This info helped me fix my mom’s 05 Murano. Local repair shop quoted at least $1,200, I was able to remove just that module and reinstall. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the info. I created another problem. When I hooked up the wires from the module with the grey harness the key light stayed on, the beeper would not shut off and the anti theft light wouldn't come on. It was like the keyfob wasn't in range. When I unhook the wires the engine won't start. Could you help please?
Thanks mate. Very helpful. Was just wondering, the solenoid that actuates the small lever that you cut in the video, mine has totally failed (the pcb controlling has fried). I assume that it only controls the locking of the ignition? Will the car start and turn on without it? Any knowledge on that?
Help!! 07 murano, I can turn ignition without key in it, it cranks but no start. With key in, it sometimes starts and sometimes cranks but no start. Key got stuck once but eventually came out. Also problem is draining battery. This ignition switch assembly is quite expensive so wanna be sure. Any advice would be appreciated! Is it definitely the switch? Thanks in advance!
Can you tell me the part number for that specific application.... I bought a murano and is missing entire key lock assembly and i am having trouble finding the correct lock cylinder and i know mine had a little box exactly like one you cut on because its still present
@@mygarage9019 it probably depends on the original reason that caused the antitheft system to lock. Mine locked after heavy rain flooded into the car (electrical problem) vs yours could just malfunction (mechanical problem)
Did this and programmed the key to the car . But for some reason it takes the key but as soon as i try to turn it on the second time the key was unprogrammed . Any idea why this happens . Customer says this wasnt a problem . But they had mentioned the truck has 8months without moving it cause of lost keys
A pro tip is to use the punch to loosen them then I used the cutting tool to put a small slice in the top of the sheer bolt so that I could reuse them a tighten with a flathead.
Hi there! I have a 2010 Nissan Qashqai manual. I had an issue with my ignition barrel switch. Took it out and completley apart, also disconnected the battery and all the electrical cable switches. Put everything back together and the key just turns in the ignition, no dash light no crank. Checked all the fuses in the car. No central locking either. Decided to purchase a new ignition barrel with a key comes in a few days. hopefully the car will fire up. I dont want to take the vehicle to dealership and get it programmed if that is the whole case at all ?!? If anyone could help with some positive advice I would really appreciate it ! Thank you very much, Daniel
Never mind, I was running off of the emergency key only. I had to get the fob in the vehicle or the car would not think there was a key at all. Now it’s only a push start but at least it works🤙
(UPDATE #1) I ended up not having time to do this last week so I started it yesterday. I got to the point were I needed the punch and magically disappeared. lol had to put on hold till am. I just went to OReillys grabbed a punch now I'm gonna get ready and go finish up. I'll come back and let everyone know how I make out.

You’re welcome!!
You save me thank you for your information
I’m having the same exact issue with my sister’s truck going to cut the electrical pin…Seriously though I pray this works
Thanks for the demo but now I can start ignition without the key or the fob anywhere around, what did I possibly miss?!
Very useful, thanks a lot. from Peru
Glad I could help!
Thanks, you are the best
Definitely would’ve helped if you showed disassembly but flowing your directions backwards help thanks for showing a new tech help

Very helpful we save a lot of money!!!
Awesome!
Thank you for the video. Great job! If someone has the prox part of the key will the ignition still pick it up and allow it to turn?
The only thing I’m doing in this video is unlocking the steering wheel. The ignition and push to start will still function as normal.

It should. That is just solely a steering lock module.
Thank you for the video, very useful
Happy to help!
Hey mate would this work if you lost your keys. Can any key turn the ignition switch on?
No, all this does is unlock the steering wheel. It won’t allow you to start it with any key.
@@mygarage9019 thanks dude 👍

Good clean job
Thank you for such a detailed explanation! Would a wheel unlock after this if the battery is dead?
Yes.
Thank you for the video👌
You’re welcome!
Terrific! Thanks.

Does the key lock actuator cause the engine to stall while driving if it goes bad?
No. It will only cause the steering to be locked.
I did this but now it cranks and won't start. Think the immobilizer needs a reset.
This has nothing to do with the immobilizer. You may have left something unplugged. All this does is unlock the steering wheel.
Yeah I’m having the same issue..
I was able to start the car twice at third attempt it’s just cranking but no start.

Will this work on a infinity q45 2003?
It should but the design may be different.
So u have to drill out the retaining bolts to get it out?
A pro tip is to use the punch to loosen them then I used the cutting tool to put a small slice in the top of the sheer bolt so that I could reuse them a tighten with a flathead.
Thank you very much bro
Glad I was able to help!
What is that light blue connnector? Because the vehicle I’m working has a connector like that and it has a resistor in it? Thank u. Sir.
I’m not sure. This one didn’t connect back into the vehicle. What year/make/model are you working on?

So I did everything and it unlocked the ignition but now the car cannot sense that the key is in

Awesome! Glad you figured it out!
I'm gonna try this tomorrow if I still can't get my switch to turn

@@Rukas1doa so how did it work out?
😂😊
Come on man you can't jump right in the middle of a video nobody knows how you got there how you take the panels off to get the ignition key
If you can’t watch how it goes back together and figure out how it comes apart.. you shouldn’t be working on your own car.
