I agree. I 100% this game and it’s a lot of fun… until it’s not and then it is a SLOG! Must of taken me over 100hrs and won’t go back to it. Great video!
I’m really glad you liked it definitely took quite the mental toll on me
yeah i 100% it and then i unistaled bc there was nothing more to do
So your saying its really fun and then it's not. Which one is it? For me is was bad the whole way through. Boring, uncreative, bad level design, no custom characters. Tcs is miles above this game in terms of those aspects
@ it’s a fun game if you’re playing it casually. If you’re grinding to complete all planets and get the 1500 odd kyber bricks, then it’s less fun and becomes a slog and repetitive
This game just doesn't hold up to the original one. The levels are just too short. Too much focus on the open world, without it being interesting. Ruining the Mustafar level by not having you fight the second player, instead having them play either C-3PO or R2-D2 to watch you fight a computer Anakin. I couldn't finish this game with my friend back when it came out. We finished the first 6 movies but then we were just totally disappointed with this game. It just wasn't fun. It was work.
I totally agree you cant put that much focus on the open world if its a soulless wasteland
What I'm about to say is coming from someone who's played Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, The Clone Wars, and The Skywalker Saga
One of my biggest mixed opinions about this game are the character classes. On the one hand, past games haven't been the most obvious about what character can do what, so a part of me appreciates them making it incredibly obvious for new players.
But on the other hand...i feel like this whole system is very limiting. Past games have had some interesting overlap in what characters can do. The biggest one off the top of my head is IG-88. He was first and foremost a bounty hunter, and so could activate bounty hunter panels or throw thermal detonators. But since he was also a droid, he could activate protocol droid and astromech droid panels. That was really interesting, and a cool easter egg for players who thought to experiment a little bit.
And the really frustrating part is there's so many opportunities for that in this game. Rey could easily be a jedi, but could also use some abilities for the scavenger given how she grew up AS A SCAVENGER. Finn could use abilities for both a hero and a villain, since he's...y'know...a former stormtrooper. We learn in Rise of Skywalker that Poe used to be into some shady stuff. So why not also give him the abilities of a smuggler? And on and on down the list of characters.
Another thing i didn't really enjoy was the lack of Free Play in a lot of levels. Namely, any space battle, or the level They Fly Now in RoS. In my journey to 100%, it felt incredibly disappointing when a game that's almost 20 years old (Complete Saga) was able to get that right, but a game from 2022 could not.
The last point i want to bring up is the overall tone of the game. Now, Lego games have always been really goofy. No one is going to deny that. But as i played through this game, it felt like they made it a bit TOO goofy. A lot of the custscenes feel like an 8-year-old was given too much candy and soda and then told to direct a scene. The biggest example i can think of is the climax of A New Hope when they're attacking the Death Star. Vader radios the other TIEs to cover him, and like 20 fly in from out of nowhere and stick to his ship like they're all glued together. The way they animated that just felt...off, to me.
Overall, i want to like Star Wars, and i wanted to like this game. It definitely took a lot of people a lot of time to make. And maybe I'm just overthinking it all. But issues like what i listed above, as well as your issue about the "puzzles" being incredibly mindless, and this game just left me feeling like it was incredibly rushed, and ultimately leaving me feeling disappointed.
That was probably the best comment I’ve ever gotten I pretty much completely agree with everything you said, much love and I’m glad you liked the video
so in other word you have no clue what the game focus even is....... its a open world game!
Preach broski! Literally me
@@adrianstjrnfldt...ok? How does that invalidate any of my criticisms?
yeah a lot of characters deaths are tonned down like kids cant handle lego figures dying
This game definitely feels impacted by the long development and all the features management wanted added in. Having so many of the highlights from previous games relegated into either walking dialogue or just open area combat simply for the same of differing itself from the previous entry definitely hurt - there was a reason those particular moments were such good levels, and losing replayability is lamentable. And there's so few reasons to use most characters, when there's so many and they're all near-identical (only unique bits I can think of are Imperial Guards and Grievous not having blasters, when they both should.)
I agree with you, there's definitely some missed opportunities.
i wish it was just the complete saga, only with the new trilogy and the open worlds
I also 100% the game, yeah it was a slog. The only upside is I was playing as Vader on the last level of Episode 6 and when I got the last minikit 100% the game he said "I remember this from a long time ago"
That is a pretty cool way to finish
@@The-MrBisonyeah it was also a complete accident to
+1 subscriber. I liked you're video a lot 😁
Awesome, thank you! Glad you liked it
I did 100% and platinum
Brazil here I love lego games
The stud fountain for tcs is the reward for getting 150 gold bricks. Not for 100%. The 100% reward is your cc's getting all the abilities in the game and also being able to customize asajj ventress and sasee tin from the 2003 micro series
I only played it bc it was free on epic bc man if i paid for this game i would be really upset, the game has some qualities, it is gorgeous and i like walking and exploring planets and flying on ships doing space battles, but damm the missions are so rushed and the post game is so boring with a lot of reused tasks.
Edit: Damm your video quality is top notch for a guy with 100+ subs, hope you get lots more bc this video is good.
I’m really glad you like it I’m working on more videos coming out soon, tryna keep making the quality better and better
psychonauts mentioned, instant sub
😂😂 at least I know I’m doing something right
I left this comment on another video critiquing the game but it’s relevant here too so:
One problem I had was the lack of co-operative AI partners, in previous games if you stand on one pressure plate to maybe, open a door, your partner would stand on the other one, in this game you have to switch characters in order to achieve that.
I would say more about this game but I haven’t played through it more than once and haven’t thought about it much since, I could’ve told more problems 2 years ago
Edit;m: The third person shooter segments suck, mostly cos they’re piss easy
Also those parts in IV and V where you have to fight wave after wave of troopers blow too
A separate issue is that each character is homogenous with all the characters from their respective classes, like Resistance Finn can’t use first order computers for example
Any time you travel to a planet during a side quest you can get as many as 3 waves of enemy ships to destroy
Weird you can’t free roam around Kijimi in any capacity
Yeah I would agree with pretty much all of they this game has some very weird and unique problems that’s for sure
@ The short levels are also a problem for me, but everyone has said their piece on that
this game was awful to 100%, took me 85 hours
Yeah it was not a fun time😂
this game sucked to complete. there's a fun bug where you can get 99.98 percent then the final side quest won't appear. I had to start a second save file to complete just that quest then edit my save file to simulate me doing it on the other file. I've 100%d a lot of games that are multi hundred hour grinds yet this game is hands down the worst 100% I've ever done
I feel that man I knew going into it that it was gonna be a little rough but I couldn’t have predicted how bad it was
I have the same problem with gonk paradise quest, how i can edit an save file?
@@GameBoy-ow8vf if you look at your save file it tracks it quest by quest in the save data file on pc. if you do that quest on another file you can see what it adds to your file then add it into your other one. I'm a software programmer so it wasn't too hard to understand how it works. if it seems overwhelming I'd honestly just recommend playing the quest on a different save then downloading a 100% save online and loading that up once you've done everything in the game across the 2 saves. not very satisfying but fuck this game
Cool video! :P
Thanks I’m glad you liked it
