Absolutely gorgeous section! River crossing, my biggest fear. Thank goodness your eye is better. 🙏🏻

Lots of waterfalls on this section. It's crazy that the "trail" is actually the river!

The Deception/Goats Pass route is part of NZ iconic annual Coast to Coast race. From Kumara on the West Coast to Christchurch city in the East, a mix of running, biking, kayaking. Look it up on YT, this is why NZ has such a high % of elite endurance racers for such a small population country. Also worth checking out videos of Godzone NZ, non- stop 5 days adventure racing thru terrain much harder than this.

Good to know thanks I'll check those out! Is that part of the Alps to Ocean race, I saw lots of signs for that.

What snacks do you find best for calories in NZ? I don't think I ate enough 😂Enjoying your videos and reliving some of the trail😊🎉 Goat Pass was a favourite of mine

Certainly, no shortage of water where you are .I googled average rainfall in New Zealand between 23- 63 inches a year, with some parts of the west coast can get up to 300 inches per year. Wow that is a lot of rain!☔

The west coast gets crazy amounts of rain!

Wet feet once again. The river is a great place for a trail.🤣 Great news that your eye is clearing up so you can enjoy the trail without that distraction and concern.

🤣 why huild a trail when there's a perfectly good river

I love it, 'why build a trail when you can walk in the river'.

Almost 2,5km/h sounds fast to me 😂 I’ve had several sections on TA at 1km/h or less because of how steep it is, or just how bad the « « « trail » » » is 😅

Honestly, why is this trail so popular?!?! You seem to walk down a river most the time
