The gifts and callings of God are without repentance, God doesn't go back on them, they're ours whether we use them for good or ill. The boys from the classic lineup still have it! Would love to see one of the Petra bassists join them, and a classic CCM guitarist, such as - Tony from Guardian, Dennis from Angelica, Paul from Bloodgood, Dave from Broken Heart, Ken from Shout, etc.
I have tears as I write this. I remember helping setup a Petra concert back in the 80's. These are nice guys so I don't mean any disrespect. But I remember distinctly them publicly criticizing Prince who had just released Purple Rain. Well. Suffice it to say Prince's movie Purple Rain has had greater impact than anything Petra has ever done. As a musician who lost his entire family to death I can tell you Prince demonstrated through Purple Rain a depth of feeling and soul they could never ever touch. When you've lost it all and still see God sitting on the throne judging and continuing to hold us all in His mighty hand of care and love I feel sorry for the self righteous Christians that can't see past they're own foolish pride. Shame on all of you and God have mercy on your souls.
Totally off base. There is now way you can know how many times Petra and other Christian musicians have blessed other and helped them fins the Lord. Prince never helped anyone find the Lord with his music.
@@alancummings5651 That depends on how you look at it. If you HONESTLY look at it - Petra is converting people to an idolatrous religion hellbent on turning people away from God's eternal commands given in the Torah. Preaching that God's laws are done away with, you don't need to eat kosher, keep the wrong Sabbath, it's okay getting tats, you need a mediator between you and God and the king of heresies - Jesus is God . . . WOW. Therefore, they are putting people on a destructive path that after years of suffering and confusion some actually pray for deliverance from deceit and return to God alone. And while Prince didn't tell people to go that route he did keep a commandment that MANY christians do not - HE HONORED HIS PARENTS. In fact, his dying mother asked him not to perform those 'naughty' songs anymore and he kept that promise. I know MANY christians that completely dismiss their parents so - there you go.
Thanks so much for share, God bless.

And usually when someone is critic Christians it is be they are hurt and fell judged when the only conviction is from the Holy Spirit.
Who exactly said what exactly in criticism of Prince?
@@Theospeak1 Voltz criticized Prince's performance, mocking him, etc. But honestly, that was over 35 years ago.
