Note about the binding: As someone has pointed out I made a mistake in this video & said you need an even number of holes, when what I meant was you need to DIVIDE the holes by an even number (4, 6, 12 etc once you have your two end ones in place), which will actually give you an odd number of holes. SORRY for the confusion. (If you see anyone else confused in the comments please put them straight, I can't seem to find a way to add a text note to the video itself, many thanks ❤️)
I made them! Not actually as journals, it's how I store my cards now. And I don't decorate them very much... I do cut them though. But boy do I put a ton of beads on the edges!!!!
💚💙🖤Awwww, your mermaid journal!!! That brought back so many wonderful memories of when I first started making journals following your tutorials. Thank you Jenniebellie for sharing your ideas with us💚💙🖤
Wonderful! 😊 Can you link in the description box the tutorial you mentioned for creating the entire ribbon journal or whatever it's called, please? Thank you!
Great journal idea and perfect with no sewing at all! No need to push tiny threads through small holes. Just push wider thread through slightly larger holes, why didn't I think of that.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! ❤️❤️ we have a HUGE Jennibellie Self Care Package Giveaway, the first monthly art challenge video of 2022 & a 50% off ALL Classes January Sale all at journalworkshops.ning.com/ right now. Hope to see you over there 😘
Thanks jennibelle I heard about you from Treasure books so I came to check you out today enjoyed this video a lot and what a wonderful idea. much love and gratitude
I see you found one of my vlogs where you get a peek as I'm making the room up. A full tour (and before and afters) will be coming, just waiting for the weather to improve so it doesn't look too gloomy. Happy new year ❤️
Thank you for sharing this tutorial and purpose behind this journal. I’m thinking about making a manifestation type of journal in February and I really love the prompts you’ve given and will definitely use those!
I needed this. I became sick two days after Christmas and am just now beginning to feel better. In addition, I had become depressed and that was not how I envisioned beginning this new year. So thank you so much for helping me get out of my funk and renewing my optimism for a new year. I just completed the first three prompts and it is insane sometimes how just getting it out and on paper can be so beneficial. Happy New Year to you and I am looking forward to creating the best version of me that I can this year as well as learning new things. :)
That's great about the art swap, not so much the migraines, but consider me your partner for this monthly challenge - I expect to see some art from you this month...dun dun deeerrrr! lol I'll be looking out...
I just found your channel. I'm in love with the binding method. Your journals are gorgeous. Thanks so much for sharing. I now have some binge watching to do . Lol have a super fantastic day. Sending big hugs Sherry
Have a brilliantly creative and abundant 2022 Jennibellie. The Crop-o-dile you are using is the "Crop-A-Dile 2 Big Bite Punch" sadly not many available right now. Will have to keep my eyes open for them.
Happy new year jenni!!I love the idea of having a dedicated journal for the new year, tracking our goals/intentions and also a space to add new things as we go along. I am currently creating the journal, but I had to take a break as my kitten (who looks a lot like your kitty, she just has brown eyes instead) is demanding attention :') I am so excited about doing the January challenge too, as I've decided that one of my goals for 2022 is to start posting on journal workshops :3 Those greeting card journals are such a throwback, such nostalgia
Just my 3¢..... BUT .. As to possibly help people to find the bigger Cropadille with what it's called and that one is "The Big Bite" it makes two size holes and it also can set different grommets. And has the ability to do all that in a large variety of locations on a page . Where as others can only go around the edge of a page or into the page slightly. It's pricy for sure ... But as you said fully worth it !! But if you can wait and can get it with a coupon at a craft store you can catch a good deal that way ..
OH YEAH!! This is the journal I was talking about Jenni. Great! I pray that you are doing well. It's bitter cold here. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
Can’t wait to try this new kind of binding for me. It’s lovely and a scrap ribbon piece user for sure. You are such a pretty lady and am so glad I found your channel. Happy and blessed new year to you. (Also love the lists I am eager to give lots of thought to.)
Beautiful and simple tutorial!! I have added this video to my list of things to share with a FB group challenges that I set up weekly. You're really a TOTALLY AWESOME Artist! Hopefully you have the Happiest New Years!! Namesta ✌️🕉️🐞
Hi I cant wait to try this ive only made one journal so far I made my daughter in law a Harry Potter one and she loved it. So I'd like to start making journals for people and friends. Thank you for sharing. The other cropadile is called the Big Bite hope this helps. Happy New Year.
I remember that mermaid journal! It was many years ago, but watching you gave me the freedom to not have to be perfect. I made a few journals from your older tutorials and at the time, it felt so rebellious and liberating! You were such a beautiful person inside and out then and seeing you again many years later here, that has not changed one bit❤ Thank you for all your videos, knowledge and above all your light and authenticity.
Jennibellie, I'm a little confused about the binding. You said to make sure you do an even number of holes. If you do so, how do you come out with one hole left at the bottom when going down the first time. It appears you have 13 holes which would be an odd number and I could then see how you would have one hole left and could then start back up. Thanks for your help.
Hi Diane, you are right sorry when what I meant was you need to divide the holes by an even number (once you have your two end ones in place). Hopefully I can find a way to put a note on the video, thanks for letting me know my mistake. Much love ❤️
Hi Judi, thank you. I'm very lazy with my hair tbh, the only reason it has gotten so long is I haven't visited the hairdresser since covid. I only use shampoo and conditioner on it - though I do try to always use natural ones, no chemicals - and a heat defense spray for blow drying too now I think of it. Happy new year ❤️
Here they are: The prompts - to fill out now: ⭐️ 10 Things I want to do/experience (this year) ⭐️ 10 Things I want to learn ⭐️ 10 Things I want to create ⭐️ 10 Things I want to achieve to make space for now but fill out throughout the year - ⭐️ 10 Things I am proud ⭐️ 10 Things I want to remember Thank you for reminding me I had forgotten to put them in the description!
hi, tbh they came from an english store (art discount I believe it's called) so not sure you'll get them there but they really are not the best quality so whatever large sheets you can find there will be fine - just make sure you honor the paper grain when folding them so they don't crack.
Note about the binding: As someone has pointed out I made a mistake in this video & said you need an even number of holes, when what I meant was you need to DIVIDE the holes by an even number (4, 6, 12 etc once you have your two end ones in place), which will actually give you an odd number of holes. No matter how I figure it I end up with an even number and can’t figure out what I am doing wrong?????!!
@@bettymetz3746 Don't worry about it honey - if you make sure that you fill the gap between any two holes with a ribbon you will get the same effect 😉
Thanks for clarifying. I sought this video again just to watch the ribbon binding which I want to try.
I’ve had my Cropadile about 15 years as well. it works just like new even today
I made them! Not actually as journals, it's how I store my cards now. And I don't decorate them very much... I do cut them though. But boy do I put a ton of beads on the edges!!!!
I am coming back to The Workshop! Thanks for drawing me back
Woohoo!! Have fun ❤️❤️
This journal is so creative and unique! Setting intentions is more realistic than resolutions 👍
💚💙🖤Awwww, your mermaid journal!!! That brought back so many wonderful memories of when I first started making journals following your tutorials. Thank you Jenniebellie for sharing your ideas with us💚💙🖤
Aww the memories lol glad you're still with me, happy new year Marie ❤️
Wonderful! 😊 Can you link in the description box the tutorial you mentioned for creating the entire ribbon journal or whatever it's called, please? Thank you!

Shout out to the 'old' card journals. The first journal I ever made was one of those. I encourage everyone to give one a try. Happy New Year to you!
Whoop whoop! Wonderful, I love hearing that! Happy New Year Jenn ❤️
You have such clever ideas! What a wonderful way to embellish and bind in one fell swoop!

@@jennibellie thanks for the clarification. Now, I'm going to start on my journal. Love your channel.
Just love the binding
Love the beginnings of you 2022 journal. Thus is off topic, but what are you using to get your hair so long and lovely?
Hi Judi, thank you. I'm very lazy with my hair tbh, the only reason it has gotten so long is I haven't visited the hairdresser since covid. I only use shampoo and conditioner on it - though I do try to always use natural ones, no chemicals - and a heat defense spray for blow drying too now I think of it. Happy new year ❤️
Love this. What kind of paper?
It's a quite thin gsm drawing paper I think, nothing too special, use whatever you have is my motto.
Do you have The place I can go to get the prompts without watching the video all over? I didn't take notes.
Here they are:
The prompts -
to fill out now:
⭐️ 10 Things I want to do/experience (this year)
⭐️ 10 Things I want to learn
⭐️ 10 Things I want to create
⭐️ 10 Things I want to achieve
to make space for now but fill out throughout the year -
⭐️ 10 Things I am proud
⭐️ 10 Things I want to remember
Thank you for reminding me I had forgotten to put them in the description!
What papers are you using? I did not see any large papers on your Amazon link. can you steer an American in the right direction?
hi, tbh they came from an english store (art discount I believe it's called) so not sure you'll get them there but they really are not the best quality so whatever large sheets you can find there will be fine - just make sure you honor the paper grain when folding them so they don't crack.
