  • In this video we’re going to take an in-depth look at the Bongo Ball Python. Now at first glance, a Bongo looks a lot like a dark/slightly weird normal. It’s when you add it into combination morphs that this gene springs to life!

For Exo Terra Reptile Caves : amzn.to/3L2GrUr
    For plastic hides : amzn.to/43VZcRX
    Coco chips: amzn.to/47wk3ff
    Digital thermometer: amzn.to/48yvggk
Depending on what you breed it to, Bongo has some really unusual effects on both colour and pattern. It isn’t an enhancer gene or a darkening gene either - in fact, it’s pretty much an all-rounder.
In this video we’ll take a look at:
    • What kind of gene Bongo is
    • The effects of Bongo: rich colour with Pastel, striping with Cinnamon, and something special with Clown
    • How to Identify Bongo and how to use it in projects
    • Examples of some Bongo combination morphs from my projects
    • Examples of some Bongo combination morphs on Morphmarket
    • My thoughts on using Bongo for projects
    Contents of this video:
    00:01 Intro
    00:43 Bongo genetics
02:55 How Bongo interacts with other genes
05:21 Some of my Bongo hatchlings
11:15 Examples from other breeders on Morphmarket
16:09 How to use Bongo in projects
    18:00 Conclusion
From this video, I hope you’ll agree that Bongo is a gene that should be used wisely. It can produce incredible morphs - but only if you know how to use it! As always, please get in touch if there’s anything else you’d like to know…

They do look so pretty, and it's interesting how all the selective breeding works .

Thank you! I'm not sure what I'll do with Bongo next - but I'm going to keep at least one for a future project 🙂

    Lemon blast X Bongo Pastel
Killer bongo blast so far ws the nicest one that emerged pattern less with distinct stripe down the entirety of its body

That sounds awesome! I definitely feel like we've only seen the tip of the iceberg with Bongo 🧐

I work bongo and have a similar outlook as you. It doesn't always enhance colour but also doesn't always darken it. It's pretty neat.

Hey thank you for watching! I'm going to hold back the stripey one and see what it does for me in a few years...

Bongo is a wildcard when introduced into projects
