@@kuladeeparun true but my reason is specifically that as its a kind of a knowledge podcast so it's better to have the person on the whole screen who's talk but then again that's my opinion
Interesting fact: I read in my 6th std that copper was discovered while making pottery. So what happened was in kilns, where pottery is kept to dry by burning fire, some new shiny substance used to get collected on the ground (in small amounts) so this is how they discovered copper. (May not be true but thought I would just share)
It's not that people before bronze age didn't have a utensil for keeping liquid. Pottery might have not been present, but there are enough evidences of water being carried around in skins, mud vessels and thatched wood. Metal enabled it for for longer travels and more trustworthy
The weirdest mystery is the Bronze Age collapse. Suddenly in every part of the world, from India to Egypt to Mesopotamia to Europe, civilizations collapsed overnight within a century. Humans went back from mega developed cities like Harappa to dusty village life. Historians still don't know why this happened. Some cataclysmic event? Earthquakes? Drought? Who knows. Keep reading history, and not the whatsapp / republic tv types.
@Gaurang Tiwari they were called the Sea People :) Still unknown but most likely the band of mixed-ethnic pirates who used to raid all the Mediterranean kingdoms
A very interesting thing to note is that all these civilizations have a record of seven sages and a great flood. Maybe this thing is more related to the end of the ice age rather than the end of the bronze age. But in all these tales they say that there existed a well-established human society which makes me think it most probably happened after the bronze age.

Love this series! A few points and suggestions (which you guys might be aware of already) - 1) Regarding IVC- there is also a very well know theory and some visual proof which suggests that it died out as a result of a potential nuclear holocaust. 2) While making an episode regarding civilizations of Indian Subcontinent I hope you guys will research the Sarasvati Civilization as well which existed around the same time or probably was older than the IVC. A lot of research regarding it has been done around the famous Ghaggar-Hakra channel and the research is ongoing. There are multiple books you guys can refer to for that. A couple of them being- The Lost River and the more recent work The Sarasvati Civilization. 3) Please refrain from talking about the AIT which has been debunked like a thousand times. About time we stopped paying any heed to it.
One thing I would like to point out is, the concept of marriage started after the original agricultural revolution and after the introduction of private property. ( it all happened around the same period. )
I really love this episode . But please do consider to discuss about events or empires which are not presented in NCERT, including right also m I have read NCERT Book twice , so would not like to hear the same thing again. Great work btw ❤️ After kvizzing , I have something to wait for.
Hi Kv, love these deep dives interviews! One small question, will we see more of 2 past 2 curious. It was one of my favourite shows on youtube. Would love to see more of that.
I loved your podcast and this upload. I love history and I an just a secondary grade student but learning on it also ,could you guys do a episode on the Aztec society.
I just binge watched all the 5 episodes. Glad to see non-experts and just curious humans talk about these topics. Also, I love when KV has his moments of being mind blown :P If you guys can put key resources in description that would be really helpful :) Looking forward to more of this podcast! Lots of love
Platinum literally means poor silver as conquisdators were looking only for gold, silver at that time. Infact a few ships going from central America to Europe, had thrown tons of it overboard (into the sea!) amidst their voyages when they needed to reduce their cargo.
Dude, you guys made history so much fun!! Where were you when I was in middle school struggling with History.....anyway I am waiting for more of these fun and intuitive podcasts!
I feel like you guys can also get into the yellow river and pre-columbian american civilizations with the iron age episode (interestingly, for the americas, you could do an alt. take on iron tools as they, instead of relying on metals, chose to stick with more refined versions of obsidian for crafting weapons and sharp tools)
fantastic discussion between KV and BKR.....all thier discussions should be recorded and should be made a compulsory part of the senior school curricula.
SUMERIAN civilization not Egypt the writing came from. Iron age before bronze age . Stone, iron and copper, bronze, then advanced iron age and brass age.
I want to hear you guys discuss the Ottoman Empire, more specifically the 15th century - very interested to hear tactics for war and trade from that time and what role women played. Additionally, what were contemporary kingdoms and heads doing in the other parts of the world at the same time.
Ok i have heard a few things about end of Rome in a RUclips video. They said since Rome was hit by a bunch of earthquakes one after another called earthquake storms. It was not empire shattering but since it was so connected to the rest of the world in trades and diplomacy and the rest of the world was not so it resulted in a huge colapse within the empire and resulted in huge peasant uprising due to massive inflation. The rest of the world moved on but Rome could not because of their complex system and was just abandoned. So one theory is that Rome went bankrupt and never recovered ending in colapse.
From Greek came Romans and From romans came european kingdoms so roman empire after crusade war became roman - european kingdoms like France , british Germany, portugal, spain, russia poland, austria, hungary etc. It didn't die It split into many countries. Only longest civilization is indus saraswathi civilization Only. Even china stopped in 1948 when communist came to power and BLOODY CULTURAL REVOLUTION took place in china.
It's very fascinating to think that some human did a tiny experiment and that directly led to many things that we take for granted today. When I think about that, I picture a caveman in my head by default. But it's also probable that it was actually a woman who put some tin inside the pot of molten copper. That possibility and how it's not the default option we consider is also fascinating to me.
On the note of the church of vatican city, can also put some light and facts on the holy grail, and what role Christianity really played in forming different society ideas and how the religious thoughts were created into the mindset of humanity. Great work on these episodes tho, amazing facts to know about. ❤
