#Houston #HoustonProsAndCons #Texas Hey guys! Welcome back to my channel. So today I’m telling you guys what I LOVE & HATE about living in Houston, Texas!
Hey girl! I live in Houston (born and raised), I’m also a SLP🤪. Houston is actually cheap compared to other cities girl!! You probably live in the city city lol.
Im from chicago, its mucchhhhhh cheaper than my city!! I am a new to the city and the place that i live in near the galleria would be at least 1200 and im paying nowhere near that... you get more for your money here if you are coming from a bif city ..its cheap folks!
@M. Allen It depends on what side of town you're on and the time of day. If you're on the Southwest, and west, you're going to be in traffic. If you're on the east side you won't be. If you leave when everyone else leaves, traffic. If you wait 10 - 15 minutes, nothing.
@M. Allen depends on time of day. Morning rush hour, yes it's bad. But afterwards it's OK. You can always get an EZ-TAG to ride the HOV into and out of town. I think it's about $5 or less all the way down. Get a friend to ride with you and it's free.
You’re apartment looks nice for $1500 per month. Much cheaper than Metro Detroit. It seems like every major city I go to the traffic is annoying. I just got back from Houston on Monday night and loved it. Definitely want to relocate. I’ve been mid west my whole life,m and need a change. The Galleria mall is amazing 💓. Good video!
I’m from Chicago and $5k property taxes is considered cheap and good luck if you find it that low. I’m considering moving to houston this summer. So this video was informative thank you
From Miami, FL currently living in San Jose, CA, Houston is cheap living and that is one reason I'm moving there. I'm looking forward to only $5k property tax.
I lived in Houston for nearly two years. I can attest to traffic being awful. I didn’t experience any issues with crime probably do the fact I didn’t live in the city of Houston. I really wasn’t impressed with the food but that is because I’m from Chicago. In my opinion Chicago has some of some of the best food in the United States. I must say I can appreciate Houston, TX more for the diversity and better food options. Since relocating to Austin, TX. Austin is not the place to be if you want diversity and good food.
Kim Wow is Austin that bad? I’m about to visit my sister who lives in San Antonio but I planned on spending a day or two in Austin just to check out the city. I kinda want to move to TX or AZ myself. Would you say Houston is better than Dallas as well?
Yeah I'm from DFW area too born and raised..but I do Commend houston on their food. But as far as Lifestyle of living, fashion, Infrastructure,Fun and art DFW for the win
Omg! I can relate to everything you’ve said. I felt like Houston straight hazed me when I moved here. Lol YES…I gained 10lbs when I arrived lol I co-sign alllll thissss lol
I don’t live in Houston but I have family that does. Everyone I meet when I visit is always so nice, I love the sense of community and culture. You don’t get that where I live in Vegas.
Girl! I am born and raised (still living) in Houston and you hit the nail on the head with this whole video. I am a home owner and my property taxes are 3.75%! FYI I am a new subscriber and love your videos
I'm visiting in April during spring break so I wanted to know about diversity in the area, jobs (medical) and apartments. I know the school systems are great from reading the reviews online.
Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the country so I wouldn’t worry about that too much. Katy/Sugarland are the Suburbs so your neighbors will prob be older with families. As far as jobs it would really depend on your position. You could live in Katy/sugar land & commute to Houston. Houston has a whole medical center so I’d suggest you google “jobs in Houston medical center.” I know a lot of positions will pop up. In regards to apartments, Katy & Pearland apartments are cheaper than those in Houston but it really depends on how much you wanna spend. I had an apartment locator find my apartment for me. Would you like her contact info?
Thanks for this video! I plan to move there this year. Can you please give an idea of what hourly wage to ask for to live somewhere nice? (an updated apartment like yours).
You’re welcome! It really depends on your job. I don’t wanna just say a wage & it may be way lower or way higher than what a company would offer for your position. In order for me to live in the city of Houston, pay my bills & still have money left over I need more than 30/hr.
Perfect! That’s exactly the answer I was looking for. I live in dc and make over 30 an hr. Knowing this information gives me a better idea of how to set things up for myself. Thank you.
Hey girl, I heard there’s a roach problem in Htown... how has that experience been for you? I was so excited to plan my life there as I will be graduating nursing school, but honestly hearing about the roach problem is deterring me from my dream😖
I had a serious roach problem in my apartment, they would come spray almost once a week but outside wasn’t too bad. I’m from South Carolina so roaches don’t bother me too much. But I would let it stop you from moving here. The weather is way worse than the roaches.
I am a born and raised Houstonian and still live here. I live on the outskirts...its better than living centrally in Houston. Less traffic and congestion. Also if you live close to the Galleria area, then you are close to my hair salon..Canvas hair studio. 😊. Great video! TFS
I’ve only been to the woodlands once for a concert and it didn’t seem very diverse. I would def prefer Katy bc it’s much closer to Houston & it has a lot of really good restaurants & places to shop. The woodlands is wayyyy too far out.
LaShonda DeVaughn I don’t want to discourage you. That’s just been my experience here. It’s way more beautiful women here to choose from than men. Plus Houston is a turn up city so these men aren’t looking to settle down lol
Sis the men are very much attracted to women from out of town..its allot of tall good looking men here, i just moved here but my fiance came back and forth to chicago from here to be with me..the men here are super easy to please and they are ready for marriage..girl come on!! 😊
Houston is expensive??? First time I've ever heard that. They are known for being way below the national average. Gas and houses are super cheap. Also you do realize that those types of crimes happen in every major city from LA to NY
@@pebblesgrayson330 why you moving?? I'm debating Charlotte or houston... I have my Master in health Administration.. looking for a place that will give me a opportunity... my main goal is to open a healthcare business this year.. any recommendations
Expensive is relative. Houston is actually affordable compared to many big metros in the area.
Couldn’t agree more. I’m looking to move there from Chicago. Everything is a deal there compared to Chicago. ☺️
I agree! Austin is more expensive than Houston
This is the best video I’ve seen on the topic - so thank you. And your nails are dope. I’m subscribing. 😂
Pebbles, your advice, beauty and pretty laptop make this post really compelling. Thanks. Keep up the good work!

I do live in the city city. I love being close to everything but these prices chile 😩😩

I had a coworker who visited Austin who said the same thing. It’s completely different from Houston.
Yeah Houston and DFW has the better diversity
Aside from the diversity do you like living in Austin or do you prefer Houston?
I definitely prefer Houston over Austin. I would move back to Houston in a heartbeat but I’m stuck in Austin for the time being. 😔
Kim Wow is Austin that bad? I’m about to visit my sister who lives in San Antonio but I planned on spending a day or two in Austin just to check out the city. I kinda want to move to TX or AZ myself. Would you say Houston is better than Dallas as well?
I'm in the DFW and my daughter is always going to Houston and now I know why!!! FOOD!! 🖤💜🖤💜
The food is amazzzzzzzzing!

Love your channel! So informative! Could you do a day in the life of an SLP?
Also love your home decor❤️
Thank you!! Bc of confidentiality & hipaa I’m unable to show any treatment at my facility.
I love your video! Its very informative! I love houston ❤❤❤ im from chicago
Girl, you’re gorgeous! That disclaimer was not needed lol

Thanks so much for your support!! ❤️
Thanks for the video! I’m moving to Houston in May/Early June. Do you any thing about Katy/sugar land area
Thank you!! I’m familiar with the area. What do you wanna know?

You don't have to have roaches. Even if you're not the cleanest. Put down some boric acid powder and you won't see roaches.
This is Spot on

You must live the same building Sophia live in
Hi do you feel like The Woodlands is a diverse area? Also would you prefer yo live in Katy or The Woodlands?

Chicago has the best food hands down
If you move to a less expensive apartment don't you think the crime rate would be higher.
I’m in Houston too and damn you pretty asf
thank you after your video im not going to move to houston
Cyn City good
What’s the dating life like in Houston?
Non-existent. It’s too many women and not enough men.
Pebbles Grayson just discouraged me from moving there 😥
LaShonda DeVaughn I don’t want to discourage you. That’s just been my experience here. It’s way more beautiful women here to choose from than men. Plus Houston is a turn up city so these men aren’t looking to settle down lol

$5k a year!? That’s dirt cheap girl! The food is definitely a hazard. Waaaay too much really good food.
What part of Houston is a great place to live?
If you want to live in the city you can stay in Meyerland, Bellaire, Midtown, Upper Kirby, riveroaks. It can get a little pricy though
It floods in those areas, correct?
Ty Brown cypress or CyFair. Good city to grow in and affordable apartments
Sakiyah Cypress city
There is a lot of Asians in Cypress
If you have a master's you have no reason to live in an apartment
