- After finishing all Majima's substories, he gets a bizarre message in his pager that he is unable to decipher, but eventually he concludes that the message is talking about a bull ring of some sorts. And so he takes a cab to the nearest bull ring only to find one mysterious man. The man challenges Goro Majima to a fight as a member of the Amon Clan, a clan with fighters who master ultimate techniques and are second to none.
Done at level 1 without all abilities maxed.

It’s hilarious. Even funnier if you picture Amon coming up with that riddle, and try to wrap your head around what he was ACTUALLY trying to hint at.
I love how both Amon's are so oddly specific about coming back in '17 years' or so. SEGA just throws subtlety out of the window and fucks it to death :')

And kiwami 2 are like "the new canon shit" for example majima was wounded in his final fight in kiwami for the gunshot. But in the original it was for the knife he took at the batting cages

This game is more of a light retcon, given Majima knew most of his popularity with this game (previously, getting him playable was more of a fan request by those who remember him from the original Yakuza 1. Case in point, Kiwami 1 comes after this game, and it features him prominently, with the Majima Everywhere system, and he reprises all of his three stances when you fight him), as it was the main way for SEGA to make him more important in both gameplay and plot after the various mainline sequels.
In that sense, the reason why the Amon didn't fight Majima, it's because the latter was out of focus. It's to be expected he will be featured in the fights of the rest of the Kiwami games, including the 1v1 matches in 4, assuming the series doesn't go on hiatus or the actors aren't available (like in Reina's case)

Jo Amon in a sense is a foil to Majima in his later years: both are obsessed with fighting Kiryu and becoming stronger in general, but where Majima his insanity is less of insanity and more as a method of coping with the harsh lifestyle of the Yakuza and only cares about having fun while fighting, independently of the result, Jo actually is insane, consumed by pride and revenge because of his constant defeats at the hands of Kiryu, and gets increasingly frustrated when he loses.
Jo = Jojo
Amon = Hamon
Secret techniques = Joestar family secret technique
17 years = Jotaro is 17 years old in stardust crusaders
Bizarre = Half life 3 confirmed

The hamon wasn't a Joestar family secret technique though. The Joestars didn't have a secret technique at all actually. The only shared technique the Joestars had was hamon, and that wasn't secret and stopped after just 2 parts.

I love how Kiryu fights So Amon instead of Jo Amon because in Yakuza 4 he said he fought Jo Amon 3 times before (once in the original Yakuza, once in 2, and once in 3). If he fought Jo here, that would be breaking continuity so they had to give him a new Amon to fight.

this makes me nostalgic, in a way. i remember doing all the side missions for both majima and kiryu for my husband, who at the time that i finally got amon's message was in the kitchen.
he heard the noise and INSTANTLY dropped everything to run in and see if i actually did it, then we waited until after he was done to try fighting him in turns-- if one lost, the other would try again next time. i think i was the one who ended up winning, but i can't be too certain. i do know we had to use a taser stick.

If anyone sees this, complete the friendship with Majima's Mr. Libido before this fight. You'll need to watch about 15 separate videos in Gandhara to max it, and at the end you'll get access to the Incomparable Habu Drink, which charges your health and heat to max every time you use it.

One great way to instantly take out one of his health bars, switch to Thug, get your heat up, and get behind him. If you have the ability, Majima will steal his dagger and stab him with it and bam, one bar gone. Then you can hit him with it once. You have to do it before he actually pulls it out himself.
Man they sure do love reusing that bull ring from yakuza 3 I've seen it in every game now (except maybe 6?) lol
The entire Yakuza series is filled with re-usable things, you'll see a lot more if you look close xD
They even use it in Judgement

Did anyone else notice that JoAmon fight style is similar to Kazuma? Not the sluggish brawl style. But like his original fighting style since 1-5.
JoAmon fights with both the Dragon of Dojma style and the Mad Dog style in his fight
You can actually unlock it in Yakuza 0 by completing the Real Estate storyline. In case anyone still wonders. Same goes for Majima’s crazy EHEHEHE style, but you need to complete the Cabare Club story.

The Amons would be the best enemies to test a level 999 Kiryu and Majima against
Grinded Majima to level 10 Mad Dog, and spammed the Baseball Bat Heat action. Switched to Thug to knee him twice on the ground to rebuild heat. Used Habu drinks to keep my heat/health up. Jo went down quick.

It's crazy that even though you were basically perfect the fight was still almost 10 minutes long.
the first 4 minute is a cutscene and the battle end at minute 8:26 for the final speech... so 4 minutes of the battle..
