    That fitting should not be a plain tee fitting. The OE fitting has a restrictor in it. GM P/N is 1648454. Using a plain tee can result in poor heat

    I’ve got a ‘92 Eldorado with the 4.9 and have the exact same problem! Thanks for the video

    Strong use of smoke test right there. Going to put that in the rotation as needed.

    When cars have sat its gonna be a treat getting them back to driving shape. Especially with cooling systems. You patch up one spot then it finds the next weakest link.

      I know general area, but I don’t think we ever identified exactly where it was coming from, with the camera. I seem to recall some green on an oily blob.

    You can always by pass the heater core if you don’t need the heater.

      You can but I don't usually fix cars that way.

  • @someone7773

    I have the exact same car same color same year. What exactly was the fix? I have smoke coming out behind the engine and it leaked out orange brownish liquid under the car. I’m guessing it’s the heating hose, didn’t know there was more to it

    Hey Rob what kind of scantool do you use on your mobile diagnostics? I'm looking into getting a new one, something with decent bidirectional controls. Can you recommend one that won't break the bank?

    • @RobertDotterer
      @RobertDotterer  3 года назад

      ThinkDiag or any of the launches will be the cheapest. One tool will not do everything.

      @alanw5879 3 года назад +1

      @@RobertDotterer yes I understand that, do you use the thinkdiag the most? I have other scantools but I'm doing mobile diagnostics and need to have a few options.

      I use the thinkdiag a lot, $300 you get all the manufactures and 2 years of updates.

    8:37 It never gets old seeing someone go through the same bullshit I do to myself. Once was testing a VW Tiguan that another shop had put an engine into. It wouldnt run because they had left 2 or 3 vaccum hoses off and a couple things weren't plugged in. Also it ws leaking coolant. I put pressure tester on it pumped it up to 15lbs and I raised car on lift. Must have bumped the radiator hose and it blew right off soaking me with coolant. The didint seat that quick connector either. Anyway I seen your In PA. I have a shop In Oil CIty Its NWPA between Erie and Pittsburgh

      I was just in Pittsburgh for almost a week a few months ago. I had a Tiguan in for a motor and I went through 3 motors with it.

      I am not sure, you can go to a GM parts website and look at the diagrams for your vehicles and it will give you the part numbers.
