  • Are you tired of pulling damp clothes out of your tumble dryer? 😓 Don't worry, it might not be as bad as you think-it could just be the moisture sensors acting up. 👀 Hi, I'm Paul, a domestic appliance engineer with years of experience under my belt. Today, I'm going to take you through the world of sensor dry tumble dryers, a topic that doesn’t get the attention it deserves. 🌟

Unlock the Secrets of Your Tumble Dryer's Efficiency!
We’ll explore how these nifty sensors can sometimes trick your dryer into thinking your laundry is dry when it's not. 🧐 I’ll break down how they function, why they might be giving you the cold shoulder (or should I say, the damp shirt?), and some easy maintenance tips to keep them sensing properly. 🔧 So, if you're a DIY fan or just want to know a bit more about your trusty appliance, you're in the right place for some handy insights to boost your dryer's performance and efficiency. 💪
Let's get technical for a moment: resistance, measured in ohms, is how we gauge the sensors' readings. A lower ohm reading generally means your clothes are wet, since water conducts electricity well. 💧 As they dry, the reading goes up. 📈 And when they're bone dry? You should see the highest resistance, because dry fabric is a poor conductor of electricity. 🚫🌊 Keep in mind, though, these readings can be swayed by the type of fabric, the dryer's design, and even the humidity in the air. 🌬️ For the nitty-gritty details, the manufacturer's specs or service manual for your model will be your best friends. 📚

Another factor to consider, Is the floor level? If your sensor is in the front, and clothes are "falling" to the rear of the dryer" they won't touch the sensor. Bubble level test

I got Asko heat pump dryer which runs continuously even after drying clothes in auto cycles. Replaced the main pcb, carbon brush but still the same. What do you think the issue is?

I have a White Knight dryer that, I believe, is not operating on maximum heat with the button pressed in. You did mention this problem on one of your videos, but I cannot find anything in your playlist that explains how to test the gentle and high heat switch. Please help. I've checked the heating elements and they are both good. Also thoroughly cleaned machine.

On Bosch dryers often you have to finish drying on timed program because sensordry isn't the best. They even advise that in manual.

Thanks for the comment, they work reasonably well if kept clean. I have one in my house for a few years, never a problem now

I have the same Bosch condenser dryer and I’ve replaced the sensor bar inside And the NTC on the back but still in the machine only runs for 10 minutes and cut off. But it would run for hours on time setting !! Any idea , pcb , the machine is brand-new, but it was in storage for one year so out of warranty

This tumble dryer it starts turning...heater start geting warm ...10 seconds later I can ear a click from one of the relays on the front panel ....it stops...then restart but with all lights flashing red and the heating element will stay cold .
I have checked continuity on the 2x sensors on the heating element and they seems to be ok as the multimeter it beeps.....I pull out the front NTC sensor.... testing for continuity and I get no beeps from multimeter but when checking ohms the value change depending on outside temperature blown at it.
relay tested like in one of your video and working
    heating element tested and working
What is my next step? Does it have more sensors somewhere else? Thank you

Are the sensors 24vDC? I got a, i believe, failure in the transformer in my whirlpool awz 3417. The LM258 outputs only 20vdc. When connected to the control panel and humidity sensor, it oulses between low voltage and 20vdc. Anyone knows the normal behaviour or at least if it should be 24vdc?

*pulses... low frequency pulse, like 5hz or something near that
