Portable Console "SEGA GAME GEAR" 1990.
Great reaction!
Please react to Ong Bak trilogy films! Unless you seem them?
One of the best Thai martial arts film.
Tony Jaa was a huge fan of Bruce Lee!,Jackie Chan and Jet lee.
He does his own stunts first Ong Bak is masterpiece
"That had to hurt" when Jackie jumped across the alley to the balcony. Little does he know that Jackie did it with a broken foot. (Broken in the stunt where he jumps onto the hovercraft. You can see his foot buckle when he hits the deck of the hovercraft. )
He also did the water-skiing scene with the broken foot too.
the sneaker painted sock over the cast
It did hurt
@Don Karnage from what I heard Jackie didn't do the building jump,it was his stuntmen
@peter blood from what I heard Jackie didn't do the alley jump.from stuntman said it wasn't jackie
Yes!! One of my fave Jackie Chan movies!!!
I agree same here I love this movie
Imagine being exclusively an action star, meaning that you only make action movies every single year for several decades during your prime, who's known for doing death-defying stunts and have to constantly come up w/ new ways to risk your life for nearly an entire career in Hong Kong where all insurance companies have banned you. Hence, Jackie holds the Guinness World Record for most stunts performed by a living actor. It's a miracle that he's still alive.
May never get another Jackie again
@@CapedInformer Jackie is a lunatic. Watch his stunt from the original police story, he probably thought he was going to die.
And by lunatic I mean that in the most complementary way possible. Jackie rocks.
@Caped Informer why no reactions to outtakes
contrary to popular belief he never actually did ALL of his own stunts, if you watch enough of his movies you can see his stunt double in his older movies back insurance companies would have paid for him to do them all. and im talking about simple stunts like flipping over an arcade system
One thing to remember: The end credits in Jackie Chan movies happen to be the outtakes--in other words, if you wanna see Jackie Chan screw up on lines, mess up on stunts or occasionally hit the wrong guy, watch the end credits.
Best thing about Jackie is he hilarious on top of being an action star! 🤣😂🤣
The store owner, played by Anita Mui, she was Jackies best friend and whenever they're together in a movie they have an amazing chemistry, sadly not much with this film as it focuses on him alone. They did well in Drunken Master 2 and Mr.Canton and Lady Rose.
Rest In Peace to Anita
@@adu1991 are you sure? I dont remember her being in Operation Condor
Anita use to date Jackie
@@TheStoryhasbeensold actually they were only good friends, he was married and people thought they were in a romantic relationship
@@ahmedbenkhalfallah6502 we can agree to disagree Jackie was married but had many girlfriends..
I still remember when this came out and saw it in the theaters. It was Jackie's first US movie since The Big Brawl. Shit was so hype.
Cannonball Run I&II (1981, 1984)
The Protector (1985)
Also, Operation Condor, Legend of Drunken Master, and Supercop were made before Rumble but got their US theatrical releases later.
@@chrisleebowers possibly but I know for sure this was the 1st movie of his I saw at the theaters. All those others weren't made in the US and I dont count Cannonball movies because he isnt the star of them
@@k3n12ock Oh, sorry, I didn't know we were using your personal arbitrary rules for what counts and doesn't count. 🙄
@@k3n12ock The Protector wasn't made in the US? Rumble in the Bronx was made in Canada.
@@jscan4442 lol chill dude it’s not that big a deal
Anita Mui, RIP, is one of Jackie's best co-stars and an absolute gem of a comedic actor. For more of them interacting Legend of Drunken Master/Drunken Master 2 is essential watching - also the pinnacle of Jackie's fight work; one of the greatest martial arts movies and a contender for THE best ever made.
Yeah, Anita Mui was such a great actress. She is missed.
She was also a musician.
Before Marvel came along Jackie Chan outtakes were the best reason to sit through the credits. This is his most accessible "American" movie, but not his best. Still good. But his best stuff came from Hong Kong. OR you could watch his American debut - The Cannonball Run 1981 (no shit).
Jackie's outtakes a.k.a. Jackie breaking bones. A real trooper
@Tony Lasagna weird he didn't include them
Jackie Chan's 'best movies' are his 'non-American movies', including:
Police Story 1, 2 & 3,
Armour of God 1 & 2
Project A 1 & 2,
Dragons Forever,
Drunken Master,
Crime Story,
My Lucky Stars,
Miracles,
City Hunter, etc.

The pool hall fight scene was so iconic that the outfit Jackie wore during it became an unlockable reward in the open-world kung-fu action video game Sleeping Dogs, published by Square Enix. Any martial arts movie buff owes it to himself to play that game at least once!
Love Rumble In The Bronx! One of my first Jackie movies. Definitely check out Who Am I? and Operation Condor. Also excellent is the Police Story series (1, 2, Supercop, First Strike).
Young master as well.. His masterpiece
Police story is actually SEVEN movies now, but the first four are really the only worthwhile ones.
Who Am I? Some the best stunts I've seen.
Someone finally did it, reacted to this movie! I got the VHS for Christmas at 5-years-old and still have it to this day; watched the hell out of it. And as someone who's lived in NYC my whole life, I love that in the scene in the car garage you can see Mt. Fuji in the background. There are no snow covered mountains in or around The Bronx by more than a few miles to say the least, haha.
Yea I read they filmed it in Vancouver
There's plenty ppl who reacted to this u just gotta search don't wait for RUclips to recommend it. Most likely the reactors are ppl u don't watch or even know about
Btw my comment was meant in a negative way in case it comes off that way. Oh I kinda figure it wasn't really filmed in the Bronx because of the dubbing.
That makes sense. The North Shore mountains. Don't mind me, I'm an idiot.
@@whocares8584 - Who cares?
I remember this movie when me and my brother went to the theaters and that's the time we notice Jackie Chan.
Nostalgia Never Dies
When this movie was released in the US in the spring of 1996, I was hyping this movie up to all my friends who didn't know who Jackie Chan was. We went on opening night (friday) to an urban theater. It was literally like watching a live event, like a concert or something. The amount of audience participation/reaction was absolutely off the charts. Ended up going back again, the next day and the day after that just to get the experience again.
I remember my uncle showing this to me on vhs in probably 97/98. He gave me a copy of it Mr nice guy and first strike
May I ask how old y'all are
@@jancril7505 I'm 31
This film was released in the US not in spring but around January 1996 that's why everyone knows Jackie Chan and started to love him. But in 1995 I remember him watching the lifetime achievement awards at the MTV movie awards. I remember he encourage people when they see rumble in the bronx they will know him better. He was everywhere in the mid 1990s before he started doing rush hour.
"Fight one-on-one"
The man clearly has not seen many Jackie Chan movies
@jonesey251 nope Jackie always multiple enemies
22:10
"He can't make this jump."
Hah. He made that jump, broke a bone in his foot, and then, filmed the jump scene between buildings.
A broken bone to Jackie is just a challenge. He''s gonna do it anyway.
Supercop is another good one. Jackie Chan can think and react so fast he might put Goku's Ultra Instinct to shame.
Jet Li "Fist of Legend", best ever!
Facts 🤘🤘
Yes that & Legend of Drunken Master are awesome definitely must watch & imo each of their best films
Lol, no. Fist of Legend is fun, but it's just a Fist Of Fury remake. Best ever? Look at stuff like, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, Drunken Master, Five Deadly Venoms, Ninja in the Dragon's Den, Knockabout, The Victim
I see your Fist of Legend and raise you Once Upon A Time in China II (Jet Li vs Yasuaki Kurata and Billy Chow is pretty cool, but not as cool as Jet vs Donnie Yen and Xin Xin Xiong)
In the line duty 4 is non stop action.
The final 20 minutes with the hovercraft is by far the most hilarious scene I’ve ever seen in any movie.
The was the first Jackie Chan movie that I ever saw and my mind was blown by him. I felt like I had been lied to by all the other martial arts movies that I had grown up watching. After I saw this movie I never saw those others the same way again. While I still enjoy the martial arts movies I had seen before, they weren't Rumble in The Bronx. A new standard had been set for me.
Saw this twice as a kid in the theaters. I had no idea about the dubbing then and thought something was wrong with the audio and was super pissed the theater didn't fix it. :)
Rumble in the Bronx react o.0 Now, THAT is something you don't see every day ... and DAMN am I happy you did it!!!
This is one of the most under appreciated movies in Hollywood in terms of REAL stunts performed by the actual actor
This was the 1st Jackie Chan movie that they made a big deal about here in the US(and opened in theaters nationwide). At the time, we had "Mann Theaters" here in San Diego. I went to see this opening night. I was so blown away by the movie that I actually paid & stayed for the very next showing. I remember going back the next weekend to see it again also.
We NYers laugh at this depiction of the Bronx. Other than the establishing shots, it's largely not even shot in the US. I mean, mountains and a hovercraft in the city... We cracked up when we saw it back in the day.
Yeah I'm from L.A but I did the same
It was filmed in Vancouver, Canada. Somehow, I don't think "Rumble in Vancouver" has the same drawing power!
Jackie is already pretty good, if you fight him in Ikea he's invincible.
- First I just wanted to say as a die-hard chan fan, the type of nerdy fan that has watched all of his work over the years countless times (They bring me great joy :) -) I appreciate your reaction! I ended up purchasing an original press kit for Rumble in the Bronx off an auction - it has the script, an entire press booklet of nearly 100 pages going over the entire life and career of chan; 12 large black and white promo photos; and more importantly, COLOR FILM SLIDES. It's part of my "Behind Glass" collection.
Secondly... let's talk Chan!
DRAGONS FOREVER is tied as my top Chan film, it was the final movie that starred all three dragons; Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Biao; They all had the same Master and grew up since children together training, performing and at the age of 17 they left to enter stunt-work for the then-emerging film scene out of Hong Kong and Taiwan. This is when Jackie Chan would become a favorite pick by Bruce Lee to stand in for numerous situations and make the scene look perfect; he also ended up having a small "Goon" moment in the factory fight during Enter The Dragon while "Big Brother / Big Dragon" Sammo Hung had a more prominent role in the film as one of the fighting contestants.
The films this trio made are all legendary, although the 1988 finale of working as a trio maybe some of the absolute most insane sequences ever filmed; because these three knew each other since being 6 years old; You have the Strongest and most forceful martial artist with Sammo Hung, The fastest and most agile/acrobatic with Yuen Biao and then the Perfect combination of all these traits with Jackie
I'll swing by your Patreon just to suggest it once you get through Police Story 1-3 and I'd like to toss Project A, Wheels on Meals (both are also trio films for the Three Dragons - Wheels on Meals features the legendary GOAT Kick Boxer Benny the Jet Urqidez fight with Jackie Chan, and Dragons Forever has a rematch fight!) - and... in my opinion, the superior Sequel PROJECT A2 which did not feature all Three Dragon's but was Directed by Jackie Chan, and is an under-rated classic. Usually, people talk about Project A... but Project A2 is most likely the more complete, sensible film with some of Chan's best work on display.
The mid to late 80's is when the Jackie Chan Stunt-Team had it's most talented; a healthy group of regulars that all began to master the timing of working with Jackie leading us with those perfected fight scenes and stunt falls / hits that the regular JCE team would take.
I'll be around to see how you end up with future reactions, and I'll hit you up with an e-mail with this same basic message and some contact info.
Rest in Peace, Anita Mui (The store owner), passed at the age of 40 in '03.
It's really cool that the guy who apologized in Chinese is always in his early movies and is part of the stunt team
The lady, Elaine, Anita Mui also played in Legend of Drunken Master. She is amazing and hilarious in that also. [Just to add. She passed away in 2003.]
Jackie Chan(Chan Kong Sang/Sing Lung) lived in a Peking Opera school run by Master Yu Jim Yuen. He was one of the Seven Little Fortunes in Hong Kong. Chan worked as a stuntman on Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury(1972). The Big Brawl(1980) was Chan's first English language movie. He had a cameo in The Cannonball Run II(1984). The Asian version of Rumble in the Bronx is 25 minutes longer.
The best part about these old Jackie Chan movies is the blooper/stunt reel during the credits.
Jackie Chan train with his personal stunt team all the time. Back in the 80s and 90s he had many close calls. When shooting armor of god, he did a stunt and fell and nearly died after cracking his skull open. Was in the hospital for months so you can see his hair is longer then shorter in the movie. And yeah that dude really jumped from roof to fire escape in 1 take. And completed the movie with a broken foot. The man is a living legend.
Other than cannonball run, this was my first real exposure to Jackie Chan. Been a fan ever since! And what’s scary is, as good as this film is, this isn’t his best!
I worked in a movie theatre in high school and this was one of the movies we used to just disappear into for an hour or so.
Thank you Caped Informer! I've been watching your reactions for a while I can't wait for more Jackie Chan.
Unlike Hollywood movies with Jackie, in classic Jackie Chan movies he fully writes and directs the movies himself. He designs all the stunts and fight scenes and stars in them and he even sometimes sing some of the soundtrack because he's a freaking popstar too. Classic Jackie Chan movies are completely different than his later Hollywood stuff.
Also it's worth pointing out that Supercop is technically Police Story 3 and Jackie Chan's First strike is Police Story 4, they just changed the names when released in america.
He was a one-of-a-kind super genius who had enormous discipline in the physical arts.
🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨
this was my first Jackie Chan movie. the American hype was unreal and i was like who the hell is this guy? and he does his own stunts? lemme check this out. I've been a Jackie Chan fan ever since. But Jackie's dirty little secret is he does use a stuntman. For driving scenes, jackie can't drive.
Anybody can drive. In Police Story, when they plowed through the hillside shanty town, we see the last bit w/ Jackie crashing towards the wall and getting out of the car. But he does like to incorporate car tricks, hence that's often where the specialists would come in.
Anita Mui was actually a famous Hong Kong singer. Check her out in the 'Heroic Trio' with Maggie Cheung and Michelle Yeoh. And she is really hilarious in 'The Legend of Drunker Master'
Fun fact when Jackie was on the hover craft that whole scene I think he had a broken foot from jumping onto it so u can notice very briefly his foot looks big and his shoe is a sock because they had to get it over the cask Lmaooo he said “I jumped heard a snap and new that Wasn’t good” was how he described it
The fighting was so clean..I love this flick
i was born and grew up in Vancouver. It is so cool seeing the old Woodwards parkade and seeing the city as I remember it from growing up.
Saw this when it came out in one of those crappy little chopped up old school mall theaters...
It was amazing! Of course my friend and I sat thru the credits. First time I ever did that.
It’s great how the Bronx is Vancouver. Not too many mountains in the background in NYC.
This is my 2nd favorite Jackie Chan movie. My 1st is The Legend of Drunken Master. And Anita Mui gives an unforgettable performance at the Step-Mom. The action set pieces are the most incredible I've ever seen.
Legend of Drunken Master is the same as Drunken Master 2, except it's dubbed ... and the translation is funnier in the dubbed Legend version.
You laugh so much it begins to hurt. Jackie Chan is a legend.
The best Jackie Chan movie for me has got to be Drunken Master 2. Best fighting sequences that I've seen from him are in that film. I don't know how you feel about English subtitles... but I usually prefer original language for HK movies (and Anime). It's definitely worth a watch, whether you do a reaction video or not.
You have to watch drunken master 2 with original dialogue.. The dub version is terrible, they changed the music and everything.. It's lame
@@mitchclement3773 Agreed, NEVER WATCH THE DUB and always find the longest international versions available
My Fav Jackie Chan flick is Operation Condor (1991) Has Everything, great fights/stunts, lovely Ladies, great production design and cinematography.
Jackie Chan's 'best movies' are his 'non-American movies' (English dubbed versions available), including:
Police Story 1, 2 & 3,
Armour of God 1 & 2
Project A 1 & 2,
Dragons Forever,
Drunken Master,
Crime Story,
My Lucky Stars,
Miracles,
City Hunter, etc.
One my favourites of all time on late one night on TV when was like 11 blew my mind !! Subscribed
Also, idk what version you saw, but the vhs that I had back in the day, shows when Jackie jumped onto the hover craft from that high platform he actually broke his ankle. You can see his right anke fold out when he lands.
This was my first Jackie Chan movie. Love this movie.
Fun Fact Rumble in the Bronx is set in New York But it was actually shot in Vancouver
You know what they say ... when seconds count between living and dying, the police are just minutes away! 🤣😂🤣
Another great reaction, man!
Me and my college suitemates went and saw this in the theater. It was SUCH a good time seeing everyone erupt in amazement at what Jackie could do. And every single person stayed through the credit scene bloopers and outtakes.
Rumble was Jackie's first foray into American films.
Jackie Chan fav's worth checking "Who Am I?", "The Tuxedo", "The Big Brawl", and "Operation Condor"
This was my gateway drug into Jackie Chan. I was 7 years old when I watched this and it was just the absolute coolest thing I’d ever watched. My little mind was blown
As well as co-starring with Jackie a ton of times, Anita Mui was one of Hong Kong´s biggest popstars. Six weeks before she passed, she gave a hugely emotional farewell concert. Her final song, which can be found by searching "Anita Mui classic 2003 farewell concert --voice from the soul", is heartbreaking. I´m not a fan of her music, but it must be devastating to sing for thousands of fans knowing you´ll never sing for them again, and to say goodbye that way, so aware that it is a definitive goodbye, and so young, must be crushing.
Whenever you watch a Jackie Chan movie be sure to watch the ending credits... They usually show the bloopers from the film where Jackie hurts himself doing the stunts
"That's how it works." Hahahahaha! That's exactly what I said when I first saw this!
Rumble in the Bronx doing super well at the box office was a huge factor in Rush Hour casting Jackie and Tucker, we were originally gonna get Martin Lawrence and Chris Farley before that.
I love this film. My top 5 Jackie films are: The Rumble in the Bronx, Shinjuku Incident, Drunken Master II, Rush Hour, and The Police Story.
This movie gives me so much nostalgia. Same with "first strike"
I’ve been watching Jackie for as long as I can remember and I wanna say that if you don’t subconsciously call him uncle Jackie you have a problem😂💯
“Who am I?” - also some great fighting in that
That was so gangsta when Jackie Chan told the guy to say sorry in Chinese.
His stunts and fight scenes in this one is so good. He broke his foot upon impact on the balcony, when jumping from the parking garage. Kind of fun when the kid is playing his video game system (a GAME GEAR) but it has no game in its slot.
Drunken Master and Legend of the Drunken Master (Drunken Master 2) are both very, very good Jackie Chan movies. Most people prefer the 2nd to the extent that many don't even know the first exists but they are both well worth watching.
Bro I'm a New Yorker an the things that happened in this movie don't happen in the Bronx. Funny thing this movie was filmed mostly in Vancouver lol. But this is one of my favorite Jackie Chan movies
Not Jackie's first American movie, but the first one that let him show his stuff and be himself. I definitely got hooked after this movie was released. Great reaction too, I don't think I've seen this since the 90s.
Yes, he does in own stunts. Starting his acting in China, they didn't provide stunt people, and the actors had to do their own stunts. He was about 41 when he did this film. One of my favorites from him is "Drunken Master" from 1978
Love this movie...I believe Jackie Chan broke his ankle when he jumped on that hover raft but still did his stunts...the man is just beyond awesome 👍
This was Chan's breakout hit in the US. In my opinion, It's not as quite good as some of his Hong Kong flicks (Police Story 1,2 and 3, Drunken Master 1 and 2, Project A 1&2, Dragon Lord, Wheels on Meals, Dragons Forever, Armor of God 1&2) but it definitely got people's attention, despite the silliness of it all. And it was my proper introduction to him.
When he jumps on the hovercraft you can see him break his right ankle they made his cast look like his other shoe to finish
Jackie Chan movies be like "I want no trouble!"
Beats dudes up to a bloody pulp
Hiz 1st American released movie.
Jackie in his Onsie...
He broke his foot jumping on the Hoovercraft, and they shot that early.
He still had to finish filming
You like Jackie in this one!!!!
Me: you should see him in *SUPERCOP*
First Strike and Operation Condor are also highly enjoyable Jackie Chan movies
I hope you were able to watch the behind the scenes footage at the end of the movie. He hurt his ankle when jumping onto the hovercraft, but bandaged it up and did the water scenes. I watched Jackie's kung fun movies growing up and enjoy his US movies too. Keep up these reaction videos. I enjoy them and many of your videos open up memories I had watching these movies the first time too.
Jackie Chans "Who Am I" !! BEST Jackie movie EVER. And thats from a real fighter....ME!!!
And BROOO, you gotta include the end Credit outtakes, A staple of Jackie Chan movies, where you see ALL of Jackie fails, including where he break his leg jumping on the Hoover craft, AND Finishing the film with a cast on his leg. Hollywood recognized this with the Rush Hour movies, and Chris Tuckers comedy outtakes added to the outtakes in those classics.
This film shows Jackies real life speed and power, a real Martial Artist! Just levels above the Rocky movies fight scenes, and even a level above Bloodsport and Kickboxer.
Ok Movie suggestions. Drive with Marc Dacascos. Who Am I - Jackie Chan, Once Upon in China 1 and 2 - Jet Li, Fist of Legend -Jet Li, Drunken Master - Jackie.
In the stunt where Jackie jumped from the bridge pillar and onto the hovercraft, he actually broke his ankle on the landing. If you rewatch the scene, you can see his right ankle roll, just before he falls backwards. The scene literally cuts off right before his reaction to the pain.
This movie was so much fun 😁 when it first came out I skipped school took some money out of my dad's wallet and went with my sister to watch it 🤣🤣 worth every hit I got when I got home and you didn't watch the outro bloopers
I watch the movie last year and dude, it was awesome! : )
I love this movie for a lot of things. But one thing that gets overlooked it portrayed a very positive interracial marriage when those relationships just weren't as common in cinema and television. More common today of course, but Jackie's Aunt and Uncle are so precious and great. And Jackie such a bad ass in this movie!
Fun fact: This film was shot in Vancouver BC.
Jackie's first movie in America!
You will love
“The Forbidden Kingdom”
Jackie Chan and Jet Li
It went completely under the radar.
I wouldn't say it went under the radar, people gave it negative press when it came out and no one ever brings it up anymore I think because of that.
i remember going to see this in the theater when it came out not knowing who jacki chan was or anything.. the cheesy voice dubbing made me be like "man this is going to be garbage.." and then the crazy fight scenes started and i was blown away.. up until then all i knew of martial-arts movies was like steven segal and van damme. (not to knock those guys per-se.. just that jackie is in a whole other league)
Jackie said these hands are rated E for everyone
The Big Brawl is very underrated movie
You really need to react to "Legend of the Drunken Master" Jackie Chan's best movie. Very funny with drunk fighting.
Of you watch this you gotta watch "Supercop" and "Operation Condor (also known as Armour of God 2)"
I remember behind the scenes jackie broke his foot trying to jump on the hover boat. Broken foot but he did made the jump lol
As a kid growing up in the Midwest in the 80s and 90s, all I knew of action movies was Karate Kid or movies with two guys punching each other in the face until one got knocked out. Then I saw the trailer for this and my mind was blown! This was my proper introduction to Kung Fu movies.
This was my 1st time ever seeing a Jackie Chan movie when this came out...I was totally blown away!....The kid & his damn cushion annoyed the crap out of me...haha!
At the end of all his movies you see all the out-takes and injuries Jackie suffered he's a damn Beast!!!!
Of course hes gonna try to save her!!! Shes fricking gorgeous
"every household item is a weapon" Jackie Chan 101 :D Love this movie, glad you reacted. If you want to check out some other Jackie stuff I highly recommend Drunken Master (1978) and The Legend of Drunken Master (1994), both great but I prefer the latter. He has so many great movies and is such a talent.
I remember watching this movie in theaters in the 90s 😎
Dude, the best part is the bloopers at the end. Damn
There are credit scenes also. You can see him break his foot landing on the hovercraft! :O Go Jackie!!! Loved your reaction
