Anne Shirley! ❤️ She’s the best! 157! She has held up well. Looking good for her age. The Thomas Nelson edition - beautiful! Kindred spirits! 🥰 100 anniversary edition, lovely! Anne in Germany and Japan! Wow! What a lovely collection. Truly a treat. Thank you, Jolene!
14:24 - I love how special the collection your Dad bought you is to you. Amazing that you went or P E Isle and Anne's house 🏠 🌳🌸😍 My cousin and I want to go to Canada for that!
9:59 - I love Anne in Japan! She even is holding her carpet bag on the front cover! It is animae illustrations, but the emotions Anne and Diana had on that illustration are so spot on, it works so well - Never thought I would see Animae Anne😃😆😍
Something about this video is sooooo beautiful..... maybe the memories you've shared of your Dad... how much you adore Anne of Green Gables.... I am so sorry that I haven't ever read her books before..... Mark my words, by next year I will get the series and correct the error of my ways. Thank you for sharing, Jolene... I loved seeing your collection (the Japanese drawing of Anne is I think my favourite). Back in to War and Peace I go. Have a great weekend
Thanks Karen. The first book is definitely worth a read if you don’t want to commit to the entire series. I’m still working on the series. I also still need to start War and Peace. 😊💙
She got me to know Anne and it was her collection I started reading. We also have found the DVD for a drama series starring Kim Braden as Anne, which is who my Mum saw as Anne.
This video brought me so much happiness, thank you for sharing! I love your collection, I'm inspired to start my own collection too. I own most of the series, the same editions that were from your dad. I've read books one to four and am hoping to read Anne's House of Dreams soon 🙂
I wanted to be like Anne as little girl . I wanted to see the Lake of Shining Water . I wanted to go through the Haunted Forest ! I wanted to-name my first child Rilla … loved the phrase “Rilla , my Rilla!”
I have not had a daughter, but my youngest son if he was a girl was going to be Rionagh - Ria for short as I wanted to do a similar "Ria my Ria" (Maria) to Rilla - her "Yeth" was just the cutest. I wish we got Marilla's reaction of Anne naming her daughter after her 🥺🥰
What a great video. I got the boxset with only 6 of the books in it for christmas, I didn't realise it was missing any!! I guess I'll have to get the other two out from the library haha. Maybe when I have more money I can buy the Verago press ones - they are beautiful. Thanks for showing us your collection!
What a wonderful Christmas gift. Many of the boxed sets only have the 6 books. Not sure why. You can sometimes get the verago set for cheaper on bookoutlet.ca (if you're in Canada) or bookoutlet.com (if you are in the US). Happy New Year! 😊💙
12:44 - that is a very weird choice of books to leave out. I understand of they left Rainbow Vally and Rilla as the focus is her children. But Anne of Imgleside is a mix of Anne and the adventures of her children? Very odd. Although Windy Willows does not have alot of Avonlea action, it is very centred on Anne as a young woman in her teaching career. 🤔
i think its because those were the last two books written, so some people consider them extras! ex.: anne of ingleside is the 6th book chronologically but it was published in 1939 so that makes it the last
I had to read Anne of Green Gables as part of summer reading before 7th grade. at the time, I found it very hard to get through. I just finished the last season of Anne With An E and I loved it. it made me want to give another go of reading the books.
Hopefully it will be a better experience for you. I have watched some of Anne with An E but didn’t continue. They changed some key aspects that bugged me and I thought took away from who Anne was. I love the original movie with Megan Follows. I thought she portrayed Anne perfectly. I love that it continues to be adapted for new audiences. 😊💙
happy birthday to Anne! What a lovely tribute - and such great editions and recap! You have some gorgeous copies!!! I used to have the same editions that your dad gave you! and cheers to cake! :D
I loved this so much! Anne is so special to me too and I’ve loved her forever. I looked for a long time for the perfect set of all the stories and I got the whimsical looking set you said was from Verago press. What a great idea for a collection! I love to see what people collect. It’s such fun.
Hello 👋 found you from your comment on my channel - and subscribed without hesitation on seeing this video! Anne with an e was my friend from childhood and from her i always am on the lookout for Kindred spirits and my Mum and I refer to thinks as "That's very Anne-ish" or we are on a walk and a tree looks like Poetry we say "I has an Anne moment" or "I felt Anne-ish" Can't wait to watch...but gave to go do life first 😔
This, and the whole video has been delightful - what a lovely way to celebrate her birthday 🎂 - Kindred spirits all the way! I will always be happy to hear your Anne-ish thoughts. Your intro is very Anneish with the scenery 🙂
I love Anne so much!! I haven't finished reading the series but I'm currently on Anne of Ingleside, I have the same editions your dad bought you ^^ I loved the figurines I need some that look like that
Ohh haven’t read Anne of Green Gables. I totally conflated this title with Shirley Hazard, whom I haven’t read yet but have a collection of stories of. Haha!
Have you ever read anything else my L M Montgomery? Some of the chronicles of Avonlea are problematic reading today, but others are very heartfelt. I also have a book at my Mum's house with a one off story which has completely eluded now, but I really enjoyed it. I also tried Emily of new Moon, but we did not get on, we were nit Kindred spirits alas. No one can quite compare to Anne after all 🍂🧡🍁

@@BookwormAdventureGirl I went book shopping today and spotted the Thomas Nelson edition. I was even more impressed in person and thought of you!
@@Shellyish Awe. It’s a very pretty edition. 🥰
2:19 - Awww What a gorgeous copy! I love that scene with Anne and Diana running to the spare room bed! 😆 and her apology. Beautiful book.
Thanks. Love Anne and Diana. 😊💙
14:24 - I love how special the collection your Dad bought you is to you. Amazing that you went or P E Isle and Anne's house 🏠 🌳🌸😍

Even though I’m a lot older than you , I feel we are kindred spirits!
Kindred Spirits don’t care about age. Always great to acknowledge that connection. 😊💙
2:56 - I have just bought that edition for my Mum, for Mother's Day🥰. The book mark, the pages, the highlighted quotes. Gorgeous!
Awesome! It’s a beautiful edition. What a lovely gift. 😊💙

@@ChattieTheMadChatter Excellent. I don't think I have seen that one.
Such beautiful copies!!! Absolutely lovely!!! Aww.. have Anne wherever you go! ☺️ thank you for sharing your collection!!! 🎂

You have such a wonderful voice
Thanks Michaela and thanks for watching. 😊💙
Love your Anne collection I’m a big fan too
Thanks. Isn't Anne delightful! 😊💙
I loved reading the first four books in the Anne of Green Gable series and they are just fabulous. I plan to finish the rest this year.
I still need to finish the series too. I’ve read the first book several times and hopefully I can finish the entire series soon. 😊💙
I liked learning about the love of Anne in Japan. Really cool to see a copy in Japanese.
The Japanese copy is really neat. Thanks Sonja. 😊💙
I wanted to be like Anne as little girl . I wanted to see the Lake of Shining Water . I wanted to go through the Haunted Forest ! I wanted to-name my first child Rilla … loved the phrase “Rilla , my Rilla!”
How sweet! When we visited Green Gables, the property was my favourite part. It is located in a national park and it really has a magical feel. 😊💙
