I remember when Need for Speed wasn't so complicated. Like Undercover, Carbon and Most Wanted. Just put the best parts on your car and hammer that nitrous button in a race. Lol.
Well I'm trying for a long time now to set up my r8 and I had a lot of issues, especially with the handling of the car. Now I solved the problem and if some of you have the same issue the setup is full steering, showcase suspensions, showcase differential, elite track or race tires, (it depends on the level of sliding you want). I hope I helped some people with this.
@@benjaminsumule1723 yes 👍 because the car can't steer properly on high speeds, in fact it doesn't steer at all for some reason and you literally must drop your speed so much when you're approaching a corner that it gets pointless to even own an R8 in this game.

Imma just leave this here since nobody ever seems to talk about or mention this: A few cars in the game, mainly AWD cars are very grippy and hard to get through turns, some are just abominable, like Huracan Performante, R34 Skyline GTR, ‘06 Subaru Wrx Sti, Audi R8, 911 GT3 RS, McLaren P1 & P1 GTR, 918 Spyder, ‘10 BMW M3 & M5, GTR Nismo & Huracan (last two are debatable). These care with just track parts aren’t going to perform the best (as RACE builds), these cars require specific parts and builds to get the best performance as far as HANDLING goes per car, some cars just won’t do with all track parts, and some lower level parts perform better than higher level parts on top of that. The game is just assed backwards, but I highly recommend you experiment with these parts. For example, the Audi R8, you may lose slight cornering ability with a (Super) Showcase Differential but it will drift every corner without a problem vs you having to grip through and lose tremendous speed and not even drift. You may lose slight 0-60 with some cars. But to stabilize these cars handling and balance them out, it DAMN sure is worth the trade off. Whether it be with better drifting mechanics, better cornering ability, stabilizing the car from sliding back and forth, or preventing the car from sliding back and forth and then the car freezes up with you not being able to steer or move at all for a good 1-2 seconds (the Performante and a few others do this). In the aftermath though, the results on at least most of the cars are amazing. Some of them can be tricky, but it’s worth putting time into and considering. Some cars like the Viper & the Challenger are just terrible no matter what you put on them. And with some cars, in order to get them to drift you have to turn and hit the brake at the same time, if you turn before braking they’re not gonna drift. All of mine perform rather well for the most parts, some I’d even say are close if not top tier cars. A good portion of the playerbase isn’t aware of this though. Before you hop in a car and slap track parts on, experiment with the car outside of the just the engine swap. A lot of the cars I listed will surprise you.

I have all racing parts on mine, but switched the differential out to get more drift. The dot is about halfway between the corner of road/race and the center of road. Downforce is default and turning sensitivity maxed. I love the way it handles like that. Pump the gas and I get just enough slide out of my car to go around bends the way I like while keeping the car grippy and quick to accelerate.

I am a big fan of the R8 personally and have also found that the stock engine is the best for me. 8 speed of course for this beauty. I just recently started playing this and as per everyone's recommendation got the Ford GT. Then saw the R8 bought it, and used it to climb to level 50 and getting all the ultimate parts. This car is a beast. With elite parts it reaches 385 level which is good enough speed to get away from cops, but the main thing is that this thing is a monster. I took on a head on collision from a rhino while already having low health, something that would have wrecked the Ford GT, and managed to evade the cops, granted i was at critical failure, but it wasn't an immediate shutdown. This thing can take hits!
Same I found it and got to lvl 50 with it I absolutely loved it until my homies started building those certain cars that are just untouchable cus we started getting too much bread! and I had to shelf it😭😂.

+Metalic I have noticed it as well. It seems to happen a lot when I think I’ve hit the turn at the perfect angle so I keep the throttle pinned...I tend to come out of the turn wider than anticipated. I’m going to be honest I did a few test between the Lamborghini Huracan not the perfomonte model against the r8 and the lambo rips through the corners but looses a lot of speed so dose the r8 but what surprised me is that in reality these car have the same motor idk why need for speed made them react very differently

I was trying this car a few days ago and it's really grippy. So, i want to know, do you take corners using hand brake? (i'm wondering if the hand brake is better or worse while steering.) I was driving the corvette that came with the game (the K.S. version) and that car take corners like a boss, but i usually use gas and slide/drift. I tried the same with the R8 and eat a wall LoL. It’s funny, because the 1st month the game came out many were throwing on that 8.4L V10 on every car thinking it was the OP engine swap. It’s actually one of the worst engines to swap with and the only car it shows what it can really do is the VIPER, but the VIPER doesn’t handle well. In other cars it’s more bark than bite.

I'm not sure why, but a lot of those supercars run better with their stock engines ie the Audi R8, GT3 & GT2 Porsches and the ZR1 Corvette. I'd only swap engines if there are Forged versions available or the power to weight ratio is significantly beneficial. Otherwise you are in many cases wasting a lot of time and money that you could be using for buying and building more cars. 👍

I had to go with track tires, max steering sensitivity, 0 downforce to get it to drift. Just right in track races. Love it.

The 3.5l V6 make 1'132hp and the 8.4l V10 make just 68 more hp... With more than double the displacement... Game Logic at it's best.

Standard polestar for drift please. I think this car needs to configured differently to other drift cars to drift in the same class as the rx-7

That’s just how the R8 handles. You have to handbrake just before a turn to get it to slide

I'm not sure why, but a lot of those supercars run better with their stock engines ie the Audi R8, GT3 & GT2 Porsches and the ZR1 Corvette.
I'd only swap engines if there are Forged versions available or the power to weight ratio is significantly beneficial. Otherwise you are in many cases wasting a lot of time and money that you could be using for buying and building more cars. 👍

@@mktv167 kk gonna build a 71 skyline. Have you tried maxing out the 911 gts? Handles incredibly. My fav car so far I just wish it was faster
