Makes me so mad that people took to social media and questioned who she was. Bitch she was the song queen of the 90s. You don't just listen to music from when you were born you understand the music that inspired people like swift.
I think Taylor covered that in the intro Boogar. Now back to the booth.
@@barrystewart5946 You make no sense.
Chewbroccoli way over your head tool. You come on social media to bitch about your alternative rock queen. Your complaining is as generic as Boogar McFarland. If you can’t comprehend that get out from under your rock and off social media.
I MEAN. but baby if you're loyal to alanis, lets face the music. we're *gags like Anjelica Hustons GHW* ... old.
@@barrystewart5946 you're Still making no sense.
Alanis still has the most amazing voice!
Not really. but if you choose to think so that is okay. She is (was) a really good song writer to be honest.
YEP...SHE IS....
caveman....
Dude her 2021 tour like listening to the radio in 2005 as a kid
Yep saw her last night and the pipes are immaculate. The range hasn’t changed a day in 25 years.
Well isn't she god? (Dogma reference)
Alanis is queen
Fact 💯
I can just imagine the moms in the audience being like "AND IM HERE TO REMIND YOU OF THE MESS YOU LEFT WHEN YOU WENT AWAY!!!!!" lmaoooo!!!!
Surely they were more wondering about the line 'is she perverted like me, would she go down on you in a theatre'..... haha
@@nanlucita truth 🤣
Umm, I'm guessing that a good number of those moms are Gen-Xers and wouldn't mind hearing their daughters utter the f-word as they sang along. And even if they're the squeamish type, they were probably thinking, "Ok, fine, I'll let you swear just this one time (because it's Alanis)." 😆😄
Lol
I was under ten when jagged little pill was released. I still listen to and appreciate it. Good music is timeless.
What's with the bored people down the front ... it's ALANIS F#$@N MORISSETTE. Show some respect for the Queen of the 90's !!!
iloverock718 They weren't bored. They were looking at the video screens trying to get the best view.
+iloverock718 I guess that most of the audience doesn't know who she is. Taylor's public is really young, and most of them don't have that 90s thing in their veins. The same happened with Beck... or Lisa Kudrow, lot of people were like "who is that old hippie lady"? But I guess it's ok, those guests weren't for young audiences at all. Or at least not for teenagers that are only into post 2000 music.
+Alejandro Goldin Yeah I totally get it, just from 3:45 onwards there are a lot of placid people! I am a huge Taylor fan and love her music ... but I was 14 years old when Ms Morissette brought out Jagged Little Pill and man it defined my teenage years. She is an absolute legend in my eyes! Her music is still relevant today, if only the young ones would take the time to listen to it. I may have gotten a little carried away when I saw people just standing there! hahahaha. I guess in 20 years time some new artist might bring Taylor on stage and we'll see the same thing happen again.....!
+iloverock718 Alanis was performing in front of tens of thousands of fans that were singing right along and tens of thousands of new fans just now getting exposed to her great music with an endorsement from somebody they already love. The very definition of a "win, win" situation.
millennials dont know who she is
I went through 2 Jagged Little Pill cds back in the 90s.... I wore them out!! Alanis is bad ass!
Good therapy listening and singing this song out loud after a painful breakup my cheating ex. She really captured the anger and betrayal of how your left after that.
On the other side of the stage Taylors bass player is having the time of his life with something he really shred on, awesome:)) Flea would be well happy.
Yeah not a lot of people know that was Flea on bass and Dave Navarro on guitar for that track.
Alanis Morissette is still just as beautiful as she was in the 90's. I was just 25 when she hit the stage. Just a young punk. She still stands the test of time. Still a bad ass song! Way to go Alanis!!! People this day have NO CLUE what REAL MUSIC is!!!!! The 80's and 90's was nothing but awesome good real music!!!!! All you bored people need to go home!!!!
I was 16...
No. The 80s and 90s were filled with trash music just like now, but enough time has passed that all the bad stuff has been forgotten, and only the good stuff gets remembered. That's why people seem to think older music is better, because they have forgotten all the trash.
Damn what r u 60 now?
The music today is nothing but trash! that’s why 10 to 20 years from now, nobody will remember the shit that’s out now! all garbage!!
Yaaaasssss!! You know it!!
I'm not a major Taylor fan but I love what she's done with this and the way she acknowledged her trail blazer!
Excellent!!!
There is no need for anyone else to sing when Alanis is singing.
Thank you. You speak truth
Stfu
if only Alanis's mic wasnt screwed up for half her lines we would have heard more of her high notes..... oh.... but that was probably intentional..... Thanks for that Taylor....
You are absolutely correct !! Swift isn't even in the same league !!
@@mlarsen77 I noticed that, but I doubt Taylor had anything to do with it... Looks to me like the biggest thrill that night was for Taylor to do a duet with her idol.
Ariana grande said that “god is a woman.” And her name is alanis morissette!
I agree
Absolutly my daughter and I love her music SHE ROCKS !!!!
You know she actually played God in a movie, right? 😉
@@pascalelandry1701 Ariana Fans weren't born then and don't get the reference
Yeah it was definitely Kevin Smith who made that statement a long damn time ago.
Nothing beats the mighty 90's ever!🤟
Give the music from 1984 a listen
Or from the 70s!!
There is plenty of great music from the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00''s and it will go on and on...we hope. All those decades have plenty to offer in what is really modern music. (Oh, sorry, but I don't think the 90's really tops the three prior decades for a depth of material, song writing, and variety. Another great decade, but not as great.
Alanis wasn't the only "song queen of the 1990's. What about No Doubt, with Gwen Stefani? But she is great, and this is truly the grittiest and explicit breakup song ever. Fit for a "banned in Boston" prize.
If I really think about it, there are others with the same amount of angst, just presented slightly more subtlety. In the category of really hanging out the dirty laundry for all to see and know exactly who the participants are has to go to the band No Doubt and "Don't Speak". Frankly, doing that song, in real time, with the band and the other band member you were in love with takes guts. Others, such as Carly Simon's, "You're So Vain" are almost as direct, and express plenty of anger, just a bit less dramatically. "Dreams" written by Stevie Nicks, is another real time jab at Lindsey Buckingham. Her message is basically, you're going to miss me you dirty bastard.
For portrayed emotional grief, it would be hard to beat "Piece of My Heart" by Janis Joplin".
All these music snobs are bashing Taylor as if they have to defend their idol Alanis, when Alanis clearly appreciates Taylor and her music, or else she wouldn't have done this performance with her.
Alanis Morissette has a GREAT voice and Real talent... Taylor Swift is a music industry created pop star with a medicore voice. Atlanta Morissettes exceptional talent sold her records, the modern music industry mass media hype machine created a Image and brand called Talyor Swift and that sells records.. definitely not Taylors voice or perceived talent .... Taylor Swift a great example of the dumbing-down of people and of modern music.
@@matooleyobrien2918 okay boomer
Nobody bashing Taylor, just the clueless audience
Probably just publicity to younger crowd for Alanis since her debut U.S album Jagged Little Pill is going to be re-released and/or put on Broadway or something soon. I mean have to say it definitely looks awkward b/t the 2. IMO
@@jabr9341she also has a major tour happening in 2020
Wow, both my all-time favourite singers. I love how Taylor honors Alanis as a songwriter because Alanis is really such a great songwriter!
Taylor actually sang that extremely well
word. i love that they had her on the rippy little prechorus, that was kind of perfect placement, since AM goes places, bless her heart, her voice just can't go.
Surprisingly. She did a duet with Stevie Nicks that Taylor came across as 3rd place in a junior high talent show.
I was there and they killed it however I do wish they would’ve have covered Uninvited instead I love both Taylor & Alanis ! Putting em together her was an incredible moment to witness live!
Surprisingly well
Some people in this frame were meh, but I LOVED seeing the younger few who knew the lyrics and were like YAAAS!!!!!!!!!!!
Ditto
Alanis the queen, that was freakin awesome wish i could have been there just to see that live......
That was all the moms singing in the crowd.
Exactly what I was thinking.
I had that exact thought myself!!! LMFAO!! I remember the good old days when Alanis was all over the radio you couldn't go 1 hour without this song coming on multiple stations; Im surprised radio is still barely hanging on these days, it's bad enough kids don't know what CD's are anymore lol!
Fuck yes. 🙈 I would have been included lol. I was 15, a sophomore when this blew up.
Ye back when music was good in the 90s
Stop!! 😂 I’m 15 and I would’ve BOPPED. I love ALANIS SM
The fact that their are girls in the audience NOT singing along at the top of their lungs is mine blowing and showing how young they are! You're welcome for Taylor introducing you to a LEGEND!
This is amazing. Taylor likes to change up her sound every album. Alternative Rock suits her well...just saying.
right!? she should make an alternative rock album....just saying ;)
Globelamp omg is TS7 gonna really be a ROCK ALBUM? I can feel that..
Dude I’ve wanted her to make a rock album for SO LONG! Her voice suits it so well
@@globelamp she shouldn't, she won't sound good as Avril did on "Under My Skin", or Alanis Morissette on "Jagged Little Pill"
@countrygirl countrymusiclover you're always rude
5:13 I saw Alanis morissette for the first time in her second album tour in 99 in my little hometown mid Central Washington and this is healing me so much listening to this right now my son who is 13 his loved your music since we listen to reputation when it came out Taylor Swift and I just love how real and honest everybody's learning to be 🎉❤
That’s the longest cat walk I’ve ever seen.
Killer Alanis..
jagged little pill still One of the greatest albums of all time ...
And i have to say, Taylor is a Real fan of her....did very well !!!!
This song is like a less polite version of Adele's Someone Like You
Adele: I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited...
Alanis: I HATE TO BUG YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF DINNERRRRR
What? Version of Someone Like You? Better say that is a Polite version of You Oughta Know
No it's not about her
I thought it's more like a less polite version of Rolling in the deep.
Look up the original and realize what you’re talking about. They hold nothing on her.
I think you mean that "Someone Like You" is a polite version of "You Oughta Know!" There--I fixed it for you! You're welcome!
Crazy how many young people there didn't know who and how powerful she is!!! Let's hope they Googled her and became fans
Two favourites. Jamming to Jagged Little Pill whilst I drive is the best.
Alanis is the Alpha and the Omega:
Im a huge Alanis fan. Not so much a swift fan but this duet was amazing. Big props to both of them !
Thank you! See, it's possible to not be a fan, and yet resist trash talking. Thank you.
Same here. Im not a big fan of swift but I enjoy dancing to a couple of her hits on a dance floor… but hell I liked this rock side of Taylor! Fun pop and crazy rock together… brilliant!
damn AM has a powerful voice, and always brings it with emotion
I'm in love!!!
Alanis is love, she is amazing, inspiring, she is everything!!
My childhood would have been so different without her music to turn to.
My mother listened to her when I was 4. We were going through a divorce where my step dad got custody of my three younger brothers... my first brother and I would scream sing You Learn whenever they got to be with us..
My mother remarried and my new step dad's sister was amazing. She was my instant bestie from the moment they got together. But when I was in 5th grade my late Aunt was left in a state to vegetation, by means of a comma that was caused by a car accident.. when I was in 8th grade she went to be with sing in the heavenly choir. I was devastated.
A few months after her passing we were sorting through her stuff and they came across Jagged Little Pill in get CD collection... They brought it to me and I broke down. So thankful!
I'd had know idea when got into the accident that she'd loved her too. I felt instantly re-bonded to not only Janna but also my mother, just by having the album in my possession.
To this day Alanis is my go to karaoke, car AND shower music. I sing her songs Acapella daily and I can't imagine life without it. Would I even sing at all?!?? #doubtful 😅
Now my little Kala heart dreams of going to see her in Nashville this summer... And with that I'll be done now... A girl can dream!

PS I could make a post about TSwizzle over there too 😉 she's also, totally muh girl! 😘😍🤩
I'd be totally wigging out! I LOVE ALANIS! One of my music heroes!
Mine too!!! Saw her and Tori Amos. The 5 and a half week tour. 🎹🎵🎼🎤
This song is really cathartic to scream in the car after having a bad day at work. Alanis is queen.
If I went to this concert with my daughter I'd have been rocking out so bad!
Alanis has an incredible, unique voice and she doesn't get enough props for it.
Facts! Uninvited displays her vocal abilities so brilliantly.
I saw that concert!! It was pretty amazing!!! I can't even begin to explain how incredible it was
I watched it on yt 🥲 How much were tickets do you remember?
She wasn't there
Hey Luna... I realize your commentary has some years on it, but I'm wondering if you remember whether they actually sang the "word," to be PG about it... (audio quality is not the best here)

Jagged Little Pill has sold almost 35 =million= copies since 1995. NO other female has come remotely close.
Shania Twain has sold more albums. I like Jagged Little Pill but it’s not even in the top 20 album sales of all time.
ST has sold 34 mil total. Alanis sold 35+ of that ONE album.
@@naughtmoses No, Shania's album 'Come On Over', just the one album, has sold more than 40 million copies. Get your facts straight.
@@naughtmoses wrong lol
Alanis is one of my favorites and Taylor Swift invited her up on the stage and sang “You Oughta Know” at the Staples Center in Los Angeles back in 2015.
Taylor did a great job singing with Queen Alanis!
This is Epic!!! Taylor slayed that line too.
At least they didn't censor themselves over the key word
jim l well there are ALOT of young kids (7-8 year olds) in her crowd.
@@mcgurkryans At this point Taylor is an adult and it’s not her job to cater to people’s children. Most of her fan base that started out listening to her grew up with her.
All I can say is Wow!!!! Two awesome musicians from different decades collaborating!!!
'Hey mom, which one was Alanis Morissette again ?'
'Ask your father'
'Er, I think she's Canadian ?'
How quickly the music world moves on. That said, kudos to Ms Swift for acknowledging the fact that Alanis went from pre-packaged teen starlet to angst-ridden young woman in the space of a single album and never looked back. As soon as the industry can get an artist into a box they can sell, that's usually all she wrote - Britney and countless others found that out the hard way. Taylor, Pink and Lana Del Ray all seem to be in a position where they can tell their record companies 'Hey, this is where I'm going, like it or lump it' and I suspect that Alanis' success was a big part of that shift.
Sent to the world from our beautiful capital, and my hometown, Ottawa.
@@christinew4108 it's weird - I thought Ottawa was cold (and it is compared to virtually everywhere I've lived) but then I read about Winnipeg. Stay warm.

Alanis Morissette is an OG !!! LOVE HER !!!!!! 😂👍💯😁
ALANIS NEW MUSIC IS MAKING THIS 2020 CRAZINESS...A LITTLE LESS FUCKED UP!
Two of my favourites from different generations!!! 😍
Since I’ve seen this video I’m starting to respect Taylor S...

Two QUEENS ruling the stage.
work. FULLY that.
Thank you!!!! I'm SO SICK of all the comments on here bashing Taylor and just comparing the two of them, as if it's a damn wrestling match or something. THEY ARE BOTH GOOD.
I seen Alanis Morrisette on a really late music show I believe it was on MTV at like 3 in the morning and she wasn't really even heard of yet and I told my girl this chick is gonna be big. She rocks I went to one of her concerts like a year later.
😱😱😱 I'm going to see these two great artists this year and I'm not ready 😱😱😱

Love thos 😢 Alana Morisete and Swift what a collab for this century 💯💯♨️
Loving it all the way over here in Glasgow, Scotland :)
Alanis Morissette!❤🇧🇷✌
Taylor’s bass player must be like “F Yeah” finally some 16ths funk based playing.
I love Alanis soooooo much 😍 😍 😍 I wish she come to my country
The two queens come together!!
Make way for the 90's Diva, a lot of respect, inspiration from this amazing vocal and technique, timbre and way of dressing, attitude and spectacular sound 👏👏 Viva!!!
Fantastic. Love them both.
Alanis is just pure brilliant. Easily one of the nest songwriters of the last 25 years or so.
Amazing to see two legends perform way back before they were big stars🌟
I love Alanis Morissette, and certainly have a lot of respect for Taylor Swift, as well. I understand why so many people relish the "good old days" when we had "real music" to listen to, and why they automatically dismiss contemporary music: every generation thinks their stuff was the best and everything else is incomprehensible garbage. As a nearly 60 year old human I feel confident saying that there is a universe FILLED with good music being created today. (King Princess, Ben Howard, The Cinematic Orchestra, Warpaint, Tash Sultana, Wookiefoot, Billie Eilish, Khalid, Alicia Keys, Agnes Obel, The Highwomen, Nelly Furtado, Perpetual Groove, Sarah Jarosz, Rhiannon Giddens, Bonobo, Paula Cole, Woodkid ... the list is endless!) The oldsters need to open their minds and then open their ears and take a trip around the planet. There is sooooo much to explore! Commercial radio sucks, yes. Tune into something good then, and lay back and enjoy the ride!
It’s so nice to see someone appreciate our music when they didn’t grow up with it. I’m Gen-Z, but I love 1970s-1990s music, but it also love today’s music too (see: Taylor Swift), so it kinda hurts when I see people from other generations hate on our music, when I really respect theirs. They don’t have to like it but at least be respectful. It makes me happy so see someone appreciate it.
It appeared a good portion of the crowd didn’t know who she is. Too bad. At least Taylor gave her plenty of respect. Happy to see that.
Alanis is so unique in her writing and vocals. This Taylor girl still has a long way to go if she wants to be famous. GOOD LUCK KID !!!
When they're stood together you can just Alanis's class. Your eye is just drawn to her, she just holds your attention
Anyone else notice how Taylor Swift bares a striking resemblance to Pat Benatar- except with blonde hair? It's not a twin sort of resemblance, but something I can't put my finger on that looks very alike about them.
i mean if you dive into the pop star cloning conspiracies, it makes perfect sense. but we'll just call it a coincidence for now babe. ;)
Idk, I can kinda see it.
Since all that began, women are so much happier with life now. Just overjoyed.
AWESOME, just saw this first time, didn’t know the two greats performed together. I LOVE duets 🥰✨
TAYLOR SOUNDED SO GOOD IN THE CHORUS
I wonder if they drew straws to decide who would sing the "fuck" line.
word has it from a reporter at this concert... most younger people had no clue who Alanis Morissette even was. Kinda sad that they, (the fans) were so clueless
Oooo, so one person somewhere said that, and it's just...true? That's totally why everyone was cheering and singing along, because they had no clue who the singer was....
I love Alanis💜💜💜💜💜💜💙💙🖤
I can even imagine what the "swifties" think of this song. I sing it whenever I think of my ex.
I remember in the 90s I was in high school, came home and my father rather alarmingly said “have you heard that crazy song on the radio by that angry woman who hates men?”
LOL. I was hooked by her voice. Listened to her loud in my room in our house on repeat. Became estranged from my dad for 12 years. Heard he went to her concert when she came to our Country. Proud of you Dad.
I have never commented on videos before but can we have a little moment to acknowledge the hardcore fan girling Tay Tay is showing in this performance.
She is literally losing her shit and crowd fan singing with the mic far away from her during the parts where Alanis was lead then it is as if Taylor remembers all of a sudden "shit, I'm performing too!! Lets do a little dance, bring the mic close ok, all good, omg omg omggggg".
Then showtime face, singing then realising her idol was there on stage with her and losing her shit all over again 😂
Bless
I love this.
It is so evident and clear why Alanis was invited, seeing how Taylor is such an obvious huuuuge fan.
Also Taylor did so well, this is not an easy one to pull off live.
wow this style really suits taylor too

Two of the greatest female songwriters of all time. Not a huge fan of her music but Taylor swift is up there with the best.
Not to crazy about Taylor Swift but I LOOOOVE Alanis Morissette. She is the GREATEST!!!!!
In 2007 I saw Taylor Swift on her very first tour and a local fair and it'll never be the same because she was actually doing country then
Would have been better if Taylor had left the stage and let Alanis sing the song by herself.

If this isn’t clear enough, Taylor has consistently been an amazing songwriter and to say that she isn’t just because of her more happy/popular songs, which don’t even have bad lyrics:
“And I heard you moved on
From whispers on the street
A new notch in your belt
Is all I'll ever be” - I Knew You Were Trouble, Red (2012)
“'Cause one of these things is not like the others
Livin' in winter, I am your summer
Baby doll, when it comes to a lover” - ME!, Lover (2019)
“It's like I got this music in my mind saying it's gonna be alright” - Shake It Off, 1989 (2014)
“You tell me 'bout your dreams
Think I know where you belong
Think I know it's with me” You Belong With Me, Fearless (2008)
“I don't like your kingdom keys
They once belonged to me
You asked me for a place to sleep
Locked me out and threw a feast” Look At What You Made Me Do, reputation (2017)
“You look like my next mistake
Love's a game, wanna play?” - Blank Space, 1989 (2014)
“Band-aids don't fix bullet holes
You say sorry just for show
You live like that, you live with ghosts
Hm, if you love like that blood runs cold” - Bad Blood, 1989 (2014)
