I love the idea. I played a few very small gigs and for this reason this concept makes so much sense. i mean how convenient is that, you arrive with a micstand and a gigbag and that's it! i love it
I'll start with this isn't a product for me, but it still makes more sense at the price range than an Acoustasonic does even if were the same price not hundreds more..
That said, even if I was in the market for such a thing, the required app is a 100% no go. I hate products that require app activation. It's just a way to say "hey this product you bought isn't really yours until you set up an account, a profile, register your device (so we can mine your data and sell it to anyone we want). " Then they are going to use that application to push notifications to your phone, and email you marketing crap forever.
Overall it's not a product I hate, but you rightly pointed out the things that need refining. There are some good ideas here and the shortcomings could be worked around, but I don't think it's quite to the mass-market appeal yet.
Got the Nexg 2N version and the Nova Go from Enya. These instruments are phenomenal. I never got so much bang for the buck from a guitar. And the quality of what I get for my money is way above other established brand names.
This instrument concept is wonderful. It’s not genius since keyboards that have similar functionality have been around for decades, but what a great idea. Especially for amateurs. Well done!
Thanks excellent review, you got it spot on. I just got the delux model which comes with a foot pedal with different fonctions. Have you had the chance to test it as well.?
Apart from a couple of things, especially the app activation, the guitar seems really neat! I could definitely use one of these, especially for practice. Really nice video, as always, Henning! 🙌🏼
In one year, Pawnshops will be overflowing with these. @ $50. Which means they will give you $25. & It's China. There will be 100 knockoffs of this gimic... it's Hillarious.
@@soundpainter2590makes no sense. Also, this already is a sort of knock of of the Lava Me. But with added benefits and a welcome addition. 1 year later and there still is no competition on the market not even from china
i really dig the idea a lot. my biggest concern with it is the battery inside of it. is it replaceable? or are you spending $650 on a guitar that will die in a couple years?
This shows why I like your reviews. You absolutely don't hide the flaws of the item, thanks! Promising product, but I feel it needs improvement in the areas you mentioned. But if things like tuner sucks, I am not convinced that a company I have never heard can push this product to great territory
Edit. About the real word application. I still think having acoustic amp makes more sense than this. They usually have mic input. That way you can have reliable guitar and mic. Also can you somehow have the mic on stand? Like what if you want to play and sing at the same time
The IR really sounds good. Built in eq, tuner, effects and vocals. I could plug my keyboard in. Super handy.
What were you thinking when you saw the mic? I already know. Great expression.🤣
What about battery replacement?
the settings are sub menu's if you select you can choose from a reasonable option
Excellent review
Such an authentic review, it will be a good singing performance if you know the guitar should be activated first.
Interesting, I'm not sure its for me right now but I like the portability. I wish I had this in college, instead of lugging my amp around which was huge, heavy, and old lol. I like the concept though, its got its place. Good stuff man!
Hello! Thanks for the review! Tell me, is the top pad on the speaker a fabric or matte plastic? I want a white guitar like this, but if it's cloth, it probably wouldn't be wise to buy a guitar that gets dirty in a month.
Yes it’s cloth
At the birthday party there is such a guitar, that is still very cool🤩
Hi, can you play it like a bass? please say yes.
Usually these sort of gadgets don't get my attention, however theres some VERY interesting design ideas that could easily be developed in to a thoroughly useful travel/busking instrument... interesting stuff!
Thanks for this video.
Separate to this, what's your opinion on IK Multimedia going somewhat seemingly the Kemper route with Tone-X? Am I off on this? If so, then how?
yes they are… it’s not my kinda thing
@@EytschPi42 - I'm an aspiring data scientist and think that what all of them are doing is skirting the law very carefully, having 100% business mindset, and very little regard to the work of fellow builders, innovators, engineers, tradesman like Soldano, Friedman, Suhr, Bogner et al.
Very unprofessional with limited mindset approach, instead of abundance mindset.
Well, if it was loose, is that where the batteries go?
When you unpacked the Mic and made that face I spat my coffee all over my keyboard HP. You have some seriously funny moments in you bro.
Interesting instrument which I'm sure there's a market for.
Have you tried Enya Nova Go SP1? It is now available with electronics. Got one today and it is amazing in every way. A bit smaller than LP but feels great to play. Summer greetings from Finland!
Came for the unboxing and you didn't disappoint 🤣 very weird shaped mic and locking tunners rant, check. Different guitar for sure
Silly thought: ?Alternate Intros? The into could be redone with different moods of music to go along with the type of product/idea presented. Like maybe an acoustic thing Henning has done. Idk I prefer blasting heavy metal to subdued acoustic but it didn't seem to be a good fit here.
Have you tried the lava me 3
Finally a review of this guitar that is a) not dumb, b) full of interesting info for real-life musicians/buskers, and c) entertaining. :-) This guitar - in its next generation haha, „NexG“ - will sweep the busking market for sure. What will it have? A useable tuner, a couple electric simulations (clean and dirty) that actually sound electric, no „activation“ crap, and a slightly more powerful speaker/amp. Oh, and great quality control, as in reliability(!), for no busker in his/her right mind would go trudging around the world carrying this guitar if he/she couldn‘t rely on it working all the time. Another review found that the upper body curve on the guitar rattled (resonated) when certain low notes were played. That doesn‘t seem to be the case here, so that‘s a relief. My only remaining question is this: Would it still sound OK when tuned all the way down to C# standard tuning (maybe with thicker-gauge strings)? I tune all my guitars to C#, so that would be really cool to know, but I don‘t suppose you still have the guitar, do you?
I bought this guitar because of this video. But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to activate it! I downloaded the app, but I can’t get past the “completed” page, which would allow me to get to the effects. Can someone please help me get this damn thing activated?! It’s so irritating that it powers off every time I’m playing a song and it happens every 5 minutes, not 10.
This is weird, once it is completed it should be ready to go. I would definitely try to contact the company!
Nice job
Cool
Cool Video. Cool Instrument. Just my 2 cents: I think the price is absolutely ok. I have a Yamaha Silent Guitar and what you get here for 100 bucks more is impressive. Some more use cases: I am just a living room hobby player. I take the silent guitar, because I like the E-Guitar shape more. I am more used to it, than a big acoustic. And I can practise with head phones. A friend of mine plays gigs and uses the silent guitar, too because of the feedback problems with acoustics on stage.
Puede usar cuerdas de nylon
Great review - thank you 😊
I can see absolutely the use case for a system like that, but I don’t like music equipment that need to be connected to an app. What if the company stops the app service in a year or two or decides you have to pay for that app in the future? You loose a lot of features or have additional costs you didn’t expect as you were buying.
As a stand-alone guitar, go to Yamaha silent guitar and get the real deal for 789€ (price of today in Europe)…
I like that thing
I've been listening and playing guitar music for many years. Love Taylor guitars and many high end classicals. I think that this guitar sounds way too tin sounding with a buzz. I don't think I like the ten minute cut out, that's just weird. You are right about that. Any way I'll stick with old school. You can always buy peddles if you need some effects. I think it is more of a novelty than a quality instrument. I'm not buying one.
When you took out the microphone 😂 I could see that as a cool practice guitar to lean up against the wall. I definitely see it for a minimalist busker depending on how loud the speaker is, but I wouldn’t gig with that guitar. I like how companies are coming out with these, but they need to make some thing. That has the capabilities of Ableton looping very easy to use on the spot, and incorporate Midi like the triple play. Then I would buy something like that. I don’t care about built-in effects or built-in loops or any of that nonsense. Give me those capabilities and you would have something special.
The moral of the video is that you should have read the manual/instructions and familiarized yourself with the instrument before making the video, but then again, do as I say, not as I do, too. Thorough review, good job.
Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. It’s a gimmick guitar, but I like the gimmick. My only concern is on the quality control and service. I’ve not heard the best things. Worst case scenario I send it back to Amazon like I did my lava me 3 that came with a bowed neck and horrible action
$799 in US? - remember, US has prices without tax! ... 19% tax to add at 799 is approx. additional 150$
The only thing I don’t like is the look. I actually don’t like the top opening. I’m probably still going to buy one but I’m thinking of ways I can use a stretch fabric to cover that opening so that it’s still light weight and still able to come apart and packed away. However I won’t be traveling with it much so that’s not a big deal to me. The look is important though. I love looking at my guitars.
Nice idea.
To me it sounds like a eierschneider. At least when it is played solo.
Se le puede poner cuerdas de nailon
A great review as always but in 10 years you will see these at garage sales and flea markets. Anything with a chip in it is obsolete very fast!
I see the point of this, but I think the positive grid spark mini sounds much better and is easier to use.
that's a TOTALLY different application and can't do a MIC and still needs a cable
that is why you have them rope loops
Agree 100% about the app being necessary to keep the guitar from shutting off. That’s incredibly dumb.
the guitar strap is also the strap on the bag
Those small straps connect to the big strap! Sometimes on the headstock. 10 min WTF I guess you have to play short sets! HAHAHAHAHA Thanks PAULY VERY DIFFERENT!
What about the battery life? why not mention it?
I didn’t know
@@EytschPi42 You estimated it at 2 or 3 hours in that video. You actually did not try it, next time can you test it, or refrain from making biased and convenient optimistic guesses? Thank you Sir
@@EytschPi42 Sir, you said that it is possible to rely on portable battery pack to power the guitar. As you have the guitar with you could you check that point? I am interested in this product, but I need to know if we can play it as it gets charged. thank you forehand for your answer Sir
I feel like this instrument is a little pointless in that it creates more issues and hurdles in playing live. Nice acoustic guitars of similar sizes are already sold at many stores for comparable prices (and without the need for an app, charging, or digital doohickeys). All of them without the need for electricity or any apps. Still, the review is much appreciated! Thank ya for showing peeps what this thing really is, what it sounds like, and what it has to offer (even if it ain't my jam haha). It's just a hair waaay too twangy and heavy on the treble for pleasant playing or listening
I'm an owner, same color. Am enjoying it, more and more. Two birthday parties. Great conversation starter too. Still getting used to it.
The metal tabs at the bottom are for charging stand extra 100.00 box for it. I purchased the guitar in usa for 700.00 us but I was thinking to returning because, I feel si frustrated with it. They advertise it as a silence guitar but most reviews dont demonstrated, including you the use of the earphones that come with it. I want to practice and not to disturb people, but so far the guitar is not silence. Also the app is not an easy app you dont see the chords your playing. I used to have a Jamstik trainer guitar that come with a nice app, the app was discontinue, and the guitar only had 5 frets, come on, the smart guitars really suck.
Hi. Rock in!🤗👍😊
Locking tuners on an acoustic feels pointless to me. I have several £3k+ guitars and none have locking tuners and never has it felt like I needed them. Personally I wouldn't have them on my acoustics
I always use auto wah when playing fusion.... WTF? Guess it's not a bad guitar ....for what it's worth (although overpriced). The Yamaha Silent guitar or a model by Soloette are probably better choices for this kind of guitar at this price.
Just ordered one. $639 on amazon (599 Euros).
This freakin' thing is now going for less than 400.00. OMG😮
TRRS tip ring ring sleeve. Double Ring? IDK, probably Engineers have a nomenclature.
4:22 😂
What is wrong with the Cats during the unboxing? There is a Box an no Cat is in there? I think the Apocalypse is near..... :D
You know the guitar world has gone sad when you have to activate your guitar....There are toasters with an app and now we have a guitar.... Thanks for the review Henning!
I sure it also does "The Alexa" thing. & Spies on you. Of course.
It's future landfill..

"POO NINJA" Hey... That's what YOU call yourself. Are you ANTI DIAREAH ?? You Anti Fecalists !!
Is it me or his ears glow? Check around 2:24-2:26
I am magical!
It would be nice if it worked. For the sake of completeness, I'm also talking about the seriousness of the Enya company, which sent me two faulty guitars (they don't turn on), one of which with burst batteries and poisonous liquid leaking from the microphone itself. I was forced to make two returns and obviously no longer have to deal with a company that works in this way
First
No matter how much this company improves itself, and no matter how high quality their future products might be, I will never buy anything from them, based solely upon the 10-minute auto shutoff on this guitar. That is the single dumbest thing I have ever seen in any piece of musical gear in 42 years of life and 30 years of playing guitar. That is a level of stupid that demands at least three lifetimes of ostracization, full stop.
The guitar turns off in the middle of performance??? No thanks.
only if you didn’t use the app ONCE… no biggie if you know it
Just a complete rip-off of the Yamaha silent guitar folk like me have been using for years. The only bit they failed to rip off is the beauty of the Yamaha lines.
Those Yama are indeed beautiful.
Does the Yamaha have a built in Speaker, Bluetooth and a Microphone?
adding junk to junk does not make the junk better value for money. At the end of the day it's all personal opinion. If you really think it is a fantastic product then knock yourself out and buy one.
@@EytschPi42 That's about $6. In electronics. Chinese Cost. Of course Yamaha could include it in the next model run. &, It WILL Perform much better, SOUND better, & Play better. They've been building Musical instruments way longer then they've been building Motorcycles !! & that's a LONG time !
@@nononoathousandtimesno8191 Damm, Can't even burn it in the fireplace ! Waaay to toxic ! ( Probably kill every living thing in 100 miles ! )
I really couldn't be bothered with all the faffing about. It's so much easier and nicer to just pick up an acoustic, sit back on the couch and play. Buttons...Shmuttons!
…castle in Ireland…
sadly it sound bad
I have seen much better reviews on this guitar.
Great
It sounds crappy
Must use that silly dildo mic. Cannot use a wireless headset mic. This means you must lug around a bulky mic stand. This defeats the portability factor. I won’t buy it because of that.
some scenes is really awesome, I like that birthday party, hope mine will go well🥹
Very twangy
Yeah... It sounds like... NO, Worse than shit.
