Nahhhh. Not trolling. How many troupes really run stories set during the Roman invasion of Pictish Scotland? At the very best, a Storyteller might need a bit of lore about what the Howlers were like before their fall, and players /might/ need to know what gifts a modern born throwback might have access to.
I love the idea of a pictish tribe being of scotish decent myself. I mean to get the Roman empire to turn back was not something many less advanced cultures achieved and there would not have been a Scotland without it. Hadreins wall marks the edge of Roman conquest in the isles and the lore of the Howlers is quite is quite compelling as it is tragic. I know the Fianna encompasses the isles but I feel it is Irish centric and a more Scottish flavor would have been realised by the howlers. And of course now they are essentially the gaoru nations most fearsome nemesis. A promising wwta computer game that never saw the light of day was based around the idea of a white howler cub and had an interesting story ark of trying to restart the tribe but also had the bsd's going bat shit to stop him from breathing. Would love to play a White Howler campaign.
Here’s something I’m currently wondering about the garou do their gifts involving their claws effect the ones on their feet as well , like would silver claws work on their hands and feet claws ?
After seeing and hearing a lot of Werewolf the apocalypse I wanna see a good video game about it. Maybe have a Far cry game set in the WoD and you can gain abilities from each of the tribes like for example the bone gnawers are scavengers so maybe they could make the DIY weapons we used in Far cry 6 and the Supremo backpacks since they're good at making everything usable. And the Red talons could focus on head on combat, using your rage to give you a huge advantage against enemies and maybe combining it with your human form to do brutal machete takedowns on heavy units and against black spiral dancers. I've got tons of ideas for a video game adaptation for Werewolf the apocalypse instead of the Earthblood version.
Has this newest edition brought in the Mummies? I still love the idea of Mummies as cosmological entries in the WoD, but have admittedly never included them in my games or encountered one in someone else's. I didn't get the impression they were very popular. But for some tribes, Silent Striders, Children of Gaia and the Shadow Lords in particular, seem like they'd have reasons to entreat with Mummies moreso than most. Although not based on WoD, the recent Netflix series Arcane, based on League of Legends, portrays some great rename chargers if someone wanted to figure out how to model a Black Fury. Vi in particular is just spot on, except for not being a Garou.
@@TheMapleTable right there with you dude, I know ZERO about the game but that cartoon I just can't get enough of. From top to bottom, a superb series.
I don't know though apparently they have removed the Imbued from Hunter The Reckoning and made it similar to Vigil which doesn't make much sense. So if they do bring back Mummies, it might be the Black book kind and not Resurrection Mummies.
You're telling me that the children's of Gaia are peacekeepers to humanity and politics sometimes Gaia i can't bear witness to see the suffering of humanity

Came here cause I wanna see what tribe cahal from WTAE was from. Got a reintroduction of the red talons and to my surprise, their wolf forms or “lupus” form were much bigger than cahal’s.
It kind of looks like your section on the Shadow Lords is a bit longer than the rest. And even as a Bone Gnawer fan since I created my first Garou character, I have to admit that the Shadow Lords, as the "Starscreams" of the Garou Nation, have their own charm. The Kindred Clan they've most often fought with _and_ allied with are the Tzimisce, who share the homelands of and around Romania and who have a "Me against my brother..." relationship with each other. (Spoily-Spoilage) Also, if you have a copy of 'Apocalypse' from the Time of Judgement, it's worth knowing that the Shadow Lords are the only Tribe who get to keep their name in the 'A Tribe Falls' scenario. The Black Furies surrender to the Wyrm and become the Widows, the Bone Gnawers surrender to the Wyrm and become the Plague Rats, the Children of Gaia surrender to the Wyrm and become the Reavers, et cetera. But not only do the Shadow Lords surrender to the Wyrm yet _remain_ the Shadow Lords, they also begin converting the Black Spiral Dancers into more Shadow Lords. So in the end, the BSD's cease to exist as a Tribe because they have all become Shadow Lords, and the Shadow Lords have somehow become something even worse. It says a lot about the scary potential that the Shadow Lords we know and love may possess, doesn't it? 🥺
@@TheMapleTable I've only rolled up one Shadow Lord, but she's a Homid Ragabash and a small-time but talented actress who got tired of all the Gangrels pretending to be Garou or trying to run with them, so after studying the Kindred for a while, she went rogue, started pretending to be Kindred and now hangs out at the fringes of their Elysia, spying on them and pretending to be one of them, just because of tit-for-tat. 😏 She has enough Politics knowledge to hang with the Kindred, but one wise-acre using Auspex would be enough to blow her cover, so it's all the better that she hangs at the fringes of Camarilla society so she doesn't draw _too_ much attention. So she's not much of a Starscream and certainly doesn't want to be _leading_ any vampires or werewolves, but she's still a bit of a mold-breaker (like Ragabashes tend to be). Maybe I'll actually get to play her in someone's pan-WoD campaign one day. 😎

The Red Talons should be genocided, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Techncorat. The Progenitors are considering an alliance with the Glass Walkers, afterall.
Lol that's pretty much what everyone in my group thought about the red talons, nobody wanted to play them because they're so full of piss and vinegar. Every other tribe has appeal in some way, shape or form, hell I've seen some players who'd rather play a black spiral dancer than a red talon. Red talons are not good boys.
That's the one thing I don't like about werewolf the apocalypse is the hippie tree hugging stuff I mean I get taken care of the environment but they go overboard sometimes.
Why did you skip over two tribes, the Bunyip and Croatan. Also why talk about the Stargazers when they left the garou nation for the beast courts of the east. Oh and there are "No" white howlers. The tribe is known as Black Spiral Dancers now.
Shadowlords are the shit, they're the Malcolm X of the Garou tribes. White Howlers no longer exist, except in extremely rare cases where a cub is born with white fur, but the "Tribe" not clan, fell in defeat to the Wyrm, thus becoming what we know as The Black Spiral Dancers. Werewolf the Apocalypse 2nd Edition for live action play would have been a good start on finding source material. It just sucks that the game system favors the Vampires over the Garou.
@@TheMapleTable The Shadowlords? I remember their description being akin to pitbulls. I had a good character: Tribe - Shadowlord, Auspice - Philodox that was born Metis. The Vampires hated me because I used my experience to buy influence within the city (I was a like a crime boss my packmates were a Bone-Gnawer and a Glass-Walker Theurge that never lost a challenge and was armed with a Klaive), the GM made a Hydra to kill me off, because he felt threatened by my character.
Bitches don't be dead. I'm pretty sure it's canon that a small portion of the tribe were held in a kind of stasis in the Umbra only to escape in the current setting. There's definitely official rules for them. Also, the Black Spiral Dancers are alive and kicking. They're the corrupted White Howlers.
The White Howler tribe is dead. Their totem, was abandoned by them and fled. If it wasn't for Griffin the Lion totem as a whole would be lost. The White Howlers traditrions, legacy, everything about them that made them a tribe has been corrupted or lost. If any of them survived in a sort of stasis they would be looked at as a throwback or a subsect (not unlike the Siberakh). Also, these faux Howlers would be actively hunted by Gaian Garou fearing their corruption and Wyrm tainted Garou alike. Needless to say Howlers wouldnt last long in the World of Darkness.
@@TheForsakenCouch you're almost exactly describing what I thought they were. Throwbacks, hunted, maybe used as a one-off in a story kinda thing. Similar to the Baali in a way, and they definitely exist in the setting. I'm fairly certain it wasn't W20 I read about them in, because I think I referenced the entry when I was discussing possible things to come out of V20 (Cappadocians and that kind of thing). Maybe revised, maybe player's guide. They had a page dedicated to them as if they were just another tribe, but described as basically a memory... with full rules to play them. I never read the tribe book, that definitely exists out there, but there's several eras/settings they could be used in... I don't know if they're more viable in Dark Ages for example. 🤷
Nah, they are dead as fuck... That's why there are several ways Garou are trying to bring them back... Black spiral cubs for example are usually abducted by some Gaians and put in re-education camps and schools, to try make them learn of their ancestry and why they should fight for Gaia Some Silver Fangs and Fianna have tried to trace back the kinfolk of the Howlers for the Glasswalkers to experiment with them, trying to produce a Howler And the most promising bet of them all... Erebus... There's actually a single Dancer (confirmed descendant of howlers btw) in the depths of the silver rivers of Erebus, with a literal army of healers taking turns to try and repair the twisted soul and mind of the Dancer... Of all methods to bring the Howlers back, this one is the only one that has had results... Not BIG results, no mayor milestone has been achieved to the date, but results nonetheless... Healing is actually being done reeeeeeeeealy slowly
@@NMC213 what you are missing though is that a tribe is more than genetics. Without Lion, the Howlers do not have a totem.
I think the Glasswalker are my favorite of the bunch, since they remind of Assasin Creed! Also i like the art, it's sooo cool! ❤
Here’s something I’m currently wondering about the garou do their gifts involving their claws effect the ones on their feet as well , like would silver claws work on their hands and feet claws ?
I would rule yes, since it doesn't make a distinction between front and back. Just claws.
@@TheMapleTable did you hear
Anything on 5e adding the ability glima for the fenrir ? it’s basically their version of kalindo
I really liked the arcane series. Im not a lol player but the show was so good!

Im not just going to leave it like that lol
This is a meer comment for the algorithm. All hail the algorithm.

Im a happy guy
He's happy because he's just two days away from a big revel and, being a fianna, he definitely knows how to party. XD
3:21 of course Fiana tribe might also tell stories about world war 1, world war 2, the cold war, and how we humans managed to go to space
The Black Fury Tribe is the Garou version of the Amazons.
Hiw are you gonna do us dirty with the white howler tease 😆 Are you ever going to actually cover them?
Yes im actually going to be covering them :p
Surprised RUclips let you keep that image of the wendigo enjoying a southern breeze
I will be honest... I somehow completely missed that :p
😂
White Howlers:
"Bitches B Dead ..."
I was proud of that line
Well, more accurately they've fallen down a fate worse than dead.
Spiraled down.
I think it's be a Glass Walker
So much art from Taran Fiddler in this video, I'm jealous of these big artists
Black furies bleed monthly but make others bleed daily
You're telling me that the children's of Gaia are peacekeepers to humanity and politics sometimes Gaia i can't bear witness to see the suffering of humanity
Taran Fiddler would probably appreciate a credit in the description for using their art in your thumbnail.
Sending a First Team your way, right now. Hope you're ready!
Onyx Path does have an official White Holwer Tribebook that shows them during their Zenith just before they tried to close a Great Pit that appeared in their land.
If you read that you might actually be able to give a look at their history before "B!tc#$ be dead"
That part was just a joke, I have a on going series about the white howlers
@@TheMapleTable okay
@@TheMapleTable Somewhat more eloquently, sorry for getting on to you about that. Used to people not knowing about some of the older hidden lore bits that they sprinkled in or the Onyx Path Tribebook. 🙂
@@TheMapleTable For S&G's going to see how many I remember from various canon and semi-canon materials:
Angus The White Howler [Rage Card] Seems to know Wendigo Gifts so might be adopted by them.
Gabriel White: [Fiction Book-line] Last seen heading to Erebus
Calley "Shadow Eyes" [Fiction Book Line] Metis adopted by the Children of Gaia
Tarith [Rage Across Appalachia] Pretending to be a Shadowlord
Cororoc [Umbra the Velvet Shadow] Not alive but not gone, a Wraith who has put together a pack of former BSD's now Wraith White Howlers.
Unnamed Garou [Rage Across Australia p.135] POSSIBLE Endgame of the Rainbow Serpent cleanses a few BSD to WH, also possible blood causing some Bunyip Ghosts to be reborn.
Ryan [Werewolf the Apocalypse; Heart of Gaia] Aborted PC game.
That's all I can remember offhand...other than one of the final books of the original run that I can't remember [Thought I bought but lost] where there is some astral time travel shenanigans where you meet one but he goes off to his tribe when they go to the pit.
What about the Bunyip and the Croatan? Will you redo them too?
While not exactly high on my list for redoing, ill look at them and see how I feel about it.
@@TheMapleTable So your main concern on the update of WTA is the Werewolf Tribes? What about your other WTA videos?
@@jcmv-2005 the tribe videos were my first batch of content and I can do them way better now. Once I get those done I will look at redoing other videos
@@TheMapleTable including the FERA and the other WTA videos… Right?
The Bunyip were driven to extinction for a while, but the Progenitors brought them back through genetic experiments. Unfortunately, the Bunyip have no connection to the spirit world anymore, because the Progenitors thought they'd be too difficult to control if they did.
Came here cause I wanna see what tribe cahal from WTAE was from. Got a reintroduction of the red talons and to my surprise, their wolf forms or “lupus” form were much bigger than cahal’s.
If I'm not mistaken, he's supposed to be a Fianna?

Bone Gnawers or Ghost Council for life!

The most famous one for sure lol
You did the white howlers dirty. 🤣
I was waiting for someone to acknowledge how funny I am lol.
@@TheMapleTable The Howlers did it to themselves, friend. XD
Just got the PDF of W5... They neutered Werewolf.
I'm not finished goin through it
Where have I seen this host before
It kind of looks like your section on the Shadow Lords is a bit longer than the rest.
(Spoily-Spoilage)
Also, if you have a copy of 'Apocalypse' from the Time of Judgement, it's worth knowing that the Shadow Lords are the only Tribe who get to keep their name in the 'A Tribe Falls' scenario.
I really like that starscream comparison very funny and sadly correct :p
@@TheMapleTable I've only rolled up one Shadow Lord, but she's a Homid Ragabash and a small-time but talented actress who got tired of all the Gangrels pretending to be Garou or trying to run with them, so after studying the Kindred for a while, she went rogue, started pretending to be Kindred and now hangs out at the fringes of their Elysia, spying on them and pretending to be one of them, just because of tit-for-tat. 😏
She has enough Politics knowledge to hang with the Kindred, but one wise-acre using Auspex would be enough to blow her cover, so it's all the better that she hangs at the fringes of Camarilla society so she doesn't draw _too_ much attention.
So she's not much of a Starscream and certainly doesn't want to be _leading_ any vampires or werewolves, but she's still a bit of a mold-breaker (like Ragabashes tend to be). Maybe I'll actually get to play her in someone's pan-WoD campaign one day. 😎
I get why vampires hate them. To a lesser extent Mages. But why Changelings?
because werewolves just kill everything they dont like ... including other werewolves.
Wishing we had Werewolf apocalypse 2 game with oFF Line Multiplayer local co-op 2 3 and 4 players to join in and Costumize our own We'rewolves Mal and Female tribes.
I would want to recreate Rodko from werewolf apocalypse Earth blood game
I want couch co-op Multiplayer local oFF line co-op and play with friends in main campaign mode
Pentex the new wyrom threatened Endron government is rising for taking over Dr Richard Watkins research for a new earth blood projects outbreak.
Hope it happens in future for all old current ps4 and Xbox one console too
PS 5 and Xbox series consoles as well
The Red Talons should be genocided, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Techncorat.
7:32 any war you say...... -.-.-.-.-.-.
Life just say the sliver fangs were been seen during the cold wars
That's the one thing I don't like about werewolf the apocalypse is the hippie tree hugging stuff I mean I get taken care of the environment but they go overboard sometimes.
The only reason why they exist is because of the Impergium. They thought there can be a more peaceful solution then just "kill them all".
Do you ever think you'll do some videos on Hunter lore?
Im looking into what I can do since I believe hunters will he released before werewolf 5e.
Get ‘a life’ of Fenris, am I right?
Zinger!
Why did you skip over two tribes, the Bunyip and Croatan.
Also why talk about the Stargazers when they left the garou nation for the beast courts of the east. Oh and there are "No" white howlers. The tribe is known as Black Spiral Dancers now.
Has anyone ever played werewolf the apocalypse ccg
I have not played the TCG yet, i haven't talked to anyone who even had them before
I have probably 5 to 7 thousand cards. Even the entire silver pack. I just wanna share the wealth
God...
When will 5e be Released...
Hope it doesn't turn into an SJW mouthpiece like VTM 5e...
I have hope but we will see.
Likewise. I'm really worried that certain types are going to be drawn to say, Black Furies for the wrong reasons.
Message from the future: They fucked it up and watered it down.
Im getting serious uncle jack vibes😆😆
Shadowlords are the shit, they're the Malcolm X of the Garou tribes.
White Howlers no longer exist, except in extremely rare cases where a cub is born with white fur, but the "Tribe" not clan, fell in defeat to the Wyrm, thus becoming what we know as The Black Spiral Dancers.
Werewolf the Apocalypse 2nd Edition for live action play would have been a good start on finding source material.
It just sucks that the game system favors the Vampires over the Garou.
They are pretty awesome.
Get of Fenris for life!
So am I! They're one of my favorite tribes of the Garou Nation.
I understand the appeal, but Fiana are best tribe :P
@@TheMapleTable So...meat head jocks vs band kids?
Bitches don't be dead.
I'm pretty sure it's canon that a small portion of the tribe were held in a kind of stasis in the Umbra only to escape in the current setting. There's definitely official rules for them.
Also, the Black Spiral Dancers are alive and kicking. They're the corrupted White Howlers.
Its not exactly cannon they are alive. The w20 book does this exact example of how to house rule them to being alive
Black spiral cubs for example are usually abducted by some Gaians and put in re-education camps and schools, to try make them learn of their ancestry and why they should fight for Gaia
Some Silver Fangs and Fianna have tried to trace back the kinfolk of the Howlers for the Glasswalkers to experiment with them, trying to produce a Howler
And the most promising bet of them all...
Without the totem there is no tribe, no gifts, rites or tradition. just because you carry similar blood doesnt mean the tribe exists. you are functionally a Ronin at that point.
"Southern america"... Do you mean south america or the south of the united states?
I likely mean South America and not the southern US
I have do many cards and no one to play with
Ahah Taran Fiddler being used in a WTA video
