I am rebuilding a 1988 YS125. The illustrated parts breakdown shows a "boss plate" but when I pulled the stack, I didn;t see any thing but standard metal and friction plates. You guys have any idea what that "boss plate" is about?
Never use Tusk aftermarket parts their junk. Used their plates and springs and they tore up my baskets after one ride. Couldn’t even pull in the lever. 600 dollars to get oem and runs great now. And yes I know what I am doing.
@Rocky Mountain ATV MC - Can you comment on what impact the clutch spring length has on the way the clutch lever behaves, if any impact at all? Is there a solution for making adjustments to a clutch that engages near the end of the clutch lever travel?
The springs keep the clutch from slipping, so it will only affect that and how hard the clutch is to pull. All of your adjustments will be in the cable, perch and the lever. If the release is right at the end, use the adjusting screw on the back of the perch, and the adjusting screw on the lever to get it where you want it, then use the adjusters on the cable and perch to get the right amount of free-play in the cable. -Charles

if you change the spring for Heavy duty ones you will make the clutch feel heavy like 450cc isn't?
