I am 20 nobody in my family got me into this, I heard it on 104.9 WTKM FM radio in Wisconsin (where im from) and I was hooked. All my friends cant stand it, but I crave polka!
freedom with this too. Love my Grandparents and mom for introducing this to us. nearly all the grandkids and great-grandchildren have listened to this. couldn't imagine life without it. thank you Grandma and Grandpa 💞
Love this music. Growing up in Milwaukee Frankie was a staple in music - every wedding I went to had a polka band. This music just makes you feel good!!!
The San Diego Padres organist in the mid 1970's always played the Hoop Dee Do Polka before the San Diego Padres home baseball games when I went there to see them play Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco. There was a Polka radio program on Saturday mornings in the 1970's on KIEV AM 870 Los Angeles I used to listen to when I lived in Long Beach, I was in the Navy then.
Frankie and his band were obviously forerunners of punk. Stripped-down instrumentation, short and fast-paced songs, with hard-edged melodies... classic proto-punk. I love it!
Milton DeLugg, who was the music director of the Herb Shriner show, "Name That Tune," wrote this polka. Every time someone named the tune, Milt would play enough of the song that it qualified for ASCAP royalties. He also played it as the theme song for the show. Milton DeLugg made a fortune from just this one song!!!!
Would anyone happen to own the album cover with his band players all wearing tuxedos and I think it was top hats also ? My dad was his bass player in the early 1960’s he was on tour

I'm a lifelong rock & roll fan, but recently rediscovered what great musicians Frankie and his band were!
This reminds me of my sweet grandmother. And yes, she played the accordion. She LOVED this music.

Greetings from NJ
Just a great song. People always look so happy when they are Polka dancing.

Except, this is far superior to shitass punk. Dummy!
@@Glinkaism1 Thumbs up for you. No one throws classic shade better than a proto-punker. This Octoberfest the beers on me.
Who else would like to beam themselves down to that dance floor and hoof it up! 💃🕺
