear you, and there is definitely a huge audience that loves the advanced medical stuff and I’m glad they have their space where they can thrive and employ life saving actions. I liken that to when I’m on a high stakes CAS call and time is a factor
Lets not forget that MILSIM is a niche - it already has features that will probably filter out most of the casual players - It will probably not be a big economical success, but it will be played
@@johjoh9270 Fair, Arma is unmatched. I look at tactical shooters as games like this and Arma as military simulators. “Shooter” to me is just that, shooting and not much else. Arma is on a whole other level.
@@Viper1Zero I mean the problem is all these new tactical shooters forgot the "game" part along the way, like, not mean they shoudl be more arcade, but like, they have no game mode, no campagin, no servers, unless you join with a closed group you can do nothing, cool customization but tactical barbie on the end Even if the gunplay isn't the best, Arma got everything from the start, user created missions, official campaigns in plural (although not reforger), official gamemodes that servers can run etc Plus, I'm really skeptical on any youtuber running it, whatever they wish, games are not cheap nor simple to develop, I question wether any youtuber has sufficient funds to do so in the first place
I personally do not like the position of the weapon and the animation of carrying the rifle, I would like it to be positioned in the middle of the screen instead of standing in the right corner and in the options we can set it to be closer or further away from the player's body so that the whole rifle can be seen and to insert a free aiming deadzone which would lead to the fact that when you go left you see the left side of the gun and when you go right you see the right side of the gun, similar to Bodycam
I was trying to make the mod in OHD and it looked quite nice and the gameplay itself is much more believable. I really enjoyed it. And like this, when I see this old way of weapon animation that is fixed in the lower right part of the screen, it disgusts me so much. Somehow the games have progressed graphically, but the animations have remained the same as they were 20 years ago
Hi, what about some tank modes for Arma 3, I just discovered the Zeus airstrikes and arty sisteme there and I want to start ,,cratering the map" like you said :)
My biggest hope is that it comes out and doesn't need DLSS to get to 60 fps at 1080p like a lot of the games coming out recently. Other than that only time will tell if this game is for me. I like how all the ideas sound so far. I just wonder how it will all interact with each other once it is out in the wild. There are so many more factors that will determine whether this succeeds in the stuffed MILSIM market. I hope it finds it's place and I hope it shakes things up in a good way. I would love if it lit a fire under the butt of other game dev teams out there.
I’m really really looking forward to this, second I have a chance to support I’m going too. Looks like what I hoped Squad was gonna be, but looking at stuff like Road to Vostok and the like, seeing the changes happen as the games developed; yeah, I really can’t wait to support and be involved in this development.
with a team with that kind of resume, proper management is going to be key. to many passion projects have collapsed or delivered a barely functioning product because of piss poor management
I’m only hoping it runs faster than a powerpoint slideshow. 3DMAs models are too detailed and over complicated. I’ve only seen guys run their assets in Arma for artwork projects.

I'll actually be excited about an Arma challenger. Fair enough if that is your thing, but man....when the hell are we going to find some of these so-called "big names" get brave enough to pool all that money, talent, and experience to give Arma a run for its money?!
