Back in the 90's Hi Standard was the the only Japanese punk band that I had ever heard or though existed until RUclips now i listen to Dust Box, Four get me a nots, sunsgrind, special thanks, f. I. B, husking bee, and a bunch of others. The Japanese and Brazilian melodic punk market has replaced the American for me because fat wreck chords and epitaph are not longer putting out the good stuff they used to back in the 90's, there was a point in the 90's where you could just walk in and buy the new fat wreck release or epitaph and you were never disappointed. I disappeared frkm the scene from 98'-05' and when I got back into it it was completely different, bands i liked didn't sound the same or as good (lag wagon, nofx, Millencolin, snuff, strung out, Face to face etc) and then there was this new school punk where everyone sounded the same. Fir the most part if i want to hear these bands i have to hear their old stuff only with the exception of good riddances' new album and face to face laugh now laugh later cd's
+1thess523 Brazil has a punk scene that compares to Japan's current one? I'll have to check it out. Love most of the Japanese bands you listed, but a special shout out goes to Sunsgrind. Letter to Betrayer is a masterpiece. You should check out FACT, they broke up recently but put out various different types of punk - post-hardcore, melopunk, with other influences. Not your traditional band but one of my favorites, and we seem to have similar tastes.

Totally agree dude. i am really big fan of Hi-Standard from Finland and they are my favorite punk band. Its a shame that they only sell their merch in Japan
