Finally got around to lowering my e70 BMW X5 on H&R lowering springs. If you plan on tackling this yourself like I did there wasn’t many videos out there that should you how to do this. Hopefully this helps lots of you out there considering doing the same thing. Below I’ll link out the tools that definitely helped with this process. 2012 e70, currently doing timing chain and aluminum valve cover, NGK sparks, so happy to get her on the road, next is lowering springs.. clean bim JJ!!

I definitely recommend it. Totally transformed the look. Just need to add some more body bits to make it look more aggressive

I did H&R on my e70... looked cool but drove like crap... totally killed the ride. Just done my f15 with the eibach pro kit 1" drop. 15mm rear.
I recently got new Bilstien shocks n struts. My tech cut the bump stops so the struts have more travel to make a smoother ride.
Gotta give it a rake or a lot of ppl say it run harsh
Nice video. My rear sit like that as standard. I have no leaks. I had it re calibrated but the car was fully loaded and on a hill. Do you think that could have been the issue why it’s sitting low? I need to put lowering springs on the front to even it out as I don’t mind the rear being low..
As of 6/11/24, these same H&R lowering kits are on eBay for $316, instead of $458 like Amazon.

Do you have to jack up the rear to install the rear lowering links ?
Can you go any lower?
Front I thought is 74 and rear is 72
only on X5/6M
